Apparently my Dr. took over this practice in Costco, Mobile, AL because the bad reviews from years…read moreago makes no sense! Dr. Haggard is THE BEST optometrist I've ever had an appointment with. He came from a huge practice that he built in Utah to be close to family and Costco and anyone between Pensacola and Mobile should feel blessed he is gracing us with his presence! Anyone who reads my reviews knows I will sing the highest praises for anyone who gives great service and Dr Haggard did not disappoint. He actually went above and beyond. He truly loves what he does and it shows. He works in this tiny office in Costco with his son-n-law who was also pleasant when he greeted me briefly as I was leaving the office. So, onto my experience! I am in Pensacola most of the time when I'm not abroad these days with trips down to my US home (Tampa) when I need to see a Doctor or there's an event, etc. Hubbystanks convinced me before I went back to Panama (C. America) that I should see his new Penacola eye doctor (a very popular optometry practice in Pensacola btw). I did, and the doctor was fine. He even convinced me to try contacts again because Precision 1 material may not have my GPC act up (I got lasik in 2016 because contacts hurt my eyes badly). So, I let the Pensacola optometrist know that I was flying to Panama and I won't be back until mid Summer. He gave me a trial pack of the Precision 1 and he was right. I was able to wear them without issue. So, I get back to the US and give the Pensacola optometry a call in September to let them know I want to go ahead and order the contacts and the person who answered tole me I should have come back within 3 months because now I not only need to do a contact fitting, but I also need to do my whole eyeglass exam over again. Insurance only let's you go to the eye doctor once a year and prescriptions last 2 years, so this made no sense. I decided I'm not giving the Pensacola optometrist any more of my money as I explained I don't live here and I am not usually in the US for more than 5 months at a time. So I figured I'd go to my normal eye doctor in Tampa to get a contact fitting. My mom and I planned on me playing hooky from work since she was out of work during the gov't shutdown to take a trip to Costco. Last minute I grabbed my eyeglass prescription and my empty trial box of contacts and figured I'd try the Costo optometrist. So glad I did. Dr. Haggard not only gave me advice that no other optometrist gave me before, but he also gave me some health tips based on what he could see in my eyes! I swear I walked out of there with misty eyes, because not only did I get THE BEST service since I've been in this area, but he solved a problem for me that I don't think any other optometrist would have. In case you need to know my issue: again I had GPC so contacts were super uncomfortable as soon as I put them in, got lasik, and my lasik has since worn off because I became a content creator and was on my phone and on a computer (IT Work) straining my eyes. I was told that after having lasik that I would probably need reading glasses earlier, but because I use my eyes up close on my phone so much, the opposite happened: little by little I couldn't see far again. I tricked my brain. So now I'm at a -2.00 to see perfectly and need glasses only when it's dark or to see something too far...but living in beautiful Panama for half the year, I want to see well when I go out! Since I don't need reading glasses, when I put on glasses or contacts to see far, it hurts my eyes if I need to see my phone! So I normally take my glasses off to use my phone. Can't do that with contacts! Dr. Haggard had me only wear one contact in my dominant eye. He explained how the brain is smart enough to choose which eye to see out of. When I need to see far my "contact eye" activates. When I need to see close the eye without the contact is working. So I can see normally again with contact. Dr. Haggard also gave me different types and strengths of contacts to try so I can let him know what works best for me. Although Precision 1 works great, I'm going with Total 30 because I don't wear contacts unless I'm out and about and don't need to wear them when I'm working from home. Long ass review, but I hope that this helps someone else with these issues! Dr. Haggard is a Godsend!

A…read morelittle problem recently occurred with the dome on one of her hearing aids coming off and lodging inside her ear canal. It didn't hurt but it was some what bothersome. All the Doctor offices are closed so we opt for the local emergency room. We live in a town of 5000 and are fortunate to have an ER. The Dr in attendance tonight tries unsuccessfully to pull it out. Ends up inflaming the ear canal lining rubbing tools against the lining. To his credit he did his best but just didnt have the tools to do the job. He gives her a pain tablet and refers her to an ENT. As we leave he is willing to try some more but we leave and settle in for the night. Pain pill does it's job. The next morning we call Premier Medical and they have us come on in. After a 75 minute drive we arrive and have very little waiting time. We get to see Dr Kimberly Elliot. Dr Elliot has the dome out in less than 30 seconds. Excellent bedside manners and knew what she was doing. Also she had the tools/instruments to work the dome out. I recommend Dr Elliot for all ENT events in the future.

They didn't disclose the price could go up from $189 for the contact lens fitting until after the contact lens fitting started. *gotcha* They didn't disclose that this Optometrist chooses to require a follow up visit for ALL contact lens fittings. I've worn contacts for over 30 years...never have I been required to do a follow up...until they have me on the hook for $189...oh, it costs $40 to miss an appointment at a place that accepts walk-ins...so never make an appointment with these people. *gotcha* You will have to come back in a week or they will withhold your prescription so basically you will lose $100. They know the follow up visit is not something that all Optometrists do, so the follow-up visit seems worth a mention. Oh, FYI They did not disclose that the contact lenses had to be in your eyes for 4 hrs before they will perform the follow up so you will have plenty of time to kill if you're an honest person. *gotcha* then they dated the prescription the day of the initial visit. So, no bonus for coming all the way back for the follow up. That seems to just justify them charging $70 more than their nearest competitor. The staff in the front where the glasses are made were very friendly and helpful. They did a great job on my $313 glasses. I was really impressed with their utilization of the digital system to measure my pupils and adjust my daughter's glasses so both of us had a great fit. I expected to pay a premium for the convenience of having the glasses immediately...but the people at the Optometrists practice really go the extra mile to beat out all the convenience. I wouldn't recommend coming here unless you had an existing prescription. Otherwise, the Optometrist staff really goes out of their way to not tell you anything...or help you out at all.
