Nice group of people. They know what they're talking about. I have purchased a number of items from them and a lot of good advice.

Definitely a good selection as far as fishing is concerned. My problem was customer service/…read moreemployee conduct. No one said a word to me. Which is fine, but I get better treatment at liquor stores haha. The Spanish gentleman that does the fishing report was there, I was going to introduce myself and say I was a fan until I heard him keep cursing up a storm about everything to his coworker. Talking about some tech who came to his house to fix his washer dryer. No big deal, I just kept quiet and rolled through and helped myself. Then I go to checkout and the kid at the register just doesn't say anything. He was doing something, so I had to address him and ask if I could checkout. Then after the transaction he just doesn't say anything like "alright good to go" or "thanks" ..nothing . I was like "ok are we good?" And he says "yea do you need a receipt or something?" Annoyed. I almost lost it. I try to support local tackle shops, but this is the type of stuff that irritates me. Like I'm a nuisance even though we are the ones keeping your doors open. I can get the same products for cheaper dropped off to my doorstep. I want to support, but it's not worth it when you are treated like you're invisible/annoying. Just order your gear online before spending gas money to come here. Good for last minute items, but don't expect any kind of Good vibes/Help/Comradery .

I have a rule, anytime I have to go out of my way to get service in a store, I usually stop…read moresupporting them depending on the circumstances. I went in this store a few weeks back, I went to Sportsman's on Plank Road for a specific pair of binoculars. I asked three different employees for help getting the binoculars since they were locked up. All three deferred to someone else. I left the store and went to Academy Sports down the street and bought the product. I had quite a few things in my basket that I wanted to buy from Sportsman's as well. But they found their way back to the shelf.

I started going to this store in Fredericksburg a few years ago as the other vendor who sells…read morefirearms is so slow that it was painful to buy a gun with this business. Recently I bought a rifle at the Fredericsksburg location, intending to pick up the weapon on 30 June. Upon arrival, my weapon was ready but the Va State Police check was not processed due to horrendous volume of checks being done before new VA laws went into effect on 1 July 2026. So, I had to go home, driving back 50 miles to where I live, and then returned a few days later when Sportsmans called me and told me my VSP check was complete. I picked up my weapon in a few minutes and went home, as these guys are very fast and efficient in their processes to buy guns. Two days after I got home, I received a credit for 50 dollars for my purchase, which I can assume was due to not getting my weapon when they told me to come to the store and pick it up. I did not ask for any refund nor did I suggest any, but Sportsmans gave me one anyway. This is the type of business model that makes life long customers and shows a level of caring about people that I do not see often in any business. Thanks for the 50 bucks and it was a pleasure doing business with this location. (in case anyone is wondering, I am a retired Fed with a LEOSA permit, so there is never any issue with a VSP check for a firearm purchase, with 47 seconds the least amount of time I had to wait for my check to clear the VSP).
