What a nostalgic spot - nestled in a somewhat busy plaza right off the feeder of I-45N & 242 in…read moreShenandoah! Cute, quaint, and filled to the brim with comics and more! I recently stopped by here with my boys after having some services done at the salons next door and am SO glad we decided to pop in! From the moment you open the door - the smell of comics (and even my own childhood!) consume you. There is SO much to see and look for - it's easy to spend the whole day inside and potentially go broke. My kids gravitated right to the youth section, which was aptly positioned right near the entrance (I say aptly, because once you venture in a bit more, you do have to pass by the more "adult" side of the comic world), and immediately found a few new additions to their at-home library! As if that wasn't enough to reel one in, they even sat down to indulge in a few chess moves. ;) Of course, finding all the nostalgia and collectibles further toward the back of the store was icing on the cake. There were several aisles of toys and figures - pop culture and more! - should that tickle your comic book-loving fancy. Just don't say I didn't warn you! I love that the staff welcomed the kids and engaged with them. The two young(er) folks working that day were super knowledgeable and well-versed in the comic book world and I am here for it. They took time to share all about the store, the programs and clubs of times past - here's to hoping they come back!! - and offered a much needed welcome to the comic book kids of today in this area. If I'm being honest, it made for a great first-time visitor experience. Overall, I highly recommend stopping by and for the life of me, am still scratching my head to understand why we've not stopped in sooner! There's so few stores of this magnitude on this side of town - and it's worth it. Definitely a go-to on my list of my kids' favorite spots...

She eventually gave me the package after giving me a mouthful which took her not even a minute to get from the cabinet. Personally, I think they've got the coolest jobs and I sure don't mind those yellow Lego smocks they have to wear either! Can I have one? Just for fun? The walls are lined with Lego sets for purchase (of course) and pre-assembled sample sets in cases for viewing and (in my case) gawking over. Having just seen the Lego Movie but a few weeks ago, I was extremely stoked on the Lego Movie section, appropriately located near the front of the store! Other rad trinkets and awesome merch are strategically placed around the store; everything you need to get your Lego fix or satisfy a kiddo's Lego needs! There are several spots in the store where you can let your imagination do its thing! Duplo table for tiny hands and assurance that Legos gone rogue in a child's mouth won't get swallowed. Other building space hosts the smaller Lego pieces for older, more dexterous hands! Oh, and I can build myself in Lego form?! Don't mind if I do! $9.99 will get you your own personalized Lego person! Yay! From what I've been told (and gathered from the line of people waiting outside the store as I walked by it much later) Lego offers classes or build-events?! Where do I sign up for said happenings?! While it may not be the largest Lego Store I've ever visited, it's still a treat to have in any mall!

every part of me just wants to write nothing but a positive review because i've been a Build A Bear…read morefan ever since i was little, but i'm just going to be logical while writing this- plus, this is just about this specific location. for one, the selection is pretty good- i mean, the bears are cute, but ever since around 2019 and on, their bears have gotten more and more plain and minimalist. i just miss the fun variety. the price is absolutely insane. i swear, you can have experiences where you end up paying like 70 bucks on a stuffed animal depending on which one it is and if you get clothes for it or not. even as an avid stuffie enthusiast, i have to admit that that's insane. the service at this location is also very hit or miss. i've had some experiences that were lovely and wonderful, some that weren't. i have memories of being a kid and hearing my mom say that the workers were rushing us even with it being like my 10th birthday or whatever, and as an adult, i have occasionally noticed workers seeming a tad bit off towards me, being an adult who buys toys still. look, i know, it's weird, but they bring me comfort lmao. overall, it is not a terrible place at all. if you're like me and you're an adult looking to just buy yourself a new stuffed animal, you'll probably have an okay time. if you're a parent trying to plan your kid's birthday, i'd be wary. i've seen a lot go wrong in that regard! also, they took away the bathing station!! :( that's the worst part!!
