Chicken fried steak

The restaurant is quaint, the food is excellent. The staff are polite. Always a great place to eat. A nice little trip.

They have just about anything you can think of. From fireworks to fudge. T-shirts, Baja pull overs, bubblegum soda, boiled peanuts I three different flavors... on and on and on. An extensive selection of costume jewelry. Right at the border of Nouth Carolina and Virginia.

Came for breakfast and had lunch...so not mad about that! We didn't do our homework, breakfast is over at 11am Great service, great food and prices weren't bad at all. We will have to go back for breakfast! I had the chicken and bbq platter with cucumber salad and collard greens and the husband had fried flounder and shrimp with the salad bar, he also had a cup of vegetable beef soup with the salad bar. I can't say enough! The fried foods that we both had were lightly breaded and not greasy! The fried chicken was so good, I'm sad I gave my hubby a leg...I wanted it all!!! After lunch we walked next door and browsed the gift shop. We came home with honey, bbq pork, bbq sauce, coleslaw and cucumber salad! Just a short drive from Chesapeake, we will be back!!!

Placed a to go order for minced pulled pork! They're so flavorful and delicious! It's my go to place for pork bbq! They're pretty fast with their services. Where you pick up your food, they have various hot sauce, bbq sauce, desserts, homemade brunswick stew....old school sodas and more! They have difference buildings and a gas pump on hand. For pick up, if you're facing the buildings it is all the way to the left. There's plenty of parking as well

Southland Trade -- we'd call this a danish up north with sweetened cheese filling, but they call it cornbread here

The food was good. Ate here on my way home from a month in GA and was having a hard time with all the fried foods along the road, that are like the only options other than Zaxby's. From the look of it, I wasn't very excited, but the flavor in my chicken and dumplings was layered and artful, and the chicken was good quality, with no creepy parts thrown in there. The fried stuff was pretty linear in taste--fried, but decent quality fried nonetheless. The Mac-n-cheese was standard but not bad. My son ate a lot and loved the danish bread thing they gave us! This is definitely the best option in Moyock, at the head of the Outer Banks!

Detailed & Heartfelt (great for Facebook or longer posts)…read more AJ Gator's is a true diamond in the rough--a family-oriented sports bar with a welcoming and diverse atmosphere. I always sit at the bar because the bartenders here are second to none. They multitask effortlessly, meet customer needs directly, and make sure everyone stays safe while having a good time. Special recognition goes to Katie, who always makes me feel valued. She and Diana check in on me, make sure I've eaten, and even know when to cut someone off--because they care more about your safety than your tab. That's customer service at its finest. The team behind the dream is incredible. Shelly, the manager, runs a tight-knit group of trusted bartenders--Katie, Diana, and Sarah--who keep everything flowing smoothly. Their teamwork creates an environment where veterans, teachers, blue-collar workers, and white-collar professionals can all come together. No matter our differences, AJ Gator's reminds us that we all share the same community spirit. Katie deserves special recognition for her professionalism, kindness, and genuine heart. She is one of the main reasons AJ Gator's feels like home, and why I'll keep coming back.

Unfortunately there was nothing spectacular about this AJ Gators, it's a pretty standard carbon copy. I did notice that it one seemed to be 2 waitresses. We ordered a bunch of apps and a couple entrees. The main thing that raised an eyebrow for me was sitting so close to the drink station, tennis balls at the bottom of all the chairs, margaritas served in normal glasses, and the complete lack of flavor and over frying of the wings. I couldn't eat them and sent them back. The waitress didn't seem too happy about it, she didn't understand initially what my issue was until I flat out said "they just don't taste good at all". I don't think m I would find myself coming back to this location.

My dad also enjoyed his fried fish meal (he subbed the "chips" for a salad). I'm sure for a sports bar scene, it's a great place in a small town to enjoy a game and eat a decent meal. The menu includes a large variety from made-to-order pizza, to burgers, salads, and appetizers galore. My biggest issue from my last visit was with the staff. Our server was overly friendly and flirtatious to my dad in a way that made us both uncomfortable. I could add some comments about what she was wearing but I don't know how to say it kindly or appropriately. I also could not stand having to see the busser mindlessly wipe a table in the same spot for nearly five minutes as he snapchatted and laughed with someone in the parking lot through the window. I know he was snapchatting because he was doing this at the table two away from ours, so his phone was completely visible. He came back about 15 minutes later and did this same routine, at the same table which no one had sat at since. To me, it is disturbing to see the person who is supposed to be cleaning the tables you are eating on, paying absolutely no attention whatsoever to the cleanliness. He literally wiped back and forth in the same spot on the table as he communicated with some person outside of the window and took videos. If you are going to goof off at work like that, at least do it away from the customers. Even though my food was great, I honestly have no desire to return.
