Good for you Home Depot, I like that you offer recycling for rechargeable batteries and fluorescent…read morelight bulbs. Also having plastic bag recycling is a bonus. Thanks for being eco minded. As I entered, I immediately was attracted to the huge display of Halloween decorations. Wow, you had an entire rack of skeletons. I just moved to a new neighborhood and many of my neighbors go all out for Halloween, now I know where I can get some decorations to compete with their already decorated yards. Since I couldn't get both of my new toilet seats at the other big box hardware, I came to THD and found the second one I needed. They had the Kohler brand in an oval shape, wood with a slow close. So my trip was not useless, I found what I came for. I had no interaction with an employee, I found what I needed by myself and I used self check-out. Now I am wondering, why didn't I get an employee discount. (LOL)

The Home Depot - Tower Grove South: Shopping or Post-Apocalyptic Film Set?…read more Walking into this Home Depot sometimes feels like stepping onto the set of a post-apocalyptic movie--half-stocked shelves, stray carts, and employees wandering around like they've seen too much. Honestly, I'm not sure if they've given up or if someone in Hollywood is secretly filming Mad Max: Hardware Edition inside. That said, if you're willing to dig, you can usually find what you need--though it might take longer than expected. The staff are a mixed bag: some are arguing with each other, others glued to their phones... but when you catch one who's actually on the floor and engaged, they're genuinely willing to help and often go out of their way to assist you. The store itself could use some love--organization isn't its strong suit--but it does carry the essentials, and when they get it right, it works. Just... manage your expectations. Bottom line: you'll get your tools, your paint, your plants--but not without a side of chaos. And maybe, just maybe, a cameo in the next dystopian thriller.
