And you think you'll wake up with internet haha nope. Then when you call to check on the eta, you hear about how it's the most reliable blah blah blah and it pisses you off more. Battlefield 6 just came out and guess what. No internet. A couple weeks ago, same thing. This is just a dumpster juice of a service. Would not recommend at all. It should damn near be free to use this service. Update*** In case you were wondering if I'm joking or not in my post from 21 hours ago... The internet still isn't working. Still getting the most reliable and faster internet speech and they keep pushing the time that the internet will be on, back by 3 hours. They literally have the worst team ever. Who's fixing the internet? 3rd graders? Anyway Ive called AT&T and I'm switching over to them tomorrow. Btw you can't speak with a representative while the internet is down. So termination isn't possible. Don't know what internet has to do with a phone call when they have their chatters msging 5 msgs back to back because they don't know how to send one detailed msg. Surprisingly I've been paying $115 dollars for this shit internet. At least with at&t it'll be 60 for working internet and faster speeds.

My parents are old and were susceptible to online scams, to which I had to completely rebuild their systems, lock them down, and instruct them on how these things work. That said, I live 20-30 min from them, and playing tech support was always extremely difficult. So I opted to use remote desktop through a secure shell tunnel. Unfortunately, GVTC does NOT give you the ability to configure your own router and create pinholes. Instead you have to ask them to do it and I don't mean to sound insulting, but they were incompetent on how to set it up. They didn't understand very basic networking terms, and after far too many calls and follow ups, I ended up having to pay for a remote desktop service. Additionally, GVTC's fees are high, Internet speeds are slow, the television service is subpar, and their email server did not allow for third party logon (i.e. like Outlook) without going through a complex app approval process. I do not recommend these folks in the least, and if you have no terrestrial based options other than GVTC, go with satellite (Starlink, Hughesnet, or similar). Latency might suck, but believe me that you will prefer it over the poor service provided by GVTC.

UPDATE Global Optics: Two days ago a 2nd, Global Optics MDU post-wire technician came to my…read moreapartment to complete the cable hookup. Daniel did so good a job I am raising my company rating from 2 stars to 4 stars. Daniel located a difficult-to-find cable under the ceiling, installed when the complex was built in 1986. He somehow made the wire live again, then split it off from the box in the bedroom, and brought it through the wall to the living room where it located perfectly to plug into my desktop computer. Daniel restored my faith in Time Warner Cable's judgement hiring Global Optics. Today the TWC Installer came for the modum hookup and his job was easy. He didn't need to add any cable and the computer system works perfectly.

Horrible and dangerous company! This morning I was getting ready to open my back door when a man's…read morepant leg caught my eye. I could barely see him or the four other workers in my backyard because they were toward the far left corner. They were hanging Global Optics wire for Time Warner along the telephone poles and were therefore cutting branches that lined the perimeter. Did I receive a knock on my door or any type of notice that their company was doing work in my backyard? NOPE! This is a huge safety hazard because I own a 180lb Neapolitan Mastiff who would have ripped them to shreds. In fact, that was the reason I opened my back door. Luckily, the workers pant leg caught my eye seconds before and I was able to stop my dog! How did I know it was Global Optics? Well, NOT because of any identifying uniforms. I had to trespass onto private property and look at the logo on the truck so I could call and ream them a new one! Why bother to call? Let's say my dog did bite, drag them to the ground, and inflict irreparable damage. Wonder who would be sued? ME and my MY HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE. I could have lost my house and everything that I've worked for because of these workers. To think, it can easily be avoided if the company would simply knock of people's doors the morning of and say, "please keep pets inside because we may be doing work in your backyard". And let's not forget about the fact that they left my gates open after fence hopping to the neighbors yard. Again, had I not seen them and I let my dog out, he would running around the neighborhood because I would have no idea my gate was open or how it got that way. Then I could have been cited for "failure to maintain my dog" and fined massive amounts of money. In all, this company is not safe and if I ever catch them on my property again without prior notice I will calling the police and having them removed for trespassing.
