The project involved figuring out how to best fit in with the existing features of the room (high ceiling, big window, decorative columns, wrapping around corners etc). The design and final build quality was excellent -- and less than half the cost of the pre-made shelving design bids. I had thought that custom built-ins would be more expensive, and they were much cheaper! I'd use them again in a hot second. Per communications -- I had no problems -- keep in mind that they are a working shop and don't have full-time customer service people sitting by the phone all day long. The one other fyi is that they do the cabinetry, not the cabinet painting, so you need to arrange the painting as a second step. (Even with the cost of painting, my project is still thousands cheaper than the pre-made stuff that I had gotten a bid for.)

When building our house, we balked at the price quote our builder provided for our custom built cabinetry. So we decided to head out on our own and try to find better work AND a better price. The first guy we found gave us an identical quote and had no real samples to show us... sooo that was big no. We were beginning to wonder if we should just go with the one that our contractor had recommended. But we found distinctive wood crafts (by googling, i think) and their quote came in at about 70% of the initial number! Of course we thought they must be shoddy, right? WRONG! Their work is top notch. We visited the AIA Center for Architecture to see their work. Pretty darn close to perfection. We were sold, and happily so. Not only is the work precise, perfectly functional, and beautiful to look at, it is incredibly sturdy! My kitchen drawers glide effortlessly, even though they've held a couple of large cast iron dutch oven. Those pots are HEAVY!! Sonny did a great job installing, and made the return trip necessary to fine tune everything. He might come across as gruff at times, but who doesn't? He's a good man who's great at what he does. Nine months later, we are still as much in love with our cabinetry as we were the day we moved in. *if you do visit them at the shop, don't worry! it might be in a bit of a disarray, but this is no reflection on their professionalism, promptness, precision, or exquisite attention to detail.
