When I walked in, a man was just standing there looking at his phone. I asked for a manicure, and he completely disregarded my request and just continued to stare at his phone. He did not direct me, and then a woman seated, who I would not even call a manicurist pointed to the chair. This woman had a horrible attitude and literally laughed at my requests. On top of the terrible, uneducated service, the place is dirty and the polish they use is old. Zero elegance. Do not waste your money here. I went to a lovey establishment further up on Madison Avenue. NYC is a fabulous city these people should be grateful to be here. read more

Maria gave me a manicure and pedicure, and everything was perfect. She was attentive, professional, and did an excellent job. Lee gave me a chair massage that was amazing--he found all the trigger points in my back and worked them out perfectly. I had a Russian pedicure and a 10 min massage. The cost was $121 and she never even buffed the soles of my feet or anything! Outrageous

While they do good pedicures, I got a gel x manicure and it was not at all worth the cost. First of all, I was only shown a small amount of their tons of gel colors, and when I picked one labeled OPI 30, the woman doing my nails and the manager spoke with each other about how they didn't have the color and would just tell me it was labeled incorrectly. Once they gave me the complete wrong color and I said two coats was too dark, she then put a sheer color over it to smooth it out. The color is see through and crackled now only an hour after I left the salon. i told them several times the color was not right and the nails were uneven but they did not fix it. read more

This was the most expensive nail salon service I have ever gotten. I paid $84 for a regular mani pedi with tip and I'll be honest it's officially one of my worst manicures ever. I expect at least better service than usual if it's going to cost 2-3x more and yet my manicure is terrible, it wasn't put on well near the cuticles at all and looks choppy at the ends. No doubt it will come off sooner since it's attached to the cuticles and will grow out badly. Not to mention, one of the customers in the salon was rude to me and my friend and asked us to stop "chit chatting" because she wanted to "relax." Talking is allowed in the nail salon but no one said anything to the woman and I obviously wasn't going to talk back more than twice (I did say it was offensive and we were allowed to speak but we felt uncomfortable continuing our conversation after her remarks). I left the salon broke, angry and disrespected, and with an unattractive manicure. The pedicure seems to be fine but it was definitely not worth $45. read more

I can't believe my EYES! Literally. I go to the Spa Niobe at the Wilton CT location and the lash extensions by Crystal are the absolute best. She's meticulous in her work and as a result, the lashes stay put much longer than any other I've had. The results are amazing! They feel natural, look glam, and I only know they are there when I look in the mirror. I am so lucky to have found the nice folks here. Everyone is so warm and welcoming, they do a great job with everything from nails to facials, but Crystal's lash work is truly remarkable. read more

If I could be 0 stars I would. I got my nails done here recently and they were absolutely awful. I normally go get a full set in my hometown for $60 but here I'm pretty sure the lady who did my nails made up some bs price of $150 FOR ONE COLOR NO DESIGN. She was actually so sassy don't recommend. read more

This place is convenient but definitely charges way too much for the poor work quality. I came in while waiting for someone and got a simple buff and shine. The total was $30 pre tip: fine whatever it's a pandemic so maybe that's why there's an up charge. Once home I had time to look at the nail job I got. It was done pretty badly with barely any buffing or shining. The nail ridges are still pretty prominent and my nails are not shiny (they actually look scratchy. My nails were badly cut and filed as well. Will not come back. If you're going to charge a higher price atleast provide quality service. read more

Ugh I should have followed my gut and listened to the Yelp reviews already posted. The place looked clean, upscale and busy so I figured I would give it a try. Big Mistake! First of all, it is extremely expensive, even for the UES. On top of their ludicrously priced manicure ($18 or $19) they charge you another $2 for their "special" top coat. Ladies, don't kid yourselves, it's Seche Vite. The same top coat every salon uses without the extra charge. They put it in a bottle with no label, but I recognized the distinctive smell. They also give you a "discount" for cash. 5% more for using a credit card. Not sure this is even legal...... The manicure itself was sub par. My nails are not even. One of them goes at a strong diagonal. I had to have her redo several nails because they were bumpy. Also, don't let them use their hand cream on your hands. It has a very distinctive ammoniated smell. I did treat myself to a back massage while waiting for my nails to dry, and the chair I sat in stunk to high heaven. Me and my best friend were walking by when I decided for us to go in and do a French tip . Should of never walked in . This was the most HORRIBLE place I have ever been to and experienced. The front desk lady Betty was unbelievably unprofessional . Unclassy and tacky attitude . A customer for a 3pm massage arrived and a immediate issue was obvious She walked to the back and started yelling at someone so loud the entire salon could hear . She comes back and tells the calm gentleman they don't have him . Fast forward I asked for Acrylic French tips. They don't have it but some other technique that looks like it So I agree . The lady didn't even ask me how short I wanted until after I said they are way too short . Fast forward the nails look terrible. They charged me 100 for some basic nails I could of got next down the street for 50. I pay 136 total . I walk out of salon and Betty runs after me and I thought I may have forgot my debit card . And she demands and forces me to tip I didn't want as the service was beyond unprofessional. I give her 100 she gives me back 4 20s and keeps a 20. No I tell her to give me 90 back. It's very unclassy and disgusting for them to even do that. I asked if tipping was mandatory and she ignored me. No one tips for a overpriced terrible service . At least no one I know. What made me really write this review is My thumb nail snapped as soon as I got home and the coat build up for the French tip has been dissolving ... mind this its been 2 days . Waste of money and time for such a bad experience. I really do hope you men and ladies do not ever come here. Read other reviews . I wish I did before I stepped in this place . But I just so happen to live nearby and walk walking by. The only nice touch about this place is the nice Hispanic nail lady . Felt she was excluded from the other ladies there . She overlaps appointments and hardly understands anything you ask for. The workers, especially the older Asians they push to get spa pedicures EVEN if you tell them you have no time... I should have known early on that this was going to be a bad experience. My friend and I were seated in the back of the salon for regular pedicures. We both had room temperate water in our foot bath, and my massage chair was not functioning. We asked for regular pedicures plus an extra 10 minute foot massage. My friend and I received exactly 10 minutes. This is the first time a salon did not provide the standard foot massage then add on the extra time. My friend was in pain as the nail technician worked on her feet. We both decided to skip the polish part of our pedicure because we had had enough. In all, we were there for about 30 minutes max. Our total came to $115 before tip. This was truly a horrible experience and it is upsetting to think that I wasted hard earned money on Niobe's services. read more

The place is nice and clean but it is WILDLY overpriced and my gel manicure is already starting to chip after ONE DAY. There are no signs that tell you the prices nor do they warn you - like other salons - about their higher prices so it all seems very dishonest. A gel manicure and pedicure was $96. I got the shellac nail treatment done which is like a gel manicure. THe polish is supposed to last "up to 3-4 weeks". I got a french manicure polish in the shellac and there was a little speckle chip the 2nd day. They still look pretty good but definitely not perfect. It was pretty expensive compared to some other place's shellac pricing. They were really nice though. read more

I give Spa Niobe a full five stars for the ultimate reason--Rosa. I was in the neighborhood with my friend who is a regular at this spa and I completely fell in love. The decor is exquisite and they truly exemplify what a spa on the Upper East is supposed to look like. I am completely hooked on Rosa's manicures. She gets every crevice of my nails covered with polish and is so gentle with my cuticles. She's the ONLY person I trust with my hands and feet and the only nail technician I'll travel all the way to Manhattan for. Highly recommend this place. read more

I walked in off the street - I needed a mani/pedi and Spa Niobe looked nice. It is very clean, quiet and sleek. I received a friendly greeting (which does not always happen at nail salons, as we all know!) and I was very happy with the service and results. It's not cheap - $56 for mani/pedi - so I wouldn't be a regular, but it was a delightful treat for a tired visitor. I would go again. read more

This place is fantastic. It is more expensive that your average nail salon but it is worth it. It is very clean with a friendly staff. Most importantly the manicure lasts 2 to 3 weeks. Added plus-in the winter the regular manicure comes with a paraffin soak at no extra cost. My hands have never looked better! The pedicures are great as well. read more

Subpar manicure to begin with and when I told the nail associate I didn't like the non-chip polish she sold me on for an extra $6, she insisted I wait until the end. It was worse after the second coat. She tried to charge me another $6 to remove/change the polish. I declined. Two hours later, two of my nails chipped while I went about my day. I went back to remove the polish and get a refund for the extra price I paid for the nonchip polish. Nail associate blamed me for chipping my nails, then refused to remove the polish unless I accepted they wouldn't refund me. Poor customer service, bad manicure. read more

Been a customer for 15 years....not anymore! I got a gel mani and pedi before my trip. Day 3, the polish peeled off 2 of my toes. Then day 6, 2 more.....never happened.
