Not sure why this place has bad reviews, but I went today and was very happy with my nails! I went in around 3 pm on a Monday and it was just me. The woman did a great and thorough job with my pedi and mani (which came out to $28). She cleaned them well and took her time. I would definitely come back again, especially since it's the right price. The salon was clean and organized. read more

Came here on a weekend morning for a massage and I wanted to get a 60 minute one but I had to end mine early because it was just so bad First of all, they don't even really have a massage room.. it's the waxing table and they don't even take off the loud noisy paper so it rustles every small movement. Second of all, the bathroom is connected to this room, so if any other clients or workers need to use the loo, they have to interrupt your session, walk through the room, and use it. And then interrupt again on the way out. The massage itself was ok but since the bed is against the wall.... she only massaged one side of my body very well and the other side very poorly. I felt very unbalanced when I left. On the bright side, if you come to get your nails done, the workers are really nice!! But who knows about their skills read more

AFTER PANDEMIC - TREAT YOURSELF to a GREAT Manipedi including massage. The women in Moon Spa are extraordinary and have the best massaging hands in the world. I have had many massages for over 50-years and have never had a pedicure/leg massage and manicure/hand massage and even a neck massage as good as what they do! EVEN at the end of the treatment, I got a neck massage! Wonderful!! read more

Never going back to this place. Used to go here all the time and they did a great job. Now they are so sloppy and increased the price without warning. Mani/pedi used to be $28 and now $36 with no sign listed anywhere. Stay away! read more

Moon Spa is where I go when I want a cheap regular mani and don't care too much about the quality. I would say they do a mediocre job at best. Nails are shaped a little uneven, cuticles are also uneven and not trimmed very well and the polish is always a little sloppy. I went today with this expectation but found they raised their prices to just about $1 less than other neighborhood places. Definitely rather pay the extra buck at a cleaner place that does a much better job. This will be my last mani there. read more

Came here for a last minute manicure! $9 for a regular mani, $25 for mani-pedi! There were 4 ladies working here around 4:30pm on a weekday -- it got super crowded and busy so I had to wait about 45 minutes... But they were very nice and my nails came out pretty good. They also have a loyalty card. I liked that they make sure you're happy with your nails before you leave. read more

Great neighborhood no frills nail salon with the cheapest prices. Pedi is now $24 (up from $20 a year ago) but still a steal. Massage chairs are great. Friendly staff that takes their time. read more

Based off the many great reviews, I decided to give this place a try. Unfortunately I had a very different experience. I found the place to be dirty, from the stains and holes on the towels to the bottom of the foot baths, it just seemed a bit uncleanly. There were also multiple toenails all over the floor. The woman who did my nails was fairly young and frankly had no idea what she was doing. She kept looking over to the other technicians and up at me for some sense of approval. The cutting and filing was terrible as was the awkwardness surrounding the entire appointment. She did know how to polish which was her only saving grace. Afterwards, she gave a back massage while drying that was more painful than relaxing. It seemed like the other technicians knew what they were doing, but the uncleanliness and no a/c ensured that I will not return. read more

Great service and atmosphere however, my gel manicure didn't last for more than 3 days before a few nails chipped and the color began to warp. I would return here but would get a regular manicure since the gel color isn't worth the cost. read more

This has been my go-to place in the neighborhood and I would have filled my member card today (10 visits, the next one free) if the manicurist hadn't been dishonest and deny me my last stamp because one of the stamp looked faded... It had always been kind of a gamble to go to this place. My mom got the sloppiest manicure and my husband a very painful pedicure, but somehow, I was always satisfied with my manicures. The complimentary 5 min massage used to be great (they would go under your shirt with hot stones) but now, it's merely a pat in the back! Also, they promote their $25 mani/pedi deal but at $9 the regular manicure and $15 for a pedicure, they actually make an extra dollar every time you choose the combo! Update from July 2018: a regular manicure cost now $11, but hey, they bought a TV! read more

Pretty standard mani/pedi place. When I get my pedicures here, they usually last approximately 3 weeks (which is great!). Price is reasonable ($25 for mani/pedi, $18 for pedicaure, $30 for gel manicure). Staff is really sweet. They finish your service with a back massage, as you're drying your fingers/toes. Also, they give you a "rewards card", in which they stamp every time you receive a service. After the 10th stamp, you receive a free manicure. read more

I would give this 0 and 5 stars if that makes sense. I went to the smaller location at 9:30am and the woman doing my nails kept telling me I was crazy and that she would call the police. I had already paid even though she had not started the manicure so I went next door to the larger nail salon to wait. The woman did a wonderful job along with a lovely massage and said the other woman doesn't understand English. a language barrier should not excuse someone from calling anyone crazy and threatening police. Go but only to the larger salon - it's worth waiting not to be yelled at. read more

I walked in on a Monday afternoon at 3:40 for a gel manicure. I did not have an appointment, so I waited 20 minutes (fine). My issue was with the service. While the technician was filing my nails, she kept scratching me on accident. I told her multiple times and pulled away, but I don't think she fully realized what the issue was. Her nails were way too long for a technician. My next issue was with the timing. I planned on being at the salon for an hour, max. But I didn't walk out until 5:20! That's 20 minutes of wait time and 80 minutes for the actual manicure. Two stars because the gel has lasted well over a week and still looks good. If the service improves, I will return but for now I'll walk a few extra blocks to go elsewhere. read more

This was my go-to spot uptown. On the last few occasions I had extremely sloppy work done. I tried very hard to brush it off as one-off experiences but honestly it's just sloppy work. Always polish all over my skin. It's very hit or miss by who works on you. I am perfectly capable of doing my own nails and when I come to the salon I want to know it's someone who's actually better than me doing my nails. I'm going to highly consider finding a new location. I do not like taking a gamble when I come in and spend money on services. read more

Crazy enough to have given them 4 chances to get it right.. one nail tech I got twice is too busy talking and looking at the time while huffing & puffing so she gets polish all over your cuticles & I had to nicely point out the mess for her to clean. She also did a terrible hack job removing my dip powder mani from another salon (she used her little sharp finger nails to claw at me and rip them off while scratching me) I yanked away multiple times and told her "too rough" to which she continued to claw at me anyway ( I should've left) but like a fool I returned a week later for a polish change of my mani next door in there new "extended" location with a diff tech who barely painted polish onto my nails and I have a streaky manicure ... I shouldn't have to tell you have to give a proper manicure.. not returning and my search for a good manicure near work continues :( read more

Came to this place for the first time last week. Apparently they just got new tables and chairs because all of the regular customers were talking about it and how good they looked. The place is small, but clean. Manzu (sp?) did a great job with my mani/pedi. $25 if you pay cash. $2 more for tax if you pay with card. $2 more for quick dry (usually I bring my own but forgot). What I like about this place is they are open late, the price is great, and they give you a 5 minute foot massage and then at the end a quick shoulder rub while your nails are drying. Great experience. Will definitely come here again. read more

This place seems great if you want an affordable $25 mani pedi. However, this is NOT the place to go for a gel mani. Their color selection is tiny--maybe 40 or so colors tops. And they don't have the sample nails like most salons do to pick your color. I had to choose a color based on the packaging and ended up with a completely different than I thought I was getting. I also left the salon with a lot of polish around my nails, which doesn't bode well for the longevity of this manicure. EDIT: it held up fine! Anyway, the people who work here are perfectly nice, the complimentary massage was great, and this seems like a good neighborhood gem for a standard mani/pedi. but I definitely would not come back for gels. read more

Used to go to Yo-Yo who I thought was the best value in the neighborhood. This is definitely my new spot. My mani-pedi lasted so much longer and they take the time to massage your hands and shoulders for about 5 min no extra charge which is a nice touch. Incredible price and quality! read more

I never write reviews good or otherwise. I have been coming here for pedicures for 15 years and tip more than generously! I have a rewards card that offers a complimentary pedicure for every 10 visits, worth $30. Today I went to redeem it for a chair massage, and they said that the reward card only entitled me to a 10-minute massage or a manicure worth $20 -I spoke the manager Mia and she said it has always been that way - I walkout and will never come back again! I'm a huge fan! Where else can you walk in and get a mani/pedi at 9:45pm? I've been here twice now and they're 2 for 2 on service and the quality of the mani/pedi. Love the reclining massage chairs and they've been super sweet and accommodating both times. Really can't be beat for $25! read more

This used to be my favorite place for pedis because every tech did a great job and the free massage was amazing. But the lately every time I'm disappointed. Today my tech didn't even know how to cut my nails correctly. I'm sad to say it was terrible. I hate having to leave a bad review. Didn't even clean under and around the nails!! She tried to clean everything before soaking. And I'm leaving with unevenly cut nails and cracked/dry heels. Now at home literally doing my own pedicure again. read more

Only been once but had a great experience. Did the $25 mani/pedi and my mani lasted 10 days (and I've been cooking a ton!) The mani pedi was great, especially the 5 min massage! Very relaxing but also not too slow. Took about an hour total. It seemed to be getting busy closer to 7, so I'd say go early! This is my new fave nail spot in the area, and I'll definitely go back next time I'm in NYC read more

Very happy with their service. Went there today for gel manicure. It was full so had to wait for about 20 minutes. But I just walked in so can't complain. And the ladies were very nice to keep me posted that they will be done soon with the other clients & start mine. It's a small place providing 5 star service. I even saw them helping clients put on their socks & shoes at the end. I mean that's way too much beyond my expectation for the price I paid. Not to forget they give a hot stone back massage while your nails are getting dry... & it was amazing!! This is my spot now!!! read more

The gel selection is POOR & LIMITED, the "By appt" techs are sloppy and money hungry(Randy cut me twice) Did you know you can get an infection from being cut while being rushed out the chair for the NEXT PAYING CUSTOMER!?? ...But that's the shop as a collective and for the water down gel you slinging, y'all should be a bit nicer(In your profession & manners) There's no amount of wall paper or air freshener that will cover up this scam of a business. Cindy and Alex were a staple in the community, however they are TOO comfortable with mediocrity for me! I'm gonna take my coin downtown for a RUSSIAN manicure, where they cut your cuticles because it's part of the service. She kept over applying it and it started to look gunky and uneven. She had to redo a couple nails a few times and she got the powder all over my fingertips and hands. When she finally buffed it out and finished, the color was completely uneven from how much she buffed that it looked splotchy. She also was using a very gloopy bonding agent (making the nails bumpy) and the final coat was diluted so it was not shiny at all. They don't have many options for dip colors so not really sure they're investing in that service much. To top it off she finished at almost 8pm!!! I was not expecting to be there for over 2 hours. The polish on my hands has bubbles and just looks very messy once you look at them up close. It seems like most people come here for gel or acrylic so they don't really put much thought into regular polish. I'm giving them 3 stars because the girl was very nice and she did a good job but clearly the polish looks bad. After spending $40, I feel like I could have done my nails myself.

I initially really enjoyed my nails. I got an acrylic french tip. However, I noticed after three…read moredays that my nails were lifting. I got them done for a wedding, so I wasn't doing anything strenuous that would cause them to lift. I called the salon when I came back from vacation (less than a week) and they were only offering to take off $20. When asked how does that make sense, the person on the phone indicated that people get fill ins at the one week mark so this was normal. I just paid over $100 for this set, and it didn't even last a week. Won't be returning.

Came here for a last minute mani/pedi since my normal nail spot was closed for renovations. I had…read moreheard good things about this nail shop so I thought I'd give it a try. Let's start with the positives. Pros: The inside was really cute and well decorated. The woman who did my toes did a great job and I feel like I was able to communicate well. Also, they have a wide range of colors. They stay open later than most nail shops in the area. Cons: my nails chipped after 2 days!! I got SNS dip powder nails that usually last 3 weeks (when I get them done elsewhere). But when I got them done here, they didn't have the SNS dip powder top coat. So they had to use gel top coat. I told her that that wouldn't work and that she should have told me before that she didn't have the right top coat. But there wasn't much else she could do. And just as I predicted, my nails chipped. They started chipping after about 2 or 3 days with the most basic activity involving my hands. Second con, the price. I paid almost $100 for a regular pedicure and a dip powder manicure. And two acrylic toenails. Overall, I probably wouldn't go here again. But they did do a decent job on my pedicure. ‍

They didn't have my color but she spent like 15 min to customize a color and match my other nails. It came out perfect! She was also very sweet and technique was 10/10. Michelle you are a GEM

I used to come here when it was managed by Gracie and they used to provide good service! This place…read moreis horrible now the woman in the third chair messed up my nails and proceeded to over charge me! I then told her because she changed the price after telling me one price I will not be tipping! She was extremely disrespectful and her coworker proceeded to disrespect me as a customer! They have prices posted but tell customer those are old prices but never post the new prices! They are extremely rude to their clientele that are people of color! I would never recommend this place and believe that it should be boycotted!
