Southeastern Retina Specialists were amazing!!! I had a scare with a detached retina. The care they provided from the moment I walked into the office was incredible. They were welcoming and the office vibe helped calm nerves; from the start of my visit until the very end. The office was crowded and I was able to get squeezed in due to the seriousness of my eye issue. Dr. Sullivan was very professional and nice. He cared for me as an individual and not just another patient. The next day he performed my surgery with the same care. The entire staff was fantastic. The day after my surgery my folllow up appointment was with Dr. Agee and he was great as well. The care they put into their patients is impressive and I truly appreciate each of them. Thank you & keep up the fabulous job! read more

We were very satisfied with Dr. Sullivan, Dr. Agee and the staff at both St. Augustine and Jacksonville. The second detachment came a week later and, again, Dr. Sullivan scheduled the surgery right away and made sure my husband was doing well. No one likes to wait, but waiting for the best is not bad at all. Every person has a special job and they do those jobs very efficiently. We cannot say enough for these good folks. I sometimes wonder when they sleep though.

But probably the deal breaker was that for a routine check up after the dental part of the appt. we would've had to wait SIX MONTHS for a cleaning. We've NEVER run into this kind of arrangement in our collective 140 year experience. One explanation, we thought, was that they couldn't hire or retain enough dental hygienists. And why is that? Are there not enough dental hygienists in St. Augustine, or does the practice not pay them enough or otherwise provide a miserable working experience? Who knows, and really we don't care. We are tired with tolerating drama anywhere for whatever reason, so we're going back to our "old" dentist in Orlando. We got two appts. about 10 days out from contacting them. Dr. Trunk is super friendly but also great at what she does. She's also realistic - she encourages strong oral hygiene but doesn't talk to you like a lot of other dentists can (read: condescendingly). She just chats with you. The hygienists are also quick and professional and clearly enjoy what they do. I also had a more major procedure done (root canal and crown due to a mistake from a previous dentist) and that was as pleasant as could be. They are professional and do great work and I have had no issues with the crown since they put it in nearly two years ago.

My fillings were from many years ago. Now instead of $78, it's going to be thousands of dollars. Went to another office getting a filling not a root canal. Also, beware of the topical fluoride for adults....it is a profit center. I have never been asked if I wanted this additional treatment. I researched on line. Make up your own mind. Some research says it is great for adults, other research says it is all about the money. Dental Doctors has changed a lot in the past few years. Maybe it is time to make a switch. It appears their business is not nearly as busy as it once was. These are my views and I am not a doctor or dentist. As always, buyer beware.
