Made an appointment for a contact and glasses prescription for 12:15. Took until 1:15 to start phase 1 and another 30 mins after that for the actual eye exam. Then, another 30+ mins of waiting until I forced the issue and just asked to come back the following day to finish up. Suddenly, prescription appears but no trial contacts. Wasted my Sat afternoon. I want there on Sept 27 to get my eye glasses and contacts exam. They have failed to prescribed me with the right prescription on both of my eye exams. On top of that they have failed to treat me with good service on my repeat eye exams. On the third repeat exam, the manager did my eye exam, treated me with very poor services and they tried to scam me by recommending me to get an eye exam at another place just to come back and purchase the frames from them. They have given me a hard time to get my refund back. I had to get my boyfriend as a back up person to refund me because the sale assistant manager did not want to when I asked him for a refund. Also, they didn't fully refunded me, they charged me for the eye exam they couldn't prescribed, when I asked for 3 of the result of the eye exams they took of my eye. The sale assistant manager didn't want to give me the result, he handed it to me only until the manager came over to the cashier and I told her that he didn't want to give me the eye exam result I paid for. Also almost everything that stanton do is virtually so I would not recommend going to any stanton optical at all. read more

Rude & unprofessional, I have been waiting for glasses over a month, I keep getting the round around each time I call , at one point 1 pair is ready for pick up and on the next call both pair are still being processed. I am being place on hold for a long period of time to come back with unsuccessful results. I have never experienced so much unprofessionalism. I would not recommend this place to anyone. If I could give 0 stars I would. My appointment was for 1030. I showed up on time and there was ONE employee for a store full of people. I waited 45 min past my appointment to be seen. When I expressed I had another appointment later in the day there was no urgency whatsoever even though they're the ones short staffed and running late. As other employees trickle in I still sat and waited. Employee was on her phone texting taking my eye pictures. I asked how much longer until I saw the doctor and she said "idk it's on their time". I'll never be back here again. I have used Stanton optical across three states and this store is the absolute worst. Everything was so easy from booking the appointment online to the check out at the end. Everyone I came in contact with was very helpful and informative. They have a very wide selection of glasses and the prices are great. I got the advertised 2 pair of glasses and eye exam for 79 and I paid exactly that plus the tax. No other hidden fees or charges. I went in on a Saturday and my glasses were promised to pick up in 2 weeks and were done in less than one week. Highly recommend them. Before you choose Stanton Optical for purchasing glasses, make sure to be specific and ask for a customized receipt from the associates and manager and have them each sign it. The reason this is so important is because if they lie to you, they will not be held accountable. And you will not be issued a refund. I went to Stanton Optical on 04/10/2019. The eye doctor was pleasant and nice. Then when I went to purchase my glasses, the associate, Erica, states all the prices for me. She said transitions were an extra $128. I asked her if I could have it refunded if I didn't like it, and she said, "yes. You will 30 days to decided if you'd like a refund back." So I made my purchase, Knowing I could try them out. I picked them up the 16th, wore them, then called back about bring them back in for a refund. I spoke with Jonathan and he said "they do not offer refunds," but I told him what Erica has told me. He then said to "come in on the 22nd where the store manager could issue a refund." I come into the store on the 22nd, and the store manager, Tawyna, told me that "they do not offer refunds, but I had to have the single prescription package anyways so it would come out to the same price." But if you look to the left, I had already purchased that. So I had still not received the refund. I left, and called corporate, and spoke with Trey, who tried calling but Tawyna was gone. I went back into Stanton Optical, and spoke with Jonathan again, who told me how "they have never issued refunds in the past, and how I was putting them out $300 already." So I reminded him that Erica is the one that lied to me, and he should speak with her. But she wasn't there either. On my drive home, I called customer service (corporate) again, and they said "they had sent the store manager an email to inform her of the details." I called customer service (corporate) again this morning, and still no word back. I called to speak to Tawyna, and she had read the email, but would not issue the refund, even knowing that the associate, Erica had lied to me. So she sent her boss an email, asking if I would be refunded. I called customer service again since I still had no answers, and they said, "they would be reprimanding Erica, but they cannot issue me a refund." I asked them, "how are you going to make this right to me?" And they said, "we can't. Our policy does not offer refunds. And we have already saved you so much money with savings. It seems as though she did not actually charge you for the transitions. So it was free to you and free for you to send them back to be repaired." I responded, "but if you look at my receipt, it states that I was charged $128." And she, Amelia, responded, "we do not itemize the specific prices, we just break it down so you can see prices." I was livid by this point, and pointed out how they itemize discounts or anything else that is free. And the head person at corporate, Amelia, responded, "I'm sorry that you're confused, but you didn't pay for the transitions even though your receipt says that you did. We do not itemize." I again asked her, "how are you going to make this right to me since I was lied to?" She responded, "I cannot make this right. Can I do anything else for you today?" Below, I will show my receipt. The left is what I paid for on the 10th, and the right is from the 22nd. My receipt states what I paid for. I hope this helpful for anyone who chooses to use the Stanton Optical on Airport in Mobile. Stanton Optical has shown their true colors. And the company will do nothing to correct this situation for the customer. My first pair of glasses comes back on 05/10/2019, and I'm still waiting for the second pair to even arrive. But I will also have to send it back off to have the transitions taken off. After that, I plan to move my business elsewhere with a company that values its customers. And can offer solutions when the employees deceive the customers. Updated to add: I disputed the case with my bank and got a same day refund! All I had to do was show them my itemized receipt as proof since the company claimed they don't itimize--but their receipts so! read more

I went to Stanton Optical outside Milwaukee. It's a chain, so I think this applies to all of its stores. Stay away. How can you go wrong with a price like $59 for two pair of glasses plus a doctor's prescription? First of all, the "doctor" is not physically present for the examination. It is done remotely with a video and a machine -- and no one in the room to check on the patient. The result, in our case, was a very lengthy procedure and a prescription that is worthless. Easy. The glasses did not help my wife see better -- and when I contacted "customer service" they responded with delaying tactics. The test of a good business is that when a mistake is made, it is corrected promptly. We chose the low-cost option which limits you to about 20 frames. You pay $128 for lenses and an additional charge for frames. We had little time to choose, so went with the low-price and intended to buy something nicer later. Fortunately we only lost $59. When we got the glasses, they made my wife dizzy. They were worse than useless. So I contact customer service. They first gave an automated response "received and being reviewed." Three days later they wrote promising "we will give you an update within the next 24 to 48 business hours" After four days passed, I wrote again insisting on a refund. Two more days have passed with no response. I would advise people to stay away from Stanton. The method for prescribing appears to be unreliable (and you must pay $55 if you buy no glasses from Stanton), the choice of frames for the low price is extremely limited, and if there is a problem at all, you might expect to lose your money. If you went with nicer frames, that could be $200 or more. read more

I just can not believe how much trouble this place has caused me! After thinking it was going to be a great experience from the nice doctor, I was wrong. THIS IS WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. They lost my glasses 3x! They kept blaming their lab, then the lab at Pensacola, then each office worker blamed each other. I received no phone call ever and had to keep calling for updates after weeks passed. Then there was the debacle with my contacts. 1800Contacts could not get a reply from anyone at Stanton Optical for a WEEK. They finally got in touch only to say they couldn't complete my order because Stanton Optical would not give 1800Contacts via phone, and COULD NOT VIA FAX DUE TO THE FAX MACHINE BEING BROKEN. When they eventually DID fax my prescription, THEY FAXED THE WRONG PERSCRIPTION AND STARTED BLAMING EACH OTHER AGAIN. Please do not be fooled by any promotion they have going on to get you in the door! I walked out of there paying $400 for non-designer eyeglasses and an eye exam. That was the worst eye exam I've had in my life. Dr Nguyen is a jerk. I have a 30% hearing loss and he ignored me asking him to repeat himself. Then told me "You're not special. Stanton Optical in Amarillo, TX is a joke. My husband was there 3 wks ago and still hasn't gotten his glasses. His exam was done via satellite. He should've been informed beforehand. They had 3 sets of frames that were included in the special. If he would've gotten the ones he wanted with the script ordered by the doctor, he'd spent over $400. They were asked to ship the glasses to our home. I've called 3 different times. Their latest excuse was they didn't have any boxes to ship them in. Seriously, people. Basically, if he ever gets em, he's getting two sets of ugly ugly reading glasses. None of our family as well as myself will never step foot in Stanton Optical again. Stanton Optical in Mobile, Alabama is very misleading in their prices. The price menu and what the clerks quote over the phone are contradictory. My sister took my son to get an eye exam and glasses and came out of there paying over $200(plus a $150 Groupon). I called and scheduled that appointment and asked for cost for variety of services and the price they quoted to me and what was on the receipt were different. Don't be dragged into their den of iniquity. If you ever need warranty service this is NOT the place to shop. My frames broke and were covered by warranty so I had them order replacements. After a couple of weeks the frames arrived at the store. I went there and they said they could send the glasses to the lab in P'cola and would get them back with a one day turnaround. It is a week later and still no glasses and they supposedly can't get the lab on the phone to find out where they are. We called three times last week and are still waiting for the promised return calls- nice customer service! This is an extremely sloppy operation. I've had nothing but a great experience at Stanton. I recently purchased two of the Groupon packages for $30 each which included a free exam and $200 towards a pair of glasses. Since they were for my kids, it was easy to find frames in the $69 category (and there are a bunch! It's not limited to a small portion of one wall) The lenses for each child were $138 but when it was rung up, the Groupon dropped a portion of the price and so I ended up paying $7.00 for each pair of glasses. There was a 2.5 week expected wait time for the glasses but they called me 3 days, yes THREE after one child's appt. to pick up the glasses. The other was about a 6 day wait. NO STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They were horrible. I have worn contacts for 30 years and never have I received such deplorable service. The information their call center gives is inaccurate and they do not honor that information that got you in the door. I have an eye condition which requires me to change my contacts every 2 weeks (which they were aware of) and after 2 sets of trial lenses of incorrect prescriptions (each 3 weeks apart), 3 months and no correct prescription, they finally got in what was supposed to be a correct prescription for me to try, but instead of the trial pair it was a pair of $250 quarterly wear contacts. They would not confirm my prescription until I had tried them on, which I could not do without paying $250 for a pair of contacts that didn't even suit my needs....I can't wear quarterly wear contacts!! So, they SUPPOSEDLY confirmed my prescription for the trial pair I had been wearing, which weren't right either, but I had to have a prescription to order contacts with so I could change them asap (again, due to my eye condition)! I paid to have the prescription filled only to find it did not work at all!! No idea what prescription they finalized, but it wasn't mine. After MUCH work, they refunded only half of my money (this took 6 months total) and said that since they provided the service of an eye exam, they could not refund that portion...the woman at their sad excuse for a customer service center said you pay for the service of the exam, even if they never get your prescription right. I reiterated this to confirm that WAS what she was saying...she was. I went to my usual income-based place back home & they got my prescription correct the first time and said they had NO idea how STANTON's optometrist could have thought that was a correct prescription. This is my follow up,one year later. The beginning of a nightmare when I went to Stanton Optical. I got two pair(eventually). The first pair came in and they were not even close to my prescription, They went back to south florida where their lab is. Then the second pair came in, they were bad also, so they went back. They finally came in, not exactly right but I took them. It wasn't but a couple of months before I started realizing the coating on the lenses looked like a rainbow and was not clear. So I started using the other pair, two months later, the same rainbow on my lenses.. They wanted to charge me a percentage of what I paid to recoat them. I am going to get new glasses next week. Don't be fooled by their cute little commercial where they make a grunting sound when 1 set of eyeglasses turn into 2 pairs. That sound you hear is you getting it up the wazoo with no grease! Not only is it false advertising saying that you get two pairs of glasses with a free eye exam for $69 dollars...try $550.08 for crappy ones that were not made right the first time and now the second attempt had the nosepiece fall off one pair.
