My husband had purchased a mother and I spa mani/pedis for Mother's Day. We chose a gel polish. Unknowingly, that it was going to be an additional $100! My husband had already paid for the services ahead of time. We were never told the pricing for the polish swap. When I called to speak with a manager after we had left, she told me it was probably just a language barrier between the tech and myself. And she's sorry that I was mad I had to pay more. My nails are alright. Nothing fancy. And my mom is not happy with hers at all! The tech was complaining the entire time about it taking too long. She got dip on her nails. Her nails look like she has silly putty on them. They're so thick. And clumpy on the sides. Overall, not a great experience. I'll stick to an occasional massage at the bossier location, never nails again. $300 and nothing to show for it. read more

I had a cut and color it with Amanda Smith and she is amazing! I just had a baby and had not colored my hair in nine months. She is an artist and someone you can actually trust with your hair. I let her cut my hair, however she wanted, and I have never been so happy with a cut. I left feeling like a new woman! I went to get my eyebrows waxed with Jessica and she was great. Unfortunately, my card was charged for someone else's services while I was in my appointment. The receptionists were less than helpful and not very knowledgeable of the refund process. They were very nonchalant about the mistake and no one even apologized. I understand mistakes happen, but charging someone's card without confirming as much as a last name and the card on file is careless. I was really excited for my pedicure because I get one once every other year or so. It's always a special treat and never a common occurrence. But I was pretty disappointed. My first time visiting this location and from the moment I entered the door there was no direction. I had to call to check-in due to covid restrictions, and then when I was told to come on in I was led to the middle of the spa and just left to wander without knowing where I was supposed to go or who I was supposed to be with. Once my nail technician was called over to me, she started the water and it was scorching hot. She left and didn't reappear until the water was filled to the top. I felt awkward keeping my feet above water since it hurt so bad. Then the paint job dried unevenly on both sides, leaving an undone/dripping effect. I could've painted them better myself. My little toe on one foot hurt all week after this appointment. And then at the end when I was brought to the dryer for my nails, I was left and the technician never returned. The timer was set for 3 mins, and I waited until 10 mins wondering if she was coming back. When she didn't, I checked out. Would've expected this out of a bargain/cheap nail salon. if I could give a 0, I would. I did not receive the aveda experience, by any means. I live in Dallas and have been to several Aveda salons and even the school and spa concepts is nothing like the Dallas Ft Worth salons. Spa concepts do not sterilize their tools - gross - (other salons open the bag in front of you). They also do not use all of the aveedo products as the Dallas salons. The tech also didn't ask me if I wanted polish or buff after my mani/pedi. I'm a guy - but that should not matter. If this is all you know - and like it - please keep going. But I am here to tell you - save your $$$ and go another less exp salon. I know from experience that spa concepts is not what the aveeda treatment should be. This is a great relaxing spa/salon in the middle of pretty much nothing. A treat if you are used to being in a bigger city. Came for my boyfriends birthday and got the couples massage with add on facials for us both, lunch and spa pedicures. Massage was very relaxing and quality of massage therapist was high. She knew the perfect pressure and movements to induce total relaxation. (I also just appreciate the extra aroma therapy, hot towels, extra pillows, heat warming table, candles, dimmed lights, and peaceful music)! Then the esthetician came in after about 15 minutes and washed and cleansed my face. Then applied a gel mask for about 10 minutes followed by a scalp massage (your choice between hands or foot and calf). I could have used a bit more touch up, looking at my skin type etc which is why I give this place only 4 out of 5 stars. They then led us into a back room for mimosas, lunch and spa pedicures. Great spot to relax and enjoy the company of a loved one. Recommend especially to couples. read more

They refused my service and made me feel as if I did something wrong by asking. I don't usually take Nellie to appointments, but if they can't make an exception due to a humane issue, then I don't support this type of customer service. I am very displeased with my experience here. I asked the stylist to keep my hair as long as possible and he cut it extremely short. When I told him this (politely) afterwards, he did not even apologize. He obviously cut it how he thought it would look best, rather than doing what I had asked for. Also, I agree with the comment below that the customer service is lacking for an Aveda salon. They didn't even offer me water when I was waiting. I certainly will not return. read more

He has alot reviews praising him already which is why I wanted to book with him in the first place but I'm going to go ahead and keep the reviews coming because he really is great at what he does. I have been to spa concepts for many different services, and other than a gel manicure that didn't work out as planned, have always been happy with them. I had a haircut yesterday. The Covid measures are totally reasonable, and more than many places are doing, which I loved. My stylist was pleasant and professional. She spent a lot of time talking with me about her plan since my hair is curly and easily goes awry in the wrong hands. I love my haircut, it is exactly what I wanted. Choose a different salon. I made an appointment for acrylics, but was told when I got there they did not have time to do acrylics. So I asked for traditional manicure then was pressured repeatedly to get the gel manicure (even though I told the tech I had no way to remove it as I was leaving for Central America for a few months), so I got the gel manicure anyway out of annoyance. I felt like a burden on my technician for even being there; I felt rushed and was not treated like a valued customer. My services were GROSSLY over priced. The atmosphere overall was not friendly. Esthetician performing the lash lift had zero people skills Along with zero skills of the service being performed. The service took much longer than needed and was uncomfortable (I have had many done in the past at a different spa) this one with not very pleasing results. After speaking to staff who placed me on hold I was informed their management was "in a meeting" but they informed her "there is no different pricing". For this Christmas (2018), my son, who lives in Shreveport, gave me a very generous gift card for Spa Concepts. I made an appointment for Friday, Dec 28, 2018 for a mani/pedi. The phone conversation and appointment process was very cordial. I arrived at the Ashley Ridge location after driving the 80 miles from my home in TX. I checked in, 15 min early. They sat me in a corner and ignored me for 30 min. Finally, I found a staff member who located a nail tech and started my mani. The appointment was for dipped nails. She obviously wasn't proficient in this treatment. At one point she sliced open one of my cuticles. She said that happened because "your skin is so thin". The powder/polish was applied past my nails onto my cuticles (she said this happened because my nails are small?). Now, just a week later, the polish has curled up around my nails/cuticles. This treatment is supposed to last a month. The last one I had (at my regular salon in TX, did last that long). The pedi (different nail tech) was ok; however, in spite of wearing spa sandals and not putting on shoes, the toenail polish "rubbed off" later that evening. I have pictures. A qualified tech in TX is redoing my nails today. She is appalled at the sloppy job the Spa Concepts tech did. She thinks the toenail polish rubbed off because the wax applied to my feet during the pedi wasn't properly removed from my toenails. So! I've advised my son, a doctor at WK Pierremont, that I'm grateful for his generous and loving gift, but the experience was not pleasant. There's a balance on the gift card. If I could give negative stars I'd give -10 it was that bad went in with a part of 4 for a bachelorette party cause the bride is pregnant. The spa was clean the people in the front were nice I was the first to show up&&was taken to the back to start my nails that's when everything went wrong. As I was trying to meet the other people in my party I was being rushed back to my chair. The bride to be had the prenatal massage which she loved the rest of us had such a hard time with our nail techs. I got a solar full set when she asked how long I wanted it she first did it to short I asked for it to be a little longer I mean why get fake nails shorter than your real nails. She then does it was to long while talking about me to the other workers if I wasn't with others I would have just left. Not only did they split us up they got mad that we talked across the room I mean I did book a spa party so you would think they would have had us close together. What made me so pissed off was my nail technician keep taking about how long my nails were I'm sorry she miss understood me. She made a comment about how her sister does "nails like this outside not here here we don't do like this" way after the fact that she did the and was just about to finish. She also showed the lady next to me who was getting her nails done and who was a regular customer she then proceeded to say yeah that's too long so now I have 2 workers and a customer talking about me. I'm grinding my teeth trying not to say anything cause I don't want it to ruin my friends party. So she finishes and leaves doesn't even say thank you or offer to make another appointment not like I planned to come back but she treated me as if I was ghetto or something. So I walk over to my friends and wait for them to finish about 20 my nail tech still hasn't come back to check if I was alright but this point I'm just ready to leave. So as I'm go up to the front to pay I leave her $5 I really didn't want to tip her but I worked for tips so I know how it feels not to get one. My bill is $350 I'm like WTF my original price was $270 I knew there would be add ons and maybe taxes but $80 more crazy. I just want to pay my bill and leave cause I still had a bridal shower dinner to get ready for at 6 and it was already 3. So at the dinner I get a text from my bank say they took $80 out of my account which was the cost of the service that the other 2 girls who couldn't make it. Which makes me furious cause even if those 2 girls didn't show we still used their services. So now I paid $430 for an hour prenatal massage 2 manicures 2 pedicures and 1 solar full set RIP OFF. This company is so disgusting please don't waste your time or money her go elsewhere I wasn't going to do a review I was just going to tell everyone I know personally. But after they did some shady stuff like this I had to let people know I created an account just to write this review so what does that tell you. read more

Spa Concepts is the best salon in town. I have enjoyed several services but my favorite is getting my makeup done by JonPaule. He is the most talented makeup artist in Shreveport. He can do anything. He is so knowledgeable in the hottest makeup trends. He is very professional but makes you feel like family. I always feel beautiful when I leave. I highly recommend him for any event you may need your make up done for. I also had the best massage from Steve. I can't wait to go back and have him work his magic again. read more

I went in at 37.5 weeks pregnant to get a prenatal massage and pedicure. The massage was amazing! I was completely relaxed but that quickly changed once I went to get my nails done. The lady kept clipping my cuticles and wasn't very gentle with the clippers. She stabbed me a couple of times and dug really deep with the tool used to get under the nails. She was too focused on her conversation with her coworker. I was tense the whole time, which made my hour massage kind of pointless. Once I got home, my husband wanted to see my feet. He noticed that the paint wasn't even covering my whole toenail on multiple toes! Being this pregnant, I'm not able to see my toes up close, so he took a picture to show me. I definitely wouldn't recommend them for their nail salon. read more

I went in for a much needed massage and facial. A few minutes after my massage started I heard a really loud squeaky noise coming from the air vent. It sounded like a hamster running on a squeaky wheel. I tried to ignore it but it was louder than the music. I really needed a relaxing massage after 14 hours in the car the day before. The sound stopped but when the air kicked back on a few minutes later it started again. I asked the therapist about it and she said "I don't know why they put us in here. It's loud and not as nice as the massage side." I guess since I was getting a facial too they put me on the facial side for both of my services. She said that they knew the noise happened and usually only used that room for body treatments or if they were completely booked. I asked if they were busy and she said no. It happened 4 times and totally ruined the wonderful massage she was giving me. She was very nice and even had me moved to a different room for my facial. The massage was great, I just wish I could have enjoyed it. The facial was pretty good. I had to pay an extra $20 for exfoliation! When I left I found product behind my ear and in my hair. I would go back for both facial and massage if I were guaranteed that I wouldn't be in that noisy room! When I left I told the front desk about it (even though they didn't ask how my services were). They all said they didn't know about the noise and one guy said he would check it out but, nobody apologized. Oh well. read more

I went for a spa day the say before MY wedding with my sister and my niece. I paid for 3 french pedicures, 2 french manicures and and eyebrow waxing. There was a mix up with the staff as to who was to do my nails and my nieces nails. Thank God! The lady that did my nieces's nails was the best part of it all. She took her time and did an amazing job. So if you go, ask for Cristel. The lady that done my nails. HORRIBLE! She rushed though the services. She cut my cuticles to the point there was blood coming from both nails. She didn't get all the old polish off my nails. After complaining to the MANAGER, they had the same woman try to fix my paint. She tried sending me out with one of my fingers partially painted. The up close pictures of my hands for the wedding were horrible. That woman ruined my nails, my wedding day and my pictures!!!
