Great pedicures - and I'm afraid that's all I can say! But that it is also very affordable. Of course, I don't ask for anything fancy!

Nails looked really bad and couldn't do a simple design properly. Equipment is outdated and dirty and for the quality the price is too expensive. read more

I asked if they could do a French manicure with gel. I did trust my mail technician when she said she could do the service. My result was uneven white on each finger, And I was very surprised. I ended up expressing that I wouldn't and couldn't leave with this as a paid service and she removed the gel half way. I have to get this fixed now. read more

Moon Spa - Nail Salons Near Me - New York, New York

This is my first time coming to Yelp to review a business. I went to Moon Spa because I live nearby. I called and asked if I could come in for a powder gel manicure and explained I already had gel on so I'd need to soak off. When I got there, no one was wearing gloves which was slightly off putting. As the lady used the drill on my nails to remove the gel, she kept catching my skin to the point where it was bleeding. She put on acetone on cotton balls under tinfoil to remove the gel and then proceeded to put a stained warm towel over my hands. Then things took a true turn. Her removal of the gel from my nails was BEYOND painful. She took the tinfoil off way too early and was filing the gel down with a nail file then using a tool to literally try and scrap the gel off of my nails. It was hurting and my nails were literally breaking in half. At this point I told the lady I just wanted her to finish removing the polish and then I had to go. I left with half of the gel still on and also to discover I have "greenies" due to lifting of my nails from the previous salon I went to. It is days later and my nails are still sore and recovering from the improper job she did attempting to remove the gel. I will NEVER go back to this salon. read more

The best for pedicure and massage!! Love this place! Is reasonable for NYC. Mayan is the best!

Great local upper east side spot for mani/pedi & massages. The women here provide unrushed care & comfort with great value as well. All give off a friendly welcoming atmosphere. read more

I liked my mani. I like my pedi. I love how my attendant took her time. They give quick massages after the service- super plus! This is my 2nd time here. You get a card to check off 10 visits then the 11th is free Oh the pedi chair massages as well. Enjoy! They are open until 10 on weekdays read more

Not sure why this place has bad reviews, but I went today and was very happy with my nails! I went in around 3 pm on a Monday and it was just me. The woman did a great and thorough job with my pedi and mani (which came out to $28). She cleaned them well and took her time. I would definitely come back again, especially since it's the right price. The salon was clean and organized. read more

Came here on a weekend morning for a massage and I wanted to get a 60 minute one but I had to end mine early because it was just so bad First of all, they don't even really have a massage room.. it's the waxing table and they don't even take off the loud noisy paper so it rustles every small movement. Second of all, the bathroom is connected to this room, so if any other clients or workers need to use the loo, they have to interrupt your session, walk through the room, and use it. And then interrupt again on the way out. The massage itself was ok but since the bed is against the wall.... she only massaged one side of my body very well and the other side very poorly. I felt very unbalanced when I left. On the bright side, if you come to get your nails done, the workers are really nice!! But who knows about their skills read more

AFTER PANDEMIC - TREAT YOURSELF to a GREAT Manipedi including massage. The women in Moon Spa are extraordinary and have the best massaging hands in the world. I have had many massages for over 50-years and have never had a pedicure/leg massage and manicure/hand massage and even a neck massage as good as what they do! EVEN at the end of the treatment, I got a neck massage! Wonderful!! read more

Zero stars!! Worst pedicure ever!! Bleeding from both sides of my toe and owner wouldn't do anything about it. Avoid this place at all costs if you know what's good for you!! This place should be closed down ASAP! Plus they don't sanitize their instruments read more

Never going back to this place. Used to go here all the time and they did a great job. Now they are so sloppy and increased the price without warning. Mani/pedi used to be $28 and now $36 with no sign listed anywhere. Stay away! read more

Moon Spa is where I go when I want a cheap regular mani and don't care too much about the quality. I would say they do a mediocre job at best. Nails are shaped a little uneven, cuticles are also uneven and not trimmed very well and the polish is always a little sloppy. I went today with this expectation but found they raised their prices to just about $1 less than other neighborhood places. Definitely rather pay the extra buck at a cleaner place that does a much better job. This will be my last mani there. read more

Came here for a last minute manicure! $9 for a regular mani, $25 for mani-pedi! There were 4 ladies working here around 4:30pm on a weekday -- it got super crowded and busy so I had to wait about 45 minutes... But they were very nice and my nails came out pretty good. They also have a loyalty card. I liked that they make sure you're happy with your nails before you leave. read more

Based off the many great reviews, I decided to give this place a try. Unfortunately I had a very different experience. I found the place to be dirty, from the stains and holes on the towels to the bottom of the foot baths, it just seemed a bit uncleanly. There were also multiple toenails all over the floor. The woman who did my nails was fairly young and frankly had no idea what she was doing. She kept looking over to the other technicians and up at me for some sense of approval. The cutting and filing was terrible as was the awkwardness surrounding the entire appointment. She did know how to polish which was her only saving grace. Afterwards, she gave a back massage while drying that was more painful than relaxing. It seemed like the other technicians knew what they were doing, but the uncleanliness and no a/c ensured that I will not return. read more

Great neighborhood no frills nail salon with the cheapest prices. Pedi is now $24 (up from $20 a year ago) but still a steal. Massage chairs are great. Friendly staff that takes their time. read more

Love getting pedicures here. I am also a fan of their massages! I wish they did tips for nails but other than that it's a great spot.

Great service and atmosphere however, my gel manicure didn't last for more than 3 days before a few nails chipped and the color began to warp. I would return here but would get a regular manicure since the gel color isn't worth the cost. read more

This has been my go-to place in the neighborhood and I would have filled my member card today (10 visits, the next one free) if the manicurist hadn't been dishonest and deny me my last stamp because one of the stamp looked faded... It had always been kind of a gamble to go to this place. My mom got the sloppiest manicure and my husband a very painful pedicure, but somehow, I was always satisfied with my manicures. The complimentary 5 min massage used to be great (they would go under your shirt with hot stones) but now, it's merely a pat in the back! Also, they promote their $25 mani/pedi deal but at $9 the regular manicure and $15 for a pedicure, they actually make an extra dollar every time you choose the combo! Update from July 2018: a regular manicure cost now $11, but hey, they bought a TV! read more

Amazing service - my daughter and I had the best time. Service was fast and super doting!

Pretty standard mani/pedi place. When I get my pedicures here, they usually last approximately 3 weeks (which is great!). Price is reasonable ($25 for mani/pedi, $18 for pedicaure, $30 for gel manicure). Staff is really sweet. They finish your service with a back massage, as you're drying your fingers/toes. Also, they give you a "rewards card", in which they stamp every time you receive a service. After the 10th stamp, you receive a free manicure. read more

Cleanest mani I've gotten in a while. The ladies were very friendly and not to mention the service. They take their time and really do some clean working. The late hours are just a bonus read more

Love this place. Come here at least once a month. Clean, great service and attitude. Doing a great job, patient, listen to every request without making a face, fair pricing, good color selection. You get what you pay for. $9 for a mani. This picture was taken 2 hours after I left salon. Update: I went back a second time to give them a second shot. The pictures are 30 seconds after I left the salon. This was a gel manicure. Worst $34 I ever spent. read more

I walked in on a Monday afternoon at 3:40 for a gel manicure. I did not have an appointment, so I waited 20 minutes (fine). My issue was with the service. While the technician was filing my nails, she kept scratching me on accident. I told her multiple times and pulled away, but I don't think she fully realized what the issue was. Her nails were way too long for a technician. My next issue was with the timing. I planned on being at the salon for an hour, max. But I didn't walk out until 5:20! That's 20 minutes of wait time and 80 minutes for the actual manicure. Two stars because the gel has lasted well over a week and still looks good. If the service improves, I will return but for now I'll walk a few extra blocks to go elsewhere. read more

This was my go-to spot uptown. On the last few occasions I had extremely sloppy work done. I tried very hard to brush it off as one-off experiences but honestly it's just sloppy work. Always polish all over my skin. It's very hit or miss by who works on you. I am perfectly capable of doing my own nails and when I come to the salon I want to know it's someone who's actually better than me doing my nails. I'm going to highly consider finding a new location. I do not like taking a gamble when I come in and spend money on services. read more

Crazy enough to have given them 4 chances to get it right.. one nail tech I got twice is too busy talking and looking at the time while huffing & puffing so she gets polish all over your cuticles & I had to nicely point out the mess for her to clean. She also did a terrible hack job removing my dip powder mani from another salon (she used her little sharp finger nails to claw at me and rip them off while scratching me) I yanked away multiple times and told her "too rough" to which she continued to claw at me anyway ( I should've left) but like a fool I returned a week later for a polish change of my mani next door in there new "extended" location with a diff tech who barely painted polish onto my nails and I have a streaky manicure ... I shouldn't have to tell you have to give a proper manicure.. not returning and my search for a good manicure near work continues :( read more

Came to this place for the first time last week. Apparently they just got new tables and chairs because all of the regular customers were talking about it and how good they looked. The place is small, but clean. Manzu (sp?) did a great job with my mani/pedi. $25 if you pay cash. $2 more for tax if you pay with card. $2 more for quick dry (usually I bring my own but forgot). What I like about this place is they are open late, the price is great, and they give you a 5 minute foot massage and then at the end a quick shoulder rub while your nails are drying. Great experience. Will definitely come here again. read more

This place seems great if you want an affordable $25 mani pedi. However, this is NOT the place to go for a gel mani. Their color selection is tiny--maybe 40 or so colors tops. And they don't have the sample nails like most salons do to pick your color. I had to choose a color based on the packaging and ended up with a completely different than I thought I was getting. I also left the salon with a lot of polish around my nails, which doesn't bode well for the longevity of this manicure. EDIT: it held up fine! Anyway, the people who work here are perfectly nice, the complimentary massage was great, and this seems like a good neighborhood gem for a standard mani/pedi. but I definitely would not come back for gels. read more

I would give this 0 and 5 stars if that makes sense. I went to the smaller location at 9:30am and the woman doing my nails kept telling me I was crazy and that she would call the police. I had already paid even though she had not started the manicure so I went next door to the larger nail salon to wait. The woman did a wonderful job along with a lovely massage and said the other woman doesn't understand English. a language barrier should not excuse someone from calling anyone crazy and threatening police. Go but only to the larger salon - it's worth waiting not to be yelled at. read more

Used to go to Yo-Yo who I thought was the best value in the neighborhood. This is definitely my new spot. My mani-pedi lasted so much longer and they take the time to massage your hands and shoulders for about 5 min no extra charge which is a nice touch. Incredible price and quality! read more

I'm a huge fan! Where else can you walk in and get a mani/pedi at 9:45pm? I've been here twice now and they're 2 for 2 on service and the quality of the mani/pedi. Love the reclining massage chairs and they've been super sweet and accommodating both times. Really can't be beat for $25! read more

In NYC, nail salons are about as ubiquitous as Starbucks. From no frill salons to high end places, we practically have no excuse not to have neat nails. You'd think that the price of the mani pedi would be positively correlated to the experience you get, but that's not the case in this city. And Moon Spa is the perfect example of that working in our favor. The price is right at Moon Spa. Mani Pedi: $25. Vinylux Mani: $11. Everyday. But beyond that, this is the nicest service I've received at a nail salon. I dropped in with two other friends and made sure we were sitting a way that was conducive to our conversation. They did a great job on our manicures; very painstakingly careful. What put me over the moon about this place was how they handled my chipped nail. This was completely fault - a result of carelessness while cooking. I went back to ask them to fix it, fully prepared to give the lady a nice tip. She was gracious the entire time. In the end, when I reached into my wallet to tip her, she insisted that I don't and made me put my wallet away! It was a pleasant surprise. I can name several salons who would gladly take my money. It's unfortunate I don't live in the neighborhood, otherwise this would be my go-to spot hands down. Especially with the loyalty stamp card (11th manicure free!). read more

I never write reviews good or otherwise. I have been coming here for pedicures for 15 years and tip more than generously! I have a rewards card that offers a complimentary pedicure for every 10 visits, worth $30. Today I went to redeem it for a chair massage, and they said that the reward card only entitled me to a 10-minute massage or a manicure worth $20 -I spoke the manager Mia and she said it has always been that way - I walkout and will never come back again! Moon Spa is a sweet spa on 92nd Street between Lex & 3rd. Their mani-pedi is only $25 yet I sprung for an additional 10 min. leg massage for $10....and so worth it! Even after the manicure - they massaged my back wonderfully. It was wonderful. Such a great afternoon! read more

This used to be my favorite place for pedis because every tech did a great job and the free massage was amazing. But the lately every time I'm disappointed. Today my tech didn't even know how to cut my nails correctly. I'm sad to say it was terrible. I hate having to leave a bad review. Didn't even clean under and around the nails!! She tried to clean everything before soaking. And I'm leaving with unevenly cut nails and cracked/dry heels. Now at home literally doing my own pedicure again. read more
