Needed a " house call" for a broken lock. Phone assistant first suggested some things I could try first, but the key would not work. The tech who arrived diagnosed the problem immediately just by " feel" of the way the lock didn't move. Agreed on a replacement and he did the job quickly and skillfully. I gotta be honest I've done business with Southington Security for years. They have changed my locks and added dead bolts and added extra security to the doors etc... But what really pissed me off was when I moved still in CT mind you and approximately 20 mins from Southington so I call them to set up an appointment and was told just to come to my house would be $150 and with just some basic lock changes and re keying would be over $1000. I'm sorry to say you've lost my business for being greedy. I bought the locks I wanted got them keyed alike and hired a handyman to put them in for a fraction of what Southington Security was charging. read more

Southington installed a safe for us, which was a new experience for me. Isabelle in the office was friendly and communicative on the phone. The day of the installation, J.J. and Randy were careful, courteous and meticulous, putting the safe exactly where we wanted it. They put down plywood over our floors to protect them and preserved our walkway, steps and porch. It was a tight squeeze and they double-checked the fit, then explained the safe's operation and walked me through my own opening and closing of it. They showed me where the numbers were so I could register it, answered my questions about time intervals and costs for regular preventative maintenance, and cleaned up before they left. I was unable to open a comination safe at home that hadn't been used in years. I called a local locksmith who referred me to Southington Security and called them. They asked me to send a picture of the safe and even called me when they hadn't gotten it. I sent it and was immediately contacted by phone and walked thru the correct directions. Southington Security is so wonderful that I drive a half hour out of the way to go to them whenever I need keys made! I've been going here since I moved to the state four years ago. The staff is always super friendly and If there is any question when matching keys, they will go over the type of lock the key goes to so they can make sure to cut it just right. The owner, Gil, is a really sweet guy who loves to chat up his customers and really runs the business with a focus on customer service. Personally, I also love that this is a small business I can support (but we are small business owners, so I'm biased). Finally, I should mention that they can cut all sorts of keys for you, unlike Home Depot or Lowes who can't do things like small garage door keys. They are also really affordable in my opinion. I definitely recommend them and plan to continue to use them whenever I need keys made...or if I ever need a locksmith. I know they have those services too, even though I haven't needed to use them yet. read more

Totally impressed with quality of products and services! I purchased a gun safe 18 months ago and mounted it on two filing cabinets to make a desk. Absolutely beautiful as well as functional. When the battery in the keypad had to be replaced, I discovered it had broken loose from the circuit board. I called AMSEC , and Even though it was out of warranty they replaced the whole assembly free of charge as a courtesy!!! read more

Ordered 2 Brown safes, had them shipped here for install per Brown as a suggested installer. Described at great length the scope of work with the owner. He knew how many stair steps, the dimensions of the landing, and the weight of the safe. I signed the damage waiver, resting assured that I was in good hands and for $1500 for an installation I should be. The owner told me they would disassemble the safe, removing the door to reduce the weight and strain on my brand new cherry staircase. The installers arrived, bikers with tattoos, smoking cigarettes outside my house and leaving butts all over the place. They got the safe into my foyer up the cement front steps and when I asked if they were going to remove the door as I was told, they said they didn't have the correct equipment. Next thing I knew the door was off, chipping the paint off my $3000 safe and denting the door and floor as well as bending the corner of the door over. They proceeded up the stairs creaking groneing and slipping with their moterized stair creeper luckily not ripping the nosing off the steps. Scuffing all the paint off my freshly painted walls leaving sweaty stains on the walls. They proceeded to place the safe and bolt it down in place using only 3 out of 4 bolts and not tightening them down so the safe rocks when you open the nearly 600lb door. They also dented my wood floors in my closet where it was installed by rocking the door up on the now folded over corner to maneuver it into place. Once I saw the damage to the safe, I asked if they wanted to remove it now or later? They exited my home without any instruction and leaving the bolts In the "locked" position which I accidentally closed while taking pictures of the damage, further damaging the safe. I assumed they went outside to call their boss and put me in contact with him. Instead they just left. Abandoning me with a new damaged 1800lb safe on my second floor of my home. The safe manufacturer sent paint to try and repair the damage on the safe, I mistakenly let them back in my home to try and correct the damage they did, boasting they also refurbish safes and we won't ever notice the damage. They proceeded to blob paint and filler on the damage making it more noticeable! I could have done better with a rattle can. They will probably comment on this saying I took months to pay them for their botched work, and that they did me a favor by reducing my fees, and storing my second safe which I didn't dare have them install! Run don't walk away from this place! I hope Brown safe doesn't refer them anymore work. read more
