Let me tell ya: Rebekah is the best broker in the city, if not the world. Not only did she only charge us one month's rent for a brokers fee (what?!), she was incredibly kind, devoted, and helped us secure our first-choice apartment (an absolutely beautiful townhouse in Astoria!) in a quick and timely matter, against all odds, and even at a lower price than the original listing! She was super thoughtful, kind, and personally invested into getting us the place we loved. Additionally, the application fee was extremely affordable for credit/BG check. To tell the truth, I've been swindled by brokers/realty groups before - but these people are nothing of that sort. My girlfriend and I had recently decided to start look at apartments. Prior to meeting Rebekah we were shown cramped apartments and met with unresponsive and unreliable agents. My girlfriend set some time up with Rebekah for a location in Astoria then she invited to view another one right after. We loved it- simple as that. I initially thought the process was going to long, drawn out and tedious but it certainly wasn't with Rebekah. She was exceptionally responsive and made the process seamless. I have been meaning to write this review for seven years - I worked with Steffan back in 2015, when we were looking for our first apartment in NYC. We were very excited to submit our application for a 1-BR apartment in Astoria that fit all of our qualifications AND our budget. A few days later, Steffan calls and lets us know that the apartment has fallen through. I was devastated. Steffan was so understanding and assured me that he would find us another 1-BR apartment that I'd love. Although I was skeptical, he called me the next day and let me know about an apartment that wasn't even listed yet, and furthermore, was listed with another broker. It was a wonderful apartment, and we ended up staying for nearly six years. All that is to say, I have not forgotten how Steffan went above and beyond all those years ago, to help us out, even though it meant that we'd be working with an entirely different broker. I would like to preface this review by saying if there was anything higher than 5 stars, I would absolutely hands down give them all the stars. I had been looking around Astoria for over two months hoping to find an apartment that was spacious, but that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg. It was extremely frustrating scheduling viewings with realtors that were interested in making a quick sell, and would show us apartments that if I stretched out my arms either way, I would essentially be in a all rooms in the tiny tiny tiny apartment they were showing. It was starting to becoming discouraging and we were actually thinking of expanding our search over into Sunnyside and Woodside as well, because Astoria just was not working out. Then the clouds shifted, the sun shone, birds sang, and I met Rebekah G. It was completely good ol' fashioned luck that we found Rebekah. And I thank whatever it was that made it happen. I found one of Rebekah's listings through StreetEasy and I scheduled a viewing with her. Rebekah got back to me in a timely manner, and actually asked pre-screening questions to ascertain whether or not this apartment would even be available to us. (It was.) Anyway, we set up a time for a viewing. Rebekah then texted me and asked if I would be interested in seeing a second apartment that she had because it was bigger. Originally, I said no because I had seen that apartment and did not like the living room, but Rebekah explained that she did not have good photos. So, I said why not, and we scheduled to view that one as well. Rebekah was gracious enough to be able to move our allotted set time for the viewing because something came up for us and we weren't going to be able to make it on time. When we finally met Rebekah, she was the sweetest, most down to earth person. She is so compelling, charming, and kind, you can't help smiling in her presence. She showed us the first apartment, was very knowledgable in answering questions that I had, was never annoyed when I asked too many questions, and was just really great. Then we went to the second apartment and we immediately knew that that was the apartment for us. Had Rebekah not insisted that we view it, we would've never found it. I am so grateful for her. We talked to Rebekah that night and explained we were interested in the apartment. She immediately got to work emailing us what we would need, the applications, etc. Because of her hard work and dedication, we were able to submit everything the next day. We were approved 3 days after viewing the apartment, and we just signed the lease yesterday, 5 days after viewing the apartment. Rebekah made a stressful thing like moving and applying for an apartment into the most seamless and smooth transition ever. I adore Rebekah, and if I could carry her around in my pocket, feeding her little treats, I would, but unfortunately, she has a job to do. If for whatever reason we are looking to move again way down in the future, we already decided that we will be using Rebekah to help us find another dream home. If you are looking to move into Astoria, you cannot go wrong with Rebekah. She is prompt, helpful, and will move mountains to help you find your dream home, in addition to being the sweetest person on this planet. You can never go wrong with Rebekah! read more

Even now when I see him in the neighborhood he stops dead in the street to chat with me, asking about the apartment and if I am still happy, how things are going on in my personal life and work. Moving and dealing with brokers can be the worst possible experience when living in New York, and nine times out of ten it is, but Katerina at Space Realty gave us a glimmer of hope that there still exists professionalism and compassion in an otherwise bloodsucking industry. She was on time to our appointment, respected our budget, and was very upfront with us about everything that went into the whole process. Although we did not end up finding an apartment with her (and it was not for lack of trying), she definitely gained our respect, and would be someone we would call if we're in the market to move again. Came to..yes..an art show at the Space (newly Space & Art) Realty spot to support a relative's work. While I didn't have the pleasure of meeting the venerable Steffan, I was graced with the presence of a caged white dove, escorted inside by the most eccentric of fellows and seated at the back of the long establishment. The air was fragrant with some sort of industrial cleaner and uncorked vino, with a man working away at his desk in the rear of the space. The entrance is buttressed with some bright/old-ish floor tiles (I have now fulfilled my quota for art reviews...there better be a Yelp badge involved here) and the block is ripe with potential. read more

After exhausting experiences with other brokers, and seeing clunky spaces, we found Mia at Space Realty. She is amazingly sweet and intuitive about what you like. A breath of fresh air in the NYC apartment hunt madness. We sat down and talked about what we were looking for. Then, the first apartment she showed us (she said she knew we would like it) is the one we fell in love with immediately. We are still enjoying living in it 6 months later! She even took the initiative to introduce my husband and I to another couple who moved in to the building afterwards, which I appreciated. She charged us only the first months rent as a brokers fee - almost unheard of in NY where it's usually 12-15% of the years rent. read more

I called Space Realty a few weeks ago and talked to Steffan. I felt like he was listening to me and understood all the requirements my partner and I had. This was my first time using a broker, but I knew it would be the best way to go, looking for a apartment in Astoria that takes pets and close to the train is a tall order. That being said... Steffan is a really nice guy but very disorganized. We showed up two days in a row and both times he didn't have any apartment lined up. So he stated using Craigslist and calls other brokers. We did see some apartments..but we you ask for new construction ..you don't expect to bust into building site to see a apartment that wont be done for a few months when you have to move in a month... I only write this because I went to yelp to help me and I went by what I read..I'll I can say is each person experience will be different..while I liked Steffan as a person very nice..down to earth guy... I would not recommend him as a realtor..especially for the Astoria area..best of luck out there!!!! read more

I have lived in NYC for 14 years and always prided myself on never paying a brokers fee for any of my apartments. However, in my most recent housing search, I found an apartment listed by Steffan at Space Realty. I decided to check it out, thinking it would at least give me an idea of what's in the area. Of course, it was love at first sight, and Steffan was so welcoming and warm, that I knew I was going to break my streak of no fee living. The landlord was a bit nervous to rent to me (an actress between jobs), but Steffan helped assure him that I would be a great tenant and ended up sealing the deal! But Steffan didn't stop working there! He has been a wonderful friend and neighbor since. Offering to help out with little things in the apartment and telling me about wonderful places and events my new neighborhood has to offer. He has gone so far and above the normal duties of a broker, and always with a smile on his face. I'm hoping to stay in this apartment for a very long time, but if I have to move, I'll call Steffan first! read more
