This place is great. I needed a few door keys and a mailbox key made-ideally before I lost them which was inevitable. I walked 50% think it's wasn't possible. They cut the keys in front of me. It took a maybe 2 minutes. This place is fast! I'll definitely be back when I need more keys! read more

Great customer service, pleasant bunch of guys to bounce a "key" question off. Recently I was looking for an out of production Skeleton type key for a cabinet. Wouldn't ya know, they had a bag of old rusty keys & we found a perfect match. Down side, $10 for one rust crusted key. They told me to soak it in a cup of Coke Cola for 2 days & scrub it clean. It worked! Just imagine what Coke can do for, more like, TO your pipes!!! read more

Paul and Dave are great guys. Disclaimer: we've had a few drinks with these guys from time to time, but our relationship is strictly business. Their competition consists of an outfit in Hartford that charged me (in a moment of indecision) *twice* what they charge for re-keying a lock, another firm that makes me wait, and will *never* come out to a remote site for less than $200. Of course, you deserve what you get if you have keys copied at Home Depot or the like -- one or more of the copies isn't going to work and one has to go back again (and sometimes a third time). Among professional locksmiths, there is this place, and then the rest. This outfit is top-notch. They're professional and offer full-service at prices that are low. We must qualify; we're aware that most people don't very often use a locksmith. We've not used this service for automotive key service (although I can tell you I'd trust them to do that; they offer the service). But we *do* own three rental properties and two commercial properties, and are *constantly* using locksmith services. If you don't have your own grinding/cutting rig, use these people. Use 'em. (In fact, even if you don't need them right away, just go to their store and you're bound to find *some* sort of key holder, labeling device, or security gizmo that you just can't do without!). They make us feel safer -- let them know what you need, and perhaps they will make you feel safer, too. read more

I went this morning for help opening an older fireproof box that would not unlock with the key. They dealt with the situation promptly, and in a very short time diagnosed the issue and opened the box! I was sooo relieved that I could get to my important papers!! It was my second time using their services; several years ago they promptly replaced a lost car key. The Locksmith Center should always be your first stop! read more

In and out within five minutes - and just five dollars lighter. I wish all errands could be this convenient! My fiance recommended The Locksmith Center after I'd been putting off getting a spare key made for a friend that's staying with us for the next few weeks. I finally (begrudgingly) made my way over this morning and expected to hang around the store for at least half an hour. Seriously, I paid and left within five minutes, armed with two new spare keys for just $5.20. Friendly, efficient service in a convenient location. Not much more to say but I'll take it! read more

I had lost my car keys, and I went to The LOCKSMITH CENTER, they made a new key, and much less than the dealer. They are very prompt and courteous. read more

If you are looking for a locksmith, look no further. This business is top rate. I was stuck at a hotel by the airport, had a flight out the next day, and didn't have a key for my mobility scooter. It was a real pickle. After calling and calling several locksmiths who couldn't help me, I came across this one. They were a lifesaver. I brought my scooter in and they were finished in less than 10 minutes. Wow! They were highly professional and competent. Start here and you don't need to search further. read more

These guys are awesome. Knowledgeable, friendly, and quick. I have an apartment building in Hartford and used a so called Discount locksmith to rekey & master key the building. After 5 trips and countless hours they still didn't complete the job. The master key would only work on certain units. Dave & Paul at the Locksmith Center mastered and rekeyed all the units in one trip. No aggravation and very reasonable. I am glad I found the Locksmith center in West Hartford and will surely use them for all of my locksmith needs read more

I have been going to the Locksmith Center for a long time. Lately I have found them to be expensive and I don't like dealing with Paul, he has an attitude that is not customer friendly. I think he forgets who the customer is and always acts like he is being put out when I deal with him. I had some locks re-keyed 3 weeks ago and dealt with Paul and he was very unfriendly that I have decide that I am going to use Ct Safe and Lock. I don't know anyone that comes across more like he dislikes his job more than Paul. He is just not a happy person and doesn't make you want to come back. Many of my friends used them in the past and have found the same issue, Price and their attitude it terrible. They also no longer use them. read more

I needed extra keys made because my condo changed locks. I called and was thrilled that they are open on a Saturday (10a-2p). They were quick, friendly, inexpensive. The location was easy to find as well. Plenty of parking in the rear. read more

Outstanding locksmiths!! I have used The Locksmith Center an embarrassing amount of times, but always walked away feeling better than before. Paul is the go to guy for anything related to car locks. I have used their services many many times.

The guys here really helped us out. We are here from California and were having trouble with our car key. They took the time to problem solve and figured out a perfect solution. I am so grateful. I really, really appreciate what they did for us. I left with a huge smile on my face. I highly recommend them. They know what they're doing. read more

My keys were taken accidentally by someone at a big party - nowhere to be found. I couldn't afford the price that the dealer would charge to replace my motorcycle key, and I couldn't find a hardware store that made copies of bike keys. I was referred to The Locksmith Center. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes, with 3 replacement keys for my bike for under $30.00. These guys rock - I would highly recommend them! read more

I have used Dave and Paul at the Locksmith Center several times over the years. They are always prompt and courteous and their store is always clean and well lit. One time, the airport parking valet lost our car key and they replaced it for much less than what the dealer would have soaked us for. Another time, they came out promptly after we moved into our new home and got all the locks onto the same key so we would not have to fumble around with multiple keys like the previous owners. I would highly recommend these guys for your lock and security needs. read more
