I explained this to the man behind the counter, and he immediately understood my concerns about the differences in laws and procedures. He took the time to walk me through the entire process, answered all of my questions clearly, and remained patient and helpful as I looked at multiple options. The cashier was also friendly and efficient, which made the rest of the experience smooth and hassle-free. That said, I want to acknowledge that months ago, I stopped by to ask some general questions and had a very different experience. The women working the back counter at the time were rude and unhelpful, which left a bad impression. So I understand why some of the negative reviews exist and I'd also be cautious of overly glowing reviews from other users with no review history. In short, Fred's may be hit or miss depending on who helps you, but this visit when I was ready to make a purchase was quick, painless, and left me with no complaints. Based on this latest experience, I will return for additional purchases.

Their rep hit me up right away here on Yelp, and I made the drive a few days later to look into a Cerakote finish for my latest handgun conquest. Pricey for sure but my word does it look like a brand new firearm. I'm taking my wife's P22 there soon to get some fun color but the regular gunmetal finish I got for this Colt really is impressive. Cool little shop too, and I tbh I did enjoy some of the responses from the owner to a handful of digs on this platform too haha. More SBO should be this genuinely engaged. This place was really cool...I always pop into a place where they have guns and this place had a…read morenice selection of new and used. They had a nice mix of everything from coins to musical instruments. I actually bought a silver dollar graded 69 from 2000 and also bought a nice Mandolin. It wasn't tuned but I can do that. The lady helping me Discounted everything surprisingly and made everything easy to buy. Service was nice, friendly and informative. It made me want to spend money which I did. Again their selection of AR rifles was solid from an LWRC, Daniel Defense to a Smith & Wesson...Handguns were Glock, Sig and Smith & Wesson...I also saw a couple of Colts and Berettas. Nonetheless, I would come here if I were buying a gun. Great little shop and not to far from my aunt. Swing by if you are looking for guns, coins and other Knick knacks!

Last but not least he had the nerve to say to me "I did not mean to confuse you" referring to a simple math equation. Now I don't know what type of advanced degree you need to work in a pawnshop, but if someone was going to be confuse it would not have been me. I'm twice your age son. LEARN SOME RESPECT

I purchased a $1200 scope from them instead of ordering on-line because I support local businesses…read moreand thought that I would be getting good customer service. However, the first time I tried to use the scope, the sight reticle inside the scope was broken. I took it back within the same week purchased and asked for a replacement or refund. They said it was a warranty issue and I had to deal with the manufacture. I contacted the manufacture, and they said no problem - just return it to where I bought it and they would work with them. I did so, and again got a run around without resolving the problem. So much for good customer service. Ended up going to another reputable gun shop where they gave me a replacement without giving me a hard time and said they would deal with the manufacture.

Great experience buying my first gun! Went in on Saturday to look at what they had in stock and ask…read moresome questions. Was greeted at the door and at the gun counter when I walked up. I was up in the air between 2 types of guns I wanted to buy and the gentleman was very kind, knowledgable and had great points of view to help me decide. He gave me several things to go home and think about which I liked. Did not try to hard sell me on what he thought just answered my questions and made several suggestions. Ultimately I went back the next day and made my purchase. Sadly the gentleman was not there but the sales associate that helped me was just as nice and answered any follow up questions I had. Was able to purchase the gun I choose and was on my way in 30 minutes! Background and everything. Now that is great service! If I could add one more thing. I have seen a couple reviews insinuating that they didn't get the service they expected because they were "woman" never did I feel anyone had an issue with me either day or actually anytime I have been there looking. Everyone was great to the ladies who greeted me at the door and rang me up for my purchase to the guys at the counter. Looking forward to taking their HQL course and buying my handgun this summer!
