I've been to the Harmar quite a bit: mainly for breakfast out on the terrace. It sits on the west side off a cobblestone street, just behind Spagnas. It's quite lovely on that end of town, especially during the spring. At first glance, you just notice this small little pub, which is exactly what it is. Outside dining can be accommodating to a crowd, but not so much for the inside. When going in, you just find a seat and someone will come over to get your order. I've ordered the French toast, the sausage gravy and biscuits, eggs and toast and the pancakes. I've always enjoyed the food and left satisfied. The last time I was in town, I met up with my adult sons for brunch, and my husband ordered the fried bologna, which is their specialty. He really enjoyed it. Their prices are very reasonable, but their portions are small. Family friendly, it still remains a nice little eatery in Marietta. read more

Great local dive bar. Alayna the bartendar was super friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Their bottled beers were frosty and cold, not to mention the price was right, not like the show but like your pocketbook. Started talking food and she directed us not only for dinner but for breakfast and lunch too. Made friends with the locals very quickly as we discussed the differences between Ohio and the rest of the world lol. Good but grossly overpriced sandwich that wasn't really bologna but some type of ham based meat. An online menu showed the price at $6.95. Must've been a pre-Covid price. Definitely the most ever paid for a Bologna like sandwich. They could serve Boars Head real Bologna and bring the price down by half, sell quadruple the sandwiches and make more profit. Stopped with some friends at the Harmar before a women's basketball game at Marietta Univ. Typical town bar décor, friendly atmosphere and people. I had the Big Ass Fish Sandwich which was good size but nothing to brag about. It was ok. I ate the whole thing. I would definitely pass on the homemade pork rinds. My wife got the bologna sandwich, she loved it, good thick cut of bologna and all the fix in's. Great town bar, we have heard lots of stories from people who attended Marietta and love it. I saw the place had reopened after months of closure due to covid. Called and made a reservation for the 4 of us. During the call, I specifically asked whether the rack of ribs would be on the menu and was told indeed it would... after the girl on the phone checked with her manager. So, the next day we drove 115 miles one way to get what have in the past been the best ribs I've ever had... only to find I had been lied to and the ribs in fact were NOT being served. Chose to eat lunch here and boy I am glad that we did. We had great food and exceptional service. Our waitress, Lindsey, was extremely friendly and helpful. We ordered the Harmars known Bologna Sandwich with all the fixins and it was nothing but amazing. This was the best lunch experience that we have had in Marietta and I will continue to return. Also, on Wednesdays they have Mexican specials that looked and smelled amazing. We wanted a traditional sandwich but will go back again for Mexican Wednesdays. The restaurant was clean. A friend and I came in and sat outside. We had a great waitress sit us and get our drinks only to be turned over to someone who was almost off, had no personality and was obvious she couldn't wait to leave. To take our order we were asked rather rudely, "what do you want?" We both ordered the hamburger and were pleasantly surprised to find hand formed (not thawed frozen patty), seasoned, cooked perfectly and loaded with juice burgers with everything coming out as good as we could have imagined. The nice waitress, gave us our bill and took our money (good, we didn't want to tip the other girl anyway). If it weren't for the one waitress, this place would have gotten 5 stars. read more

I have never heard a bartender ask a patron to leave as nicely as the bartender did in this place. Said patron was banned for fighting and apparently created quite the bloody mess and despite that she was asked to leave in the kindest manner possible. I think most bartenders would be pretty legit in telling that patron to get @$! out whilst holding up a baseball bat. Their kitchen was actually pretty adept at preparing a decent meal in the afternoon/evenings and the outdoor seating was nice if you wanted seperation from the bar.
