Huge selection of fishing gear and tackle with top brands available. Whatever the fish are biting on at that particular point in the season RW's has it. Live, fresh or artificial bait and lures are available. There is a hunting section that is smaller than the fishing side but has a good selection of decent gear as well. They carry boating equipment and supplies with the exception of high end electronics. Need a big friggin anchor or a mooring point? They have them, dock ladder? They have them too. Need trailer parts? Yep, got them too. I've been to RW's a couple of dozen times and there are still places in the store I haven't had a chance to see yet. Not just for fishing, hunting and boating, they have a nice election of Ladies, men's and kids summer clothing (mostly shirts and shorts) and the best selection of "riverware" on The Neck. That said, I want to acknowledge that months ago, I stopped by to ask some general questions and had a very different experience. The women working the back counter at the time were rude and unhelpful, which left a bad impression. So I understand why some of the negative reviews exist and I'd also be cautious of overly glowing reviews from other users with no review history. In short, Fred's may be hit or miss depending on who helps you, but this visit when I was ready to make a purchase was quick, painless, and left me with no complaints. But they opened up without any pressure and with a smile, then processed the small purchase with as much upbeat, good service at the end if a long day as if I was buying some high-end gear. It made me WANT to buy more. I checked out the shop quickly and they've stocked an amazingly wide variety and quality of stuff in what initially seemed a small space -- mainly noticed the excellent bike gear and a surprisingly good selection of cold-weather items fir tgat warmer zone.
