Premier Medical Eye Group - Examples of the details I need to go someplace else and get my glasses because this place is horrible

I spent a long time picking out glasses and taking photographs to decide…read more I have insurance, they looked it up in the computer, I selected my frames, they allegedly set them aside for me. And then they didn't have the information they needed, they didn't keep track of the glasses that they allegedly set aside for me, they didn't write any of the information down for me, I took photographs of even the earpieces with all the numbers on it but they did not take my measurements!!! What!!!!???? What!? I live over two hours away and told them I didn't want to come back in except to pick them up! If they needed more information, I measurement they should've taken it while I was there! They would never return my phone calls. The only way you can get through to a person is to call Premier switchboard and get transferred in because they don't accept outside calls. The best I could do is to get transferred to the answering machine which they do not reply to. The cashier did not have the fax number to fax in the prescription, said emails are not approved. She could not get the fax number for me anywhere or anytime. So I asked to be transferred to the Ophthalmologist and they had the wrong fax number. My eye doctor office had mercy on me and had to call to get the fax number and fax it in themselves! It can't be found anywhere online. Useless! Premier is Ridiculous! Horrible customer service! Not trust worthy and lazy! Doesn't pay attention to details. I couldn't get through to anybody who would take any responsibility it was a total nightmare I give up! I'm NOT working with them again. Good luck!

JR Optometry - One of the samples that Dr Haggard gave me to try. Total 30 is very comfortable and doesn't trigger a GPC reaction.

Apparently my Dr. took over this practice in Costco, Mobile, AL because the bad reviews from years…read moreago makes no sense! Dr. Haggard is THE BEST optometrist I've ever had an appointment with. He came from a huge practice that he built in Utah to be close to family and Costco and anyone between Pensacola and Mobile should feel blessed he is gracing us with his presence! Anyone who reads my reviews knows I will sing the highest praises for anyone who gives great service and Dr Haggard did not disappoint. He actually went above and beyond. He truly loves what he does and it shows. He works in this tiny office in Costco with his son-n-law who was also pleasant when he greeted me briefly as I was leaving the office. So, onto my experience! I am in Pensacola most of the time when I'm not abroad these days with trips down to my US home (Tampa) when I need to see a Doctor or there's an event, etc. Hubbystanks convinced me before I went back to Panama (C. America) that I should see his new Penacola eye doctor (a very popular optometry practice in Pensacola btw). I did, and the doctor was fine. He even convinced me to try contacts again because Precision 1 material may not have my GPC act up (I got lasik in 2016 because contacts hurt my eyes badly). So, I let the Pensacola optometrist know that I was flying to Panama and I won't be back until mid Summer. He gave me a trial pack of the Precision 1 and he was right. I was able to wear them without issue. So, I get back to the US and give the Pensacola optometry a call in September to let them know I want to go ahead and order the contacts and the person who answered tole me I should have come back within 3 months because now I not only need to do a contact fitting, but I also need to do my whole eyeglass exam over again. Insurance only let's you go to the eye doctor once a year and prescriptions last 2 years, so this made no sense. I decided I'm not giving the Pensacola optometrist any more of my money as I explained I don't live here and I am not usually in the US for more than 5 months at a time. So I figured I'd go to my normal eye doctor in Tampa to get a contact fitting. My mom and I planned on me playing hooky from work since she was out of work during the gov't shutdown to take a trip to Costco. Last minute I grabbed my eyeglass prescription and my empty trial box of contacts and figured I'd try the Costo optometrist. So glad I did. Dr. Haggard not only gave me advice that no other optometrist gave me before, but he also gave me some health tips based on what he could see in my eyes! I swear I walked out of there with misty eyes, because not only did I get THE BEST service since I've been in this area, but he solved a problem for me that I don't think any other optometrist would have. In case you need to know my issue: again I had GPC so contacts were super uncomfortable as soon as I put them in, got lasik, and my lasik has since worn off because I became a content creator and was on my phone and on a computer (IT Work) straining my eyes. I was told that after having lasik that I would probably need reading glasses earlier, but because I use my eyes up close on my phone so much, the opposite happened: little by little I couldn't see far again. I tricked my brain. So now I'm at a -2.00 to see perfectly and need glasses only when it's dark or to see something too far...but living in beautiful Panama for half the year, I want to see well when I go out! Since I don't need reading glasses, when I put on glasses or contacts to see far, it hurts my eyes if I need to see my phone! So I normally take my glasses off to use my phone. Can't do that with contacts! Dr. Haggard had me only wear one contact in my dominant eye. He explained how the brain is smart enough to choose which eye to see out of. When I need to see far my "contact eye" activates. When I need to see close the eye without the contact is working. So I can see normally again with contact. Dr. Haggard also gave me different types and strengths of contacts to try so I can let him know what works best for me. Although Precision 1 works great, I'm going with Total 30 because I don't wear contacts unless I'm out and about and don't need to wear them when I'm working from home. Long ass review, but I hope that this helps someone else with these issues! Dr. Haggard is a Godsend!

The last time I went years ago the employee argued with me that I had a copay I had NEVER had a copay and only had paid the difference from what my insurance covered for a contact exam to the price that Eyglass World charges. I called my insurance company in office and they confirmed there was no copay. I also read another review with the same experience and insurance! Fast forward to late March 2026 I decided to try them agaun since this person and that doctor at the time is no longer there and chose to pay out of pocket amd file my own claim which they dont take my insurance anymore anyway. Great, because I have filed before with no problem. I received a contact lenses exam with eye and contact lens rx for $135, but they coded it as a contact lens fit to my insurance as a follow up. The pressure in my eyes were also up. So, instead of the doctor discussing any additional charges when I go to pay for my exam they have charged me $15 for rewetting drops I could purchase from Walmart much cheaper. Wellness therapy $35 for drops given for the increased eye pressure instead of discussing it with me and recommending I see an ophthalmologist and follow up because I have INSURANCE that covers this. I paid a total of $185 for going in for a contact exam that I expect to receive the portion for the contact lens exam back from insurance because I pay for insurance for this coverage. I go in today and speak to Becky to ask for another itemized receipt. The same code as when I went in is on the form. So, I explain to her that it is coded as a contact lens fit, but I had an exam. She says she can't change it and that's how the doctor has it set up in the system. She was nasty and extremely unpleasant today just as she was the day I went in for the exam. She is unprofessional and does not have any customer service skills. Sour face and unwelcoming. I walk out to call my insurance and speak with my insurance and she explains that the code listed is a code for a FOLLOW UP and not an exam. I walked back in and spoke to them again telling them that the code that was listed is incorrect. I then ask for corporate's number and she says "she wants corporate number. She wants us to change the code on her receipt." WHO IS SHE?!?! For a professional and her to refer to me as she like she was very dismissive. I have a name!!!!! I will return tomorrow when the doctor who performed my exam is there and I expect for him to update or provide the correct information acceptable to my insurance for my reimbursement. The provider has been paid his money so there should not be a problem to provide what I need to get mine. I am at least pleased with my rx. However, I know this means absolutely nothing to any of you, but no I won't spend my money here nor will I recommend anyone else. It does hurt the business. Peole read reviews and listen to word of mouth and experiences. They upsale and charge you for things you don't need. They are receivers and thieves!!!!!! I know a little but more hands on with this establishment than I stated in this review. Customer service matters when visiting any establishment and for me it makes a difference and is included in a decision to return. It's sad because again I am pleased with my rx, but due to Becky and her lack of kindness, courteous, unpleasant, unprofessional, rude, distasteful manner I wouldn't want to return. I did go in today 4/15 and instead of dealing with her I decided to ask for a manager I explained to him the issue and he came back shortly with the correct receipt and code. Corey McDonald was pleasant, welcoming, professional and kind. I appreciate his manners and professionalism as well as the ability to assist me.

I found the perfect pair of prescription glasses that are beautiful and I can't wait to pick them up. Gucci! They have all the good brands: Prada, Gucci, Versace, Tory Burch, and more!! The women who work there all helped me pick out the perfect pair I'm super happy!

They falsely advertised and have fraudulent billing practices. They charged more than I was told…read morethey would which was $29 for a special eye exam. I only wanted an exam for glasses but they have a mandatory special exam $29.00 that is not covered by insurance. I left paying $84. I had the same exact exam without the special exam at another Lens Crafters in 2024 and while they offered the special exam, it was not required. They also charged for what they called a medical diagnosis. The doctor never looked in my eyes for dry eye or anything else, nor did she prescribe anything. Her diagnosis was solely based on what I told her not what she found herself. Also, she stopped the exam and was talking to me. Thinking the exam was over, I lightly touched and moved the machine back ever so gently. You'd think I broke something the way she yelled at me. I'm guessing I was charged more because I touched her machine. I've never been treated so poorly, both by the doctor and the person checking out, after I started questioning her about the charges and comparing them to an eye exam at the Airport Blvd. location last year. I would have gone back to that location who's doctor was wonderful however they no longer do eye exams.
