They falsely advertised and have fraudulent billing practices. They charged more than I was told they would which was $29 for a special eye exam. I only wanted an exam for glasses but they have a mandatory special exam $29.00 that is not covered by insurance. I left paying $84. I had the same exact exam without the special exam at another Lens Crafters in 2024 and while they offered the special exam, it was not required. They also charged for what they called a medical diagnosis. The doctor never looked in my eyes for dry eye or anything else, nor did she prescribe anything. Her diagnosis was solely based on what I told her not what she found herself. Also, she stopped the exam and was talking to me. Thinking the exam was over, I lightly touched and moved the machine back ever so gently. You'd think I broke something the way she yelled at me. I'm guessing I was charged more because I touched her machine. I've never been treated so poorly, both by the doctor and the person checking out, after I started questioning her about the charges and comparing them to an eye exam at the Airport Blvd. location last year. I would have gone back to that location who's doctor was wonderful however they no longer do eye exams. read more

The Doctor and retail floor people are amazing. However the lady who Is the "manager" has the worst customer service I have ever had in my life. I have been with lenscrafters for around 9 years and three years at the mobile location. In a matter of 20 minutes she has totally destroyed my relationship with lenscrafters. Even though we did not have an appointment we were escourted to the back where the eye exams are performed and we were seen almost immediately. It took forever to complete the paperwork mostly because my mom had not been there in 6 years, she's very thorough and and she had a lot of medical history to report. Anyway, she had a very short wait to enter the pre screening exam. Once In there, the technician had a little difficulty adjusting the chair and equipment to accommodate my mom's small frame. So, A staffer came to help him fine_tune the adjustments. Afterward, the pre Screening process went very smoothly. Then, we were taken to a different room for the actual eye exam. Dr. Bradley conducted the exam. He explained the different portions of the eye exam and what each portion tested. Afterward, he explained the difference in my mom's eyes from the previous test and compared it to her results from this exam. Both of us appreciated his taking the time to explain all aspects of her results in a caring and genuine manner. Once we had the prescription, we were ushered to the front of the store, where we were greeted by an eyeglass specialist. This staffer was ultra patient and so per helpful. Because the frames that my mom wanted were no longer being manufactured, the staffer took extra time to find frames that were comparable. Initially, we were told that the material for her frames was not in stock. So. It would take one week for her glasses to be made. After much searching by the staffer, the material was found in house and the glasses were made in one hour. Including the eye exam, the total time investment was about 3 hours. Starting from "half blind" to "I can see better than you". Lol! I'll return when it's time to purchase my own pair of glasses. read more

Great customer service and they always have time for us when I need an adjustment. With two kids and two big dogs I need my nose pieces readjusted often and they are always kind enough to fix them for me. We also only had to wait an hour for our glasses to be ready and us be sent on our way. Highly recommend them. read more

I always go to this place to check my eyes every 3-5 years (yeah I know I shouldn't wait till that long). The front desk medical admins are very kind and so are the doctors. As for the LensCrafters itself, I only bought my glasses from them once years ago. They did give me with good service. However, since they are on the pricier side I decided to get my glasses somewhere else cheaper. read more

I drive over to the mall with my family. My son and I both need an exam and glasses. We checked the website for open and close times. We get there approximately 1:30 in the afternoon. They close at 8:00 pm. The sign out front says "exams available" and "walk ins welcome". The receptionist proceeded to tell me "we are not seeing anyone else today, we are going to leave early. We can make you an appointment for a later date". If I wanted an appointment for a later date, I would not have drove over today. I know that losing 2 customers will not have an economic impact on them but the competition gained 2 customers. read more

Zero stars do not recommend. Ladies don't send your husband in here alone or he might get more than glasses. Mine found himself a girlfriend who hurled herself some mighty fine fourth grade insults at me when I caught her with him. I have complained to the "management" at this location and I posted another scathing review which was deleted. I've bought quite a few eyeglasses from both LC locations in Mobile. My experience have always been problem free. From a men's prospective, this is a great place for glasses. I'm a big fan of Oakley and Rayban eyeware. For men, they have tons of those brands to choose from. They have sales very often, but your finished product will always leave you with sticker shock. They staff there have always been pleasant. When I need glasses adjusted, I have no problem getting it done. The techs seem to have different levels of experience. Hopefully you get one thats very experienced. read more

The office manager is very rude and unprofessional. My daughter made in appointment via her insurance company and input her insurance information. Someone from the office called and left a voicemail to confirm the appointment and stated there would be a $40 cancellation fee. The next day, she arrived at LensCrafters for her scheduled appointment. However, she was told that the exam was not covered by her insurance and it would be a $140 fee. At that time, she stated that "no one mentioned that the insurance would not cover it" in the message they left. She advised that she couldn't pay $140 and would leave. The employee told her that she would have to pay the $40 cancellation fee, my daughter advised that it should be waived because they knew her insurance would not cover the exam when they left the message. The worker said it would be mailed and sent to collections. They are very rude and all about taking money. They knew her insurance would not cover the exam but made the appt. anyway so they could collect ghe $140 exam fee or the cancellation fee. PLEASE AVOID LENSCRAFTERS!!!!! read more

This location charges 39$ for a retinal exam which is not a required exam. Yet his office doesn't allow you to decline this service. Ive declined this service for years. I've been to several LensCrafters locations and this is the first time I was told that I can't be seen if I decline this service. I know I only need readers and find it unnecessary to pay for something I don't need. This is just another problem with the healthcare system. Money hungry for unnecessary services. read more

They saved my Vacation!! I was stopping through Mobile on my way to board a cruise in New Orleans when one of my contact lenses ripped. I neglected to bring another pair and I panicked because my vision is TERRIBLE and I can't go without them. I called around to another lens crafters which opened earlier and they said they couldn't help me because they didn't have a box of my rx in stock. I also tried Wal Mart and America's Best both with no luck, and an attitude in Wal Mart's case. In a last-ditch attempt I tried this Lens Crafters and, while they didn't have a box of my rx, they were happy to go to the trouble of creating a chart for me, and having my home lens crafters fax my rx over just so they could give me a free trial pair. At the end of it all, I left with free contacts, solution (the good kind), and a case!! They were so helpful, gracious, and kind and didn't make me feel like a doof for not bringing extra contacts with me. If I lived here, this would definitely be my store! read more

Went in Sept 29 for a prescription for glasses and contacts. I bought a pair of glasses. 8 months later I'm asking for my contact prescription to get contacts. They have no record of me in their files. (But they have my son, who was with me on the same appointment.) Incompetent. read more

I should have read the reviews on Google prior to booking an appointment. Still I didn't learn from them overcharging me from last year, that was partly due to my not so great insurance coverage. I've been wearing corrective lenses for decades. This would be my second visit to this office, I was in need of new glasses and my old prescription expired, so I dropped in on my lunch break. This was one of few places my insurance covered. The office assistants were nice. They tried to upsell my dilation but I told the girl that I wanted to keep everything under my insurance coverage. Everything went fine until I had to wait 45 minutes for Dr. Davis finish her causal conversation with the patient next door. When she finally appeared, she touched base on the astigmatism in my left eye. I've had an astigmatism in that eye for years and there has yet to be any issues about it. She said she wanted to try a specific contact lens for that eye, she would order me free trial and that I'm to come back for a follow-up. She also suggested that I change my disposable contact lens from daily to weekly. She asked if I slept in them, I said no because I rub my eyes in my sleep and I have symptomatic reactions with allergies which causes severe protein buildup. She said she will write a prescription for some allergy drops. I didn't think I needed them because I haven't had an allergic reaction like that in a while. So I thought I would just not get the prescription. Finally I am about to check-out and the lady at the desk, Sarah, tells me that my final total is over $100. I only assumed that my copay would be $40. Sarah said that my eye exam "became a medical visit because the written prescription for the eye drops and the specialized fit for the new contact lens we are ordering." I was blown away. I had no room in my budget for that. I know I signed the form understanding there would be extra costs but they should at least TELL me as they are working what costs are to be incurred. Sarah saw I was distraught and made and additional comment, "You know, I'm working on getting a coupon for these drops. I don't know what your co-pay is, but these drops are expensive. The coupon will make sure you don't pay more than $25. Oh and the follow-up visit is free." Thanks but no thanks, you obviously know what you were doing and got caught. I don't plan to fill out the unnecessary prescription. I don't plan to use this office again. I'll go back to get the rest of my contact prescription and that's it. No more. I've been seeing an ophthalmologists for, years under basic insurance and my copay was not over $20, let alone any surprise charges for a non-invasive visit. My suggestion is to go elsewhere. A medical office is supposed to take care of their patients, not rob them blind. read more
