Visiting Marietta for my husbands work trip and came to Levee House Bistro off of a recommendation from Sylvi at American Flags & Poles and so glad we did! All specials sounded amazing and were very reasonably priced ($25-$27) but we went with the Horseradish Crusted Cod and Chicken Pea Pasta- both delicious! Finished it off with the Key Lime Pie. Our server Joy was very pleasant and was knowledgeable about the menu and questions we had. The restaurant was a great environment with comfortable lighting and we are interested in visiting again to eat outside along the river when the construction is complete! read more

Spent a fall day checking out Marietta, and stumbled upon the Levee House Bistro. Right on the waterfront, on a quiet street, the views are terrific. It was a bit chilly for outside the day we went, but had we come here in warmer weather outside would have been a must. The restaurant was well appointed, I guess it could be called "casual fancy". We did not feel out of place in jeans and flannel shirts at lunch. For dinner I would suggest business casual. The dining room was a bit stuffy temp-wise, but the weather outside was having a hard time making up its mind!!!!! Our server was great. Very knowledgeable on the menu and all things local. Prompt and on point The food though, that is the highlight, as it should be. My wife ordered the Lobster Roll with house made Broccoli Salad. This was a ridiculously inexpensive $17! Not only that, but when her plate arrived there were TWO lobster rolls. I would have expected to pay double-and-a-half for what she had on her plate anywhere else. She loved the lobster rolls a lot. I am no fan of mayo so I had to forego the Lobster Rolls as they only offer New England Style. I do wish there was a Connecticut Style option! I had the Chicken parm Sandwich with fries, and it was very good. I do wish they served fresh cut fries. Just a preference for me especially in a chef lead dining establishment....last thing I want to see is frozen fries Overall, we were both very happy with our lunch here and would definitely return. read more

I was in Marietta Ohio last week and had a great dinner here. Sat on the patio over looking the Ohio River beautiful view. Our sever was excellent very efficient and knew the menu well. Probably the best local dinner restaurant. Creative Chef and engaging staff with a great on-the-river location in downtown Marietta.

Overall, high prices for poor quality. We were seated quickly by a polite hostess, but then we waited a long time for anyone to take our drink order, appetizer order, dinner orders, or to bring any refills. Finally, it took a long time to receive our food. We understand they had a couple of large parties that evening; however, a dinner experience shouldn't take nearly two hours. We ordered a beer, and the waitress asked if we'd like a cold glass--yes. In most cases, the bottle and glass are served together, but not here. The beer was poured before it arrived at the table, and when served, there was no bottle provided. Additionally, the beer had three inches of foam. We were offered a bread basket with a "variety of bread", which consisted of two rolls and two pats of butter. For dinner, we ordered the Crab Ravioli with Charred Scallops and the Butternut Squash Ravioli with Salmon. The Crab Ravioli with Charred Scallops was tasty however the portion was smaller than expected. The Butternut Squash Ravioli with Salmon was blandly seasoned, underwhelming. There was very little separating the main dining room from the kitchen area, which was notable due to the noise and aromas. It seems an adequate exhaust system wasn't used that evening. This made for unpleasant scents wafting from the kitchen, which distracted from the overall dining experience. read more

We had dinner here while we were traveling through the area. The food and service were very good. I had a pesto swordfish special and my wife the pan fried scallops. Both were seasoned and cooked well. The pesto was a little strong flavored with the mild fish but rationing a little with each bite was delicious. The risotto paired beautifully with scallops and was delicious as well. We would definitely stop here again. read more

Wow, kudos to chef Josh and his team for an outstanding meal. We had spinach and artichoke dip , shrimp cocktail for appetizers. They were fresh and delicious. For entree we had crab ravioli with card scallops and veggies. Fresh Cobia with veggies and potatoes. Yes, it was outstanding. Our service was a joy with Joy. She explained everything nicely done. Our reservation was for 6:00 pm. We got there at 5:30 and sat right down. Very nice spot next to the river. I would give y'all a 6 star if I could. read more

First time here tonight. My wife and I sat outside with a great view of the river on a lovely spring night. We shared the watermelon salad. She had the lobster ravioli and I had the mushroom risotto. Both were great! We had the tiramisu and vanilla crème brûlée for desert...everything was fabulous! The owner stopped by the table to talk to us too she was super nice, the wait staff were friendly and efficient on what looked like a pretty busy Monday night. An adorable place filled with evidence of history. History of architecture, decor, menu and importance. The sidewalk seating was picturesque and relatively cool on a very hot summer evening. We opted-out from inside dining ... the seated clientele felt territorial almost, like it was "their" dining spot and we were exposed as tourists. The staff is very properly uniformed and well trained though, in our case, still green. We were not offered bread as the other tables were and my request for a second glass of wine went unanswered for so long I finally canceled it and asked for the check instead. Trip to the restroom was interesting... nice decor once inside but the hall was quite cluttered with boxes and equipment and felt dingy. The food was okay. Three out of four dishes were labeled as such and I had two apps both very simple and easy to prepare, each however, felt lacking in one way or another. Prices were appropriate, thankfully, and all in all it was a nice experience but we felt an overwhelming sense that the potential wow remained deliberately hidden. read more

What a great local restaurant! We were in town for the weekend. The riverfront location is romantic. But, we were seated next to the kitchen and got to talk with the owners' niece who was filling the waters to help out her Aunt and Uncle. She introduced us to owners and we enjoyed talking with them. First trip there today and everything was excellent. We had the halibut and it came with potatoes and a summer medley of veggies. Very tasty! Our server was excellent and our tea glass was never empty for more than 5 minutes. I had asked for the tomato based topping for my halibut to be on the side but it came already on fish. The chef heard about the error and came to our table to apologize and ask if I wanted another serving. As luck would have it, I enjoyed the sauce and told him everything was fine. I was very impressed by him and the manager coming to check on us. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a nice meal. The building is right along the river and has some great views. The outside is dark and ambiguous. I made reservations and upon arrival found out that our table was given to another couple. the peas in my sea scallop dish were frozen and the sauce had no flavor. We ordered two appetizers that did not list meat in the ingredients but had meat (we do not eat red meat). I told the waitress that we did not like the bread (really chewy oats) and asked if there was another kind, she said "no" and took the bread away. read more

The food was surprisingly good! We went here on a whim for lunch. After looking at the menu, I was fully prepared to be disappointed in all the good reviews. Plus I was on the verge of trying not to get a full blown hangover. I ordered the lobster roll with potato salad, my husband had the turkey sandwich with tabouleh & my son went with the excellent choice of potato chips & buttered noodles. The food was delicious! I could only eat 1/2 of my food, the bread was toasted & the lobster roll wasn't a bunch of mayo. We sat outside and the view was of the river. Waitstaff was friendly and did a great job! My only complaint would be that I kept wondering if I was smelling a mouse house nearby. When here is our first step for Cinco de Mayo. They were offering a free margarita flight and had a special pork appetizer. The appetizer came out three separate waitresses, and the chef all told us the drinks would be coming soon they didn't have any lime juice surprise we're having a margarita special, no limes or lime juice finish our appetizers eventually the three drinks showed up one was made with bourbon. It was awesome one was made with a champagne. It was horrible. The other was more of a traditional margarita. read more

We are visiting from Cape Cod (MA) and Just came back from dinner at the Levee House Bistro - really EXCELLENT! We sat outside and the setting on the river was just wonderful. The waitress was attentive and friendly and the owners (wife and chef husband) both stopped by our table and checked on us. The chef is originally from Boston and it is reflected in the menu which includes lobster and cod items. Coming from New England I was reluctant to order seafood when in Ohio, but the NE clam chowder, lobster ravioli and the salmon were all wonderful. My only regret is that we were too full to try the key lime pie or cheesecake for dessert, both of which looked excellent. My wife and I like to dine out and we have a number of fine restaurants near our home, but this meal was certainly one of the best we've had this year. Without question, it was the best meal we've had in the Marietta/Parkersburg area during our visits over the past six years. We wish we could take the Levee House Bistro home with us! read more

It isn't often that our whole family has the perfect meal at the same time until Saturday night! Our son attends college in the area so we came to town to celebrate! What a lovely experience! We started with Caesar Salad, Summer Salad and French onion soup - so delicious. The soup was very flavorful with the correct ratio of soup to bread to cheese. The salads were dressed nicely and crisp and fresh! We all ordered the steak au poivre - cooked to order. Our server even suggested butterflying one of our orders which was more well done so we would all eat at the same time! I have to say we all enjoyed the meal very much and would recommend to anyone going to Marietta! We can only imagine how lovely the river view would be in the spring and summer! read more

We ate at the Levee House on Saturday evening. We were lucky enough to get a table outside so we could enjoy the view of the river as well as the outdoor lights. The food was outstanding!
