Found this place off of Groupon. Very happy with my gel manicure and regular pedicure. Daisy was very kind and skilled. I enjoy clean and simple nails. I didn't have to ask her to fix a thing. Her attention to detail is great. The salon is also very clean and well kept. Thank you Daisy. I will be back! read more

West Nail - Gel Manicure. Natural shape. - Nail Salons Near Me - New York, New York

Worse mani/pedi received today. I went in with another friend and the workers barely scrubbed our feet and my heel came out rougher than when I went in. Also, when my friend was getting her manicure, the worker didn't even soak her hands in water to soften the cuticles. They rushed us in and out, and what was the most offensive is the front desk staff. The receptionist spoke in mandarin and didn't think we understood but we do! And she was making rude remarks about us while we were paying our bill. I would never go back and I recommend that everyone steer clear of this place b/c the price is not worth the disrespect and lack of service. read more

Beautiful French manicure done on a Saturday afternoon! The salon was super relaxing and quiet! It has been two weeks since this manicure and my nails still look fantastic! The lady doing my nails really took her time!! I would most definitely come back! The only downside is the price!! This manicure was $95! Typical for NYC, everything is expensive. I go to this spa every month for a dip manicure and pedicure. Jess (and Lin, who isn't there anymore) is fantastic! My dip manicures last 5 weeks without chipping or lifting, and I am very rough on my hands and constantly have to wash them in my line of work. I've tried other salons in the UWS, and this is by far my favorite. The staff are all very friendly and appointments are easy to make on the same day, even on weekends. I can't recommend enough! read more

Went here after my massage to treat myself. Pros The salon was clean and quiet. There were plenty of nail colors. Staff seemed friendly. Cons my cuticles were cut dry, nails were not same length, powder does not look smooth on the nails, after 8 days nail cracked. After just a few days my Middle finger nail the edge broke off and I had to file it down. For 55$ I am disappointed to say the least. Dip powder should last around 3'weeks. Whenever I have it done that's how long it lasts. $55 for a nail to break in one week is disappointing. I gave two stars for nice facilities, but won't be returning read more

Had a pedicure. Very little attention to skin. I had to ask to have heels sanded. The polish is ok.

The rating I assigned is based on a comparison of West Nail with other Upper West Side nail salons, not the expensive and chic places on the East Side. That said, West Nail was fine. I received a very good pedicure. Vicki did a fine job. She took time with me, including foot and leg message. The polish job I received was more than acceptable. I liked the place. It is large, clean and incredibly well supplied with nail polishes in various colors from at least 6 different vendors. In short, I will return. The salon is very convenient, being located in the hub of the upper west side. read more

Getting a pedicure here was a delight. It is quiet, clean and feels like an oasis in the middle of the Upper West Side. It's on Broadway between 81 and 82 so perfect place to stop before you go to Zabars or after walking around the Museum of Natural History. There is a sign on the door that says they were offering 20% off all services before 3:00 pm. Of course I arrived at 3:30 and my bare minimum (but wonderful) pedicure was $36. It took about half an hour total. They offer massages and callus treatments as add ons. They have massage chairs for pedicures so that kind of massage is free. The place is very modern and clutter free. A wonderful pedicure experience! read more

Good gel pedicure, terrible foot massage. Added a 10 min massage on and it was the lightest pressure I've ever felt in a massage. She mostly just ran her gloved hands over my lotioned up feet and calves. In no world is the massage worth their price point, but the pedicure IS good. I just wouldn't recommend any add-ons. read more

There is no way this place has a 3.9. The staff aren't that considerate, the place is dirty, chairs are old, supplies aren't the best and also their containers are dirty. I also had a bad experience with this guy and who was quite rough, not that detail oriented, the whole process wasn't neat, left with stuff all over the hands, he didn't check his work etc etc. There is no way this place has a 3.9. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

I feel like Nail places never get a lot of reviews on Yelp. Got my nails done last minute at West Nail. Came in pretty close to closing and they were kind and still accommodated me. My nail tech Cindy even did a really good job at picking a color similar to what I showed her in the only super blurry picture I had. Everyone was nice and friendly. Other staff workers came around to look and were super smiley. My sister got her feet done and they removed all her calluses. The place had glass panels between nail stations for covid and all staff wore masks. It was a nice location and there were so many plants in the room, so it had a nice vibe as well. (Not kidding, they had a giaant Bird of Paradise in the window). They offer good priced massages as well! read more

Nail tech and front desk not really friendly. Nail tech was rough and rude- they didn't have that many colors either . Usually when I ask if they have a color from my picture they try to help, she didn't even attempt to help. Then hovered around for tip. read more

Classic bait and switch. Refused to honor an offer. Very rude too boot. Don't go here.

New favorite nail salon in UWS! Spacious, really clean (up to the ladies room!) and observed all Covid-19 protocols such as temp checks and social distancing through special barriers and spacing between customers. Very much appreciated. The Chinese guy/owner who took my app request was also really nice and professional. Sarah worked on both my pedicure and manicure and she was really good. Loved their special massage chairs for a proper pedicure, I opted for the foot spa option and chose the olive scent which turned out to be a great choice. My feet was super bright, soft and smooth after. Sarah also gave a great foot massage as included in my option. As for my gel manicure, she was efficient and detail oriented. My nails are still looking as good as it looked 5 days before, when I had all these. Really impressed by the salon and Sarah and the staff. Hopefully they get to keep the quality consistent! Also, try to go during the first 2 hours of opening. I was the first customer and had the place to myself and enjoyed the tranquility. Oh and the plants and green stuff adds to the whole zen vibe of the place. Well thought of! Look forward to making this my regular new go to for my nails! read more

There are countless nail salons on the upper west... everywhere for that matter.... First and FOREMOST..... this nail salon has NO NAIL SALON SMELL! This is the most important thing I need to to say first. As soon as you walk in it smells so clean and pure, not one trace of chemical nail polish smell. Every other place I've walked into I've had to walk out. I can't sit with that smell. It's so soothing with lots of beautiful real plants on one side of the wall and greenery on the other side which makes it feel very pretty and soothing. The music is pretty to listen to in there as well. Second, all the people that work there. You are greeted by Kevin, who is always at the front! He is so friendly and welcoming, almost like he's making sure all the people that work inside are good. He's constantly checking to make sure the place is clean and running smooth and that everyone is doing ok, the customers and the staff. The staff on the nail salon side are so accommodating and very happy to do exactly what the customers want. I like my nails a very specific way and my best girl is Vicky. She takes her time, is very detail oriented and works with me every time to make sure my nails are perfect to my liking! I've watched other customers come in and ask for specific things, fun things, cool things, regular things, some people ask for a lot of things ("those people") and I've always watched the girls that work there VERY HAPPY to help in any way they can and try new things at the customers request! There is a very nice vibe amongst the girls that work there themselves which really makes a difference in the comfort of being there! The other important thing to know is the polish and job that they do is durable and stays well. I've never had any paint chip or nails break and I can actually go a FULL two weeks before I need to redo my nails and toes. I can't say enough good things about this salon! The other side is a massage parlor which I've already done a review about. Very professional, very comfortable and designed very well were it has an actual spa feel to it. The prices are great for the services you receive and they always honor Groupons that I hear a lot of people come in with! All around a very nice feeling when you are there!! read more

They were very accommodating for an online appointment made for my mom and I and they did a great job, exactly what we asked for .

As much as I want to gate keep her, Coco is absolutely amazing. She's speedy and turned my gnarly toes into magnificent little beans (quite a feat for me). This place is clean and relaxing. I only put 4 stars because the pricing online is old and doesn't reflect the current pricing. read more

A front desk person name Kevin asked me to pay $5 for tax for my Groupon. He said I should ask Groupon for a refund if I don't like it. Then he says "it's just 5 dollars". How rude and ridiculous. Groupon deals are there for us to purchase ahead time of so that when we go there to get the service we have nothing to worry about but enjoy the service and appropriately tip the nail technician. They should not be offering a deal through Groupon it defeats the whole purpose of "good deal". Not only that but seriously worst customer service. read more

I will not be going here again. The girl who did my nails was very rude. Talking loudly to the other coworkers while you have a client in front of you is a sure way to disrupt and disturb their experience. They asked me to get up and pay midway into my manicure. After I used my Groupon coupon, they asked for tax atop it. Then they proceeded to discuss loudly about the coupon. Why are you making the Groupon coupon available if you don't prefer for your customers to use it? Also, I'm pretty sure there are other services included as part of the "regular" package-- like a hand or back massage -- which they did not do. Classless people who don't know how to run a business. They act like they're doing it for free. Your customers are paying for a service. Act like it. (I still left a tip even though the young girl did not wholly earn it.) read more

Great place for a basic manicure. DO NOT ask them to do anything more. They will tell you they can do it but they cannot. I asked for simple flowers on two nails on each hand. That was $15 extra. Not a bad price. However, the flowers look like a kindergartner drew them on me. They are so far from looking professional. I don't understand how the technician felt comfortable charging me full price with how they looked. I paid $68 in total for nails that I immediately scheduled an appointment at a different salon to fix. Absolutely ridiculous. The petals are all uneven, the centers aren't round, the technician insisted on using a brush instead of the dot tool for whatever reason for everything. Bad bad bad. Definitely not worth my money. I wish I would have stopped her. I felt too bad and didn't want to hurt her feelings, but this is unacceptable. I would have rather her told me she didn't have the skill set to do this manicure instead of allowing me to walk out with this on my hands. read more

Always good. On the expensive side but it's worth it. Sometimes my pedicures last for a month.

I have been looking for a place to get gel manis nearby and was so excited when I saw this place opened. I got a groupon (which is almost the same price as the advertised special $40 for gel mani plus massage) The good: same day weekend appointments Super nice and clean inside Quality gel brands (OPI CND etc) The bad: Gel chipped after less than three days- I'm now four full days and have 3 nails with big chunks of paint missing Massage was painful and I couldn't wait for it to be over lol I was very disappointed with the chipping because I can usually get two weeks out of gel before there are noticeable chips :( Sadly won't be going back. This is the chip after two full days. read more

This was my first time here and OMG! My gel manicure and spa (regular polish) pedicure are perfect !!! Im a very simple "make it or break it gal) and Im ALL about the paint job so if everything is great EXCEPT for the paint job; that's a MAJOR BREAK IT for me. Here, I got it all for a great price. They are a bit pricier than other salons but you actually get what you pay for here. I'll DEFINITELY be coming back here. read more

Yesterday afternoon I stopped by West Nail to have my nails cut down. I knew nothing about this salon. The front desk manager was extremely kind. He didn't balk about the small job. I loved how accommodating they were! I made an appointment but, due to traffic I was 30 minutes behind. Originally, I was told I would have to do the mani-pedi part of my Groupon on another day yet, they were able to accommodate me for both the massage and main-pedi. The massage was great and I highly recommend it! Great pressure distribution, use of hot stones, oil; everything was amazing! The mani-pedi was also great! I also loved that they notified me that the polish I selected (Zoya) was 2 extra dollars before painting my nails so I wasn't surprised by the add on charge ( I also didn't read the sign so that was on me). The only thing I took a star off for was the Groupon tax thing which I was aware of due to reading the previous reviews. I ended up paying tax for both the mani-pedi and massage ($10 total). Overall, it was worth it and a great experience. read more

Found this place through some random online searches and it had the highest rating of all the local salons, so of course I made an appointment! I now understand why it's rated so highly. They're taking more health and safety precautions than other places I've been to (my temperature was checked upon arrival, they document all customers' temperatures regularly, plastic shields, lots of sanitizing). My manicurist was also super attentive and my gel manicure/regular pedicure look great! My only comment is the price differs slightly than what is listed on the website, but I already expected this may be the case since most other salons are increasing their prices to account for extra sanitizing. Will definitely go back! read more

Staff was polite and attentive. Salon was clean and serene. My nails came out perfect. Would visit again when I'm in town.

Been going here since it opened because it's across from my apartment. This last trip I got gel on my nails and 3 nails chipped the next day. I called back and the owner answered saying I can come in for it to be fixed. I explained I was traveling for the week out of the city and I wouldn't be back until the following week. Since nails grow so quickly getting them fixed a week later would be useless. I asked for a % off my next time and I'll send a picture now so he knows it happened. He wouldn't accept that and I told him I'm not happy. He didn't care or want the picture and now I wouldn't go back! He could have been more accommodating and with nail shops on every corner I don't need to give business to people that don't value customer service. read more

I have been coming here exclusively for 2 years and love the deals they offer during the week. The facility is clean and there are lots of color options. However the past three visits have put me off. After the first visit my gel manicure peeled off the next day... I came back and they were happy to fix the nails that peeled off. Then the others peeled off in the following days. The next visit I left bleeding all over my hands and had chips that I had to come back the next day to fix. They were happy to fix again. Then this past week I came in for chrome nails. The nail tech was confused when I asked for this, which should have been my sign to just get regular gel. It took 2 hours. I left with sparkly nails instead of chrome but it was fine. They looked fine. A day later, all of the sparkles came off leaving my nails looking horrid. They ended up peeling off after 7 days. Not sure if I will be returning. read more
