I would like to express my displeasure with the Wise Pool & Spa company for pool opening service…read more5/19/2021. Upon arriving home to check out the pool, I noticed that it was extremely dirty inside. There was dirt on the steps and some miscellaneous debris inside the pool I noticed my pool vacuum was running along the inside of pool. This was very disturbing and I called the office of Wise Pool but they were closed for the evening so I made several attempts the following day until I finally got someone to take my call. That person identified himself as "Mike"... I shared with Mike why I was calling and I asked what service did he perform for $350 Mike replied - We remove the cover and "clean" and install stairs, railing, chemicals. I asked what did he clean and he said the pool cover! I replied that is not what I assumed I was paying for. The goal was to not have to go through the process of having to clean up the pool from the off season and drain the pool to the appropriate level, clean, remover dirt debris, add chemicals and repair or recommend repairs if my system doesn't meet all check points. Mike replied - We don't do that. It would take up too much time. I could see no more than 6 or 7 people a day and I'm way too busy. I shared with Mike that I had experience with pool service competitors that have opened multiple pools and their service programs include scrub the tiles, sides, steps, floor and vacuum pool in addition to adding chemicals and equipment check. Mike again stated that he doesn't do that because it takes up too much time and sorry for the misunderstanding. I told Mike had I known that I was paying for Wise Pool & spas (he) to remove my cover and add chemicals that I would had solicited a couple neighbors to help perform those few things. His comment to that was well what do you do for maintenance? I replied, I perform my weekly chemical checks & cleaning but that I did not want to open or close the pool and that's why I called on Wise pool & spa to perform it. Again, Mike's only reply was "sorry for the misunderstanding". There are a couple things I find wrong with my conversation with Mike of Wise Pool & spa and those are - 1. There was no attempt made to ensure my satisfaction from the clear lack of service performance that I had received for his rate of $350 for Pool Opening. Only "sorry for the misunderstanding" 2. I have mesh pool cover that is roughly 20' x 35' in dimension and I had taken my leaf blower and cleaned it off the evening prior to my scheduled appointment that they did not call to confirm as they promised. My spouse called that morning to check to see if they were still coming after multiple calls only to get their answering machine. Finally someone answered the sales line and verified our service was still scheduled. 3. Third, based on the dimension of my pool cover, I don't know where Mike could have "cleaned it" as he said he did because I don't have the lay down area around the pool decking to accommodate laying it out flat to clean but then again, I don't know what Mike's - Wise Pool & spa definition of "cleaning" is... There was no evidence that it was laid out in the yard so curious what cleaning occurred. In closing - we decided to use Wise Pool to open our pool this season because we had purchased a new pool vacuum and other products a few years ago from them and they relocated from their former location to less than 5 minutes from our home so we wanted to support them further but after the poor performance in field service and the difficulty reaching anyone by phone even when there are 3 to 4 employees cars parked daily when you pass by their office, we will move on and give our business to a local competitor. What we thought would be an easy project to replace a skimmer, turned into a major project when we…read morefound out we had several leaky lines in our pool pipes. We ended up deciding to replace all the pool pipes and deep end drain. During the process, we also decided to replace several concrete pool deck slabs. Magerrios Brothers were awesome during this whole process and pivoted with us when we made the changes. Jason Fach was our project manager and was super responsive with any questions or concerns. All the people we dealt with were friendly, professional, and helpful to make this an enjoyable process. The project is now complete. The pool is closed for winter so we'll find out how well the pipes work in the summer time but all the pressure testing went well. The concrete slabs look great. We wish we could have done the whole pool deck since now we have weird patches with new versus old, but that was all we could do at the moment. We look forward to contracting again with Magerrios Brothers to renovate the inside of the pool and hope to get Jason again for our project manager.

I had McConnell Pool come out to take a look at my pump and pool. I was informed that my pool PH was good and he wanted to add some additional products to the pool, for algae. One of the techs, added the products that I had outside (because he only had a small amount of chemicals in his truck-so he used mine) and I was charged for "their" products...the pool tech told me that he wasn't going to charge me since he only had a small amount of product to put in my pool. Well when I got the bill in the mail, I was charged for a product that "I" bought and their tech used. No apology, just attitude from the guy who answered the phone. So, I won't be calling them anymore! Oh...the best part is, the tech told me that my pump was fine, guess what? It's not! Thanks for NOTHING!

The limelight collection is even better than I imagined it would be. Sometimes we select one color and other times we just let it rotate through all the colors. Glad to have finally made this purchase back at the end of 2020 - the hot tub is so therapeutic and relaxing. I especially enjoy it on frigid nights during winter when the sky is clear and I can star gaze for as long as I want. :) Everyone at Capital Hot Tubs has always been wonderful. Purchase, delivery, and installation all went smoothly. Anytime we have needed assistance, they are quick to respond whether it is a question about a replacement part or water quality or even when an exterior panel needed to be repaired, the staff go above and beyond. The purchase costed more than Costco or an online retailer, but It's well worth it. There are a lot of logistics when purchasing a hot tub such as delivery, installation, electrical, setup and so many other factors. And also warranty. These folks did an amazing job from electrical to set up and so many other items that's needed when setting up a hot tub. The best part is they provide amazing service afterwards. I've had to call for maintenance a few times and capital hot tubs takes care of it. Recently my control display died and Jay came over and took care of everything and was courteous, professional, and he knew his stuff. On top of that Jay also fixed another item under warranty that I wasn't even aware of. If you're looking for a real hot tub please don't buy online. Instead go to these folks and they will make it great and also after.

I also started exploring the option of contracting out each step as a cost saving measure and realized quickly having a turn key company was more desirable for me. I started to asked around and did online searching for a reputable company who specialized in fiberglass and saltwater pools and was very interested in tanning ledge. I found River Pools and Spas in late 2019. They were super attentive and scheduled time to come see me and talk about my goals. They designed my dream that included a waterfall and fire pit. I was impressed with their transparency and there informative website. Their videos and articles touch every question you could possible have and are absolutely a must to review. They will help you understand the true cost of pool installation and set realistic expectations. This is a very large purchase and you pay for what you get. Fast forward, April 2020 and my pool project was complete. This planning and scheduling started in December 2019 and couldn't of been more timely with the impact of COVID. We really enjoyed the luxury of my at home oasis. Where there set backs and challenges, yes! But weather is not predictable, shipment delays due to COVID and nor was my water table requiring some additional stone. None of this was River Pool and Spas fault and their communication was on point. Every time a challenge presented they did what I would expect a company to do, they communicated and did what was right to fix it instead of ignore you. We called multiple times during their business hours, left several voicemails, and sent text messages as requested, but no one has returned a single call or message. If this is how they treat potential customers at the very beginning of the process, it really makes you question how they would handle a major project or any problems after installation. This franchise comes across as completely irresponsible when it comes to basic communication and follow-through. We've decided to look elsewhere for a pool company that actually answers the phone and respects our time.

It took them 3 months to send the part to repair the recliner (still not repaired). They did not send all the parts. Now I guess im supposed to wait another 3 months before they send the part. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE FROM THEM AGAIN. I REGRET PURCHASING THE SORRY PROTECTION PLAN. At this point I should just purchase another recliner from somewhere else. Really Disappointed in the service.
