Was walking through El Segundo several weeks ago out of sheer nostalgia for my old stomping grounds and came across their signage for sourdough bread (which I love but too lazy to make myself), got a loaf and omg regretted not getting more. Now I try to make it a point to stop by this place whenever I'm in the area. Since it's local, I called on a recent Sunday to check hours and they were out of everything except this custom sandwich they made for me (which was SO good btw). Now I know to pre-order on their website (or email/call ahead) so I get my delicious bread and not risk them running out for me! Highly recommend. Update: You can read the owner's response to my original post and make your own judgments, but it only adds to why we felt awkward and uncomfortable. It's fine that they don't make adjustments to their bagels, but it was the way she said it. As we were waiting for our food, I did want to observe their interaction with other guests to see if it would be similar to ours. I unfortunately have to adjust my review to one star from three originally... Sunday, 8/27/2023 - As someone who keeps their own sourdough starter and bakes sourdough bread, I can appreciate the effort in food preparation. My comments below are meant as constructive criticism. In summary, our experience was awkward... Food: My partner and I ordered egg and cheese bagels. My partner wanted to add lox but was met with judgmental "no" response by the lady behind the food preparation counter. It seems like they don't accommodate adjustments. We simply won't be returning because the experience was rude. Our sandwiches turned out decent. We witnessed a lot of microwaving, so I can't attest to the freshness. Service: We entered the facility and were met with blank stares by the food preparers. The girl we ordered and paid with was sweet though. I was expecting the owner to be more forward and friendly based on other reviews, but that wasn't the case. Extra comments: The bagels are displayed at the back counter where the food preparers were. Customers have no way of gaging what flavor of bagels are available still. There was a point when we were ordering, the cashier thought they didn't have anymore jalapeño bagels, but the lady at the food preparation counter sternly told her that they did. All to say there could be some adjustment for efficiency. read more

The Stuffed Rolls are something special Sourdough balls stuffed with cream cheese and some spectacular ingredients that all compliment each other the Night Owl (Bacon, Cheddar, Onion Jam) is my favorite and seems popular. The Submarine (Salami, Pepperoncini, red pepper, mozzarella), the Olive Oil (Castelvetrano Olives, Feta, Garlic Confit) and the Date Night (Dates, Goat Cheese, Rosemary, Orange) are bangin too. Finally, someone opened a bakery on main street. They make delicious fresh bread everyday including sourdough baguettes and country breads. Get there early because they sell out of their breads almost every day. They also make the best sandwiches in El Segundo that are absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. They also have a few tables that allow you to sit down and enjoy your sandwiches. read more

This place is a hidden gem. I'm an East coaster so I'm always looking for great bagel places in LA, unfortunately there's not many. But this place is fantastic. The bagels are all sourdough so there's this great chew and tanginess. The focaccia is phenomenal. Also, I'd like to add, the fact that they have a 1 star because of some guy who got mad about them not being able to break a $100 first thing in the morning is ridiculous. It's now become a routine and I come here several times a week for a bacon stuffed roll + ice coffee. When I'm feeling extra adventurous, I would get an everything (sourdough) bagel as well. If there happens to be banana bread, I get that every now and then because it's pretty amazing. The biscuits are also phenomenal. I've tried everything now but the sandwiches and since everything else is amazing, I assume those are great as well. Service is always amazing. Ambiance is always amazing. Simple mistake was made, but they handled it piss poor. They called a similar name to mine and gave my food to someone walking in with the same name. I was already waiting 30 minutes. I overheard the lady making the sandwich compline a d say it was my fault with attitude. I find that insulting that she blames me. 40 minutes later I get my sandwich. They have more workers than customers so unless they bake the bread per each order (which the bread didn't seem that fresh) I don't understand how she is that slow. read more

Today, I visited this cozy place because friends recommended to try! I was thinking to try a product and become a frequent customer if I like it since, I work 2 blocks. Unfortunately, it was my first and last visit this place. I decide to buy a sandwich and I advised the cashier I have a large bill ($100). She was kind and polite and told me I don't think it would be a big problem, but let me check. After she opened the cash register she confirmed that we are ok. But then she looked the manager who stand behind the counter and told me let me check with her first. After she asked for permission to serve me and allow me to pay with my large bill I get immediate denied! She told me it's too early to pay with a $100 bill! That point they fail customer service to me! No solution was offered. That's the point where they loose a new customer! I went cross the street to another food business location where they were happy to serve me and they told me they have change but If would no change for a hundred they would find a way to serve me anyhow! Customer first! That's what's customer service about. So the conclusion is if you had a real $100 bill what issue by the federal currency you might be discriminated like me against others with smaller bills! So do NOT go this place if you don't want to be embarrassed! read more

Early days of what looks to be a local gem on Main St in El Segundo. Fresh bread to go, delicious sandwiches, and really well executed bagels in a charming little space with a fun green wall and an limited assortment of comfortably booths. Limited hours and curated sandwich selection while they get going, but had an amazing salami on sourdough with mozzarella and pepperoncinis. Ingredients are fresh to the max. Best Focaccia and Sourdough Bread Ever This place is a hidden gem. The sourdough and focaccia bread are amazing. The El Porto (turkey) sandwich and Tuna sandwich on focaccia will blow up your world. They're only open Thur-Sun and close whenever they run out of bread. The food is too affordable for the quality. The spicy Hot Night vegan roll is my fave, and the bf loves the Submarine roll. The Date Night tastes a bit like a dessert roll, and if they are offering their tuna stuffed roll- it's super delish. The bagels are a bit dense for our preference so we thought it was exciting they offer biscuits BUT we were SUPER bummed to wait in line to order then be told you really have to call ahead first thing in the morning if you want a biscuit sandwich ... apparently they don't bother to reserve amounts for walk-in customers throughout the morning and they all usually get taken first thing by customers who call to reserve them. Probably should advertise this so people don't show up at 9:30am (Friday) on their birthday excited for an egg & cheese biscuit ... birthday or not, I'm still bummed to hear this is a thing cuz I don't typically eat breakfast at 8am. oh, wellll ... still glad to have them in town for the rolls and that lovely kalamata olive loaf. read more
