I came for my nails and they said they have available so i sat there and waited. The owner or maybe the manager started doing my nails but kept getting back and forth and answered the phone 5 times while doing my nails. I tried my best not to complain but having my nails done is supposed to be relaxing but instead i have to sit there and wait while she stops to answer the phone or to get up every now and then. She was too busy doing other things that she don't even pay attention to what she is doing with me. The short: I'm super unimpressed- and won't be back. $32.50 for a sub-par pedicure. The longer: I've walked by this place daily since I've moved in. It's nice, looks clean and is often crowded. I had high hopes. I LOVE me a good pedicure. We made a last minute appointment for 2 at 5:30 pm on a Sunday. We were grateful they were able to take us with 30 minutes notice, but I ended up waiting about an additional 15 minutes... which was fine. The massage chair was comfy... But, overall the pedicure was pretty shitty. My nail technician was rough at the wrong times. Rough with cuticles and filing. Barely rubbed down my heels or big toe. Rushed through a massage and finished before the timer went off. Didn't clean the hot wax off my feet and rushed me off the massage chair (and rushed me to pay) when she finished. My two big toenails are visibly different lengths... They give a $5 voucher for your first time to apply to your next visit, but I won't be back. I live in the neighborhood and have been going to this salon for years to get manicures and pedicures. I went today and a manicurist--Jessica--did something I have never had done in over 30 years. She had cuticle remover gel on my nails which she removed with cotton soaked in acetone. Not only did it burn, but it must have caused a chemical reaction that turned my nails yellow--completely unacceptable as I don't wear polish. I noticed it when I got home and called to complain. They refunded me the cost of the service, but my nails are now stained yellow which I don't think will go away until they grow out. I will never return to this salon and advise others to be very, very wary before patronizing it. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. I would I go to this place just to get regular gel polish every once in a while and it was fine. They are unable to do pedicures properly, powder gel and any type of design/chrome. The only reason I'm writing this review is because I kept giving them chances because I liked the manager and they kept blaming it on me when I would go back for them to fix things. Then they would ask for tip when I would go back 3 days later for something they didn't do properly- and spending more money. If you want to leave a nail salon with polish all over your skin and them telling you to shower or drilling your skin til it bleeds, or worse only having a POWDER GEL last 3 days come here. They also left my nail infected after I tried to just get a polish fixed on one. read more

Like anyone else who lives for their nails and pedicures- I have been waiting for Echo spa to open its doors again. With COVID still rampant, I was pleasantly surprised and quite in awe of their set up. I haven't seen anything like this- truly set the bar high for all other nail salons or any business establishment. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by this huge thermal imaging machine and automatic hand sterilizer. Along with this great addition to the spa and all workers in complete gear and distanced, I felt safe yet pampered altogether. Feels so good to be back! Come in twice now, once for a pedicure and the second time for a 20 min massage. Three weeks later and my pedicure really is still passable! Super professional, clean, and they take their time! My massage, I wish I got the lady's name, but I do a lot of heavy lifting at work and just pulled a muscle, I explained it to her and she totally understood what I needed and even took extra time to make sure my back felt better. I used to love this place. They gave out socks and lotion for xmas, but that does not make up for the terrible gel manicure and the cuts on my foot. The gel is usually amazing but it was scratched before I even got home. I had a $55 pedicure and I came home with cuts on my feet. I don't generally write reviews, but was really unimpressed with their service. I got a gel manicure and the color was uneven, even though it's a deep wine color. The sides and edges weren't painted. It also started chipping in two days, which I've never experienced before. The whole point of getting a gel manicure is so it lasts. Also they weren't exactly cheap. I asked for light brown and got dark brown plus the tinting was uneven with the left being larger than the right. NEVER AGAIN for me...and it should be for you too!! This was just the second time for me there and I am so put off....will never go back and will urge everyone I know to never go there. So, today was yet another tiring day at work. So I decided to pamper myself and go get a mani-pedi and relax in the massage chair. Chose the higher end pedi and a gel manicure. They close at 8pm and I got there at 6.45pm or so. Spent a few minutes, chose the color and was told to sit in a massage chair while a woman started to work on my pedicure. So far, so good. Suddenly, another woman appears by side and starts to work on my left hand for manicure! No soaking of fingers in warm water, no nothing! It was annoying to put it mildly. Someone tugging at your feet, you adjusting to the massage and trying to relax and suddenly another person clipping your nails. Way too much going on for a person trying to relax!! Not happy, but I say nothing and then the manicurist asks me to extend the other hand. At this point, I tell her it is uncomfortable to turn and have her work on the other hand while the pedicure is going on. Either she comes to the other side, or we wait till the pedicure is done. Strong mutterings in a language obviously that I don't follow, loud exchanges with colleagues and then she moves to come to the other side and does the manicure process. Then proceeds to start applying the gel coat, the dryer is not balancing on the arm of the massage chair, and at that point, I put my foot down. I say we can move to the table for the manicure when the pedicure is done (it is almost done by this time) and the time is only 7.15pm. Again, bad facial expressions and she leaves me. I tip the woman who did the pedicure and then see that she takes me to the table and starts working on my manicure too! So anyway, she is the one who does the full job. I go to the final drying station for my feet and ask for change and give my credit card. The woman at the front desk sends the change and the receipt for my signature. It is a princely sum of $98!! I give additional tip to the woman who completed the job and am holding on to a smaller tip for the earlier woman who left me midway. I express my displeasure at being worked on simultaneously when I am trying to relax and she says they were trying to 'squeeze' everything in before closing! Is that even an answer that can be justified?? At this point, the woman at the front desk comes to me and states that it is important that I tip atleast 15%. I am taken aback and ask what she means and explain that my tip amounts to more than 20% and she asks if I am planning to tip the other woman and I say YES of course! And after my feet dry, I go over and tip the other woman and she says "it's okay...." What the heck does that mean??I insist on giving her the money, so leave it on the table and walk out. RIDICULOUS behavior and my god, the insult!! How dare she accuse me of not tipping and since when am I obligated to do as she says?? I don't believe she would have done this kind of 'public shaming' to a person from another background. Woman of color, and there is an immediate assumption about wrongdoing and a high handedness....I object to this kind of treatment strongly and would urge everyone to simply boycott this business!! They don't deserve to be there unless they get some training in respecting people. read more

As I read another review I see its not just me. I also used to love this salon, they put a lot of money into it with renovations. Its in a kind of secluded location off first Ave. Most of the clientele are older women who live in the blg above it or in the area aka Sutton Place. The pros and the cons here goes. Pros: Beautiful job on the renovations, very upscale look and feel, nice lighting gorgeous décor, I actually got decorating ideas from just looking at the details they put into this place, its quite lovely for a nail salon. That said, its not a spa its a nail salon. When they first opened they couldn't be nice enough, the Pedi's gave you an extra touch with some type of callous remover, beautiful bubbly soaking with state of art high end relaxing chairs. We like this, one thing people look for is comfort and clean, that it is. The women that work there used to be very friendly and extra attention was given to each customer again lots of competition in the area so it worked I became a regular in no time, as did many others as in better make an apt, walk ins are taken (no salon turns away money) but suggested to make apt. Now the changes that I began to notice, one day I walked in and all the regular employees ( we had our favs') it was an entirely different group of women same manager or owner not sure which and a relative of sorts who acts as the manager when he is not there. She is nice, also works the floor. I notice a tension between the workers and the owner. Not understanding the language and not really interested he runs a tight ship. Meaning the people are no longer as nice as they used to be, its becoming a bit of your typical hustle and flow nail salon. The upscale treatment is gone so look at the walls and pretty lighting, the manicures are mediocre at best. The last two didn't hold up two days, being a regular and going back with a problem next day she charged me. Oh come on, I am there at least once a week you are really going to charge me for a bad manicure and on nail touch up on 1 nail? yep they did. Here is my pet peeve. you are not permitted to TALK in the establishment. I kid you not. I am not talking about loud cell phone personal calls, I mean if you meet a women next or you drying think men and barber shop its usually a place where women meet and talk "shop" you are given about 3 min then the boss looks at one of the employees and they say are you dry? ok we need the dryer. they get you up and out, NEXT! I am telling you the honest truth, if a call comes in on the phone and you keep it low, you are told or I have been told no calls. I bet most women don't notice this but I notice quite a bit and I found it odd and insulting that after they take my money they throw me out. If it was once ok, twice ok but this happened the other day it was a reunion of sorts a group of us were all in some way in the same field and had things in common and began a conversation, I told the women watch one of us get thrown out. She said oh no that would never happen what do you mean? As soon as I said that they management came over and said just what I said, are you dry?, we need the dryer, get up and get out (was the implication) I told her see? see ya and out I went. I think this is really rude, has business gotten so busy that you no longer care if you have repeat customers? most people probably do not notice but a little area where women can talk and meet is a nice thing, In a world where things are technology driven and people have difficulty meeting new friends I found this rather unsettling and really controlling. Right in the middle of a nice conversation with a women who I wanted to get her card and puff they don't care they want to keep it tightly controlled, no talking silence. You will not hear a word spoken in there some might find it calming I found it really unhealthy. Just my opinion. To me now, its just another nail salon with average at best manicures and in and out is the rule because they are on the clock and time is $$.!! it used to be so nice. read more
