A delightful little corner sandwich shop with gourmet soups and sides…read more I stopped here for a quick bite in Windsor with my family before we took the VIA train to Toronto. There are other businesses nearby, but street parking was free and relatively easy to come by. It's a fast-casual concept place, where you order at the counter then go sit. Not a large restaurant, but maybe room for 20ppl at about 5 tables. I ordered a half sandwich, half salad combo which also comes with a small side (soup or fries). This lunch combo was the most popular option amongst my party and made for a nice balanced meal with everything you could want to taste. The menu is a little heavy on the meat options with just a few select vegetarian items - but as the name Carvery indicades, this is a meat-centric place. Overall I'm giving the food a 10 out of 10. The sandwiches were well made and better than anything you could find at a chain fast-casual restaurant. The sweet potato soup was delicious and well presented. The arnold-palmer lemonade tea combo was great. The "hot bacon" dressing on my salad was indeed hot and made with real bacon. I shouldn't have been surprised - but I was. What a great twist on salad dressing. I'd definitely come back here to try more of the menu. It was all delicious.

After peering in and seeing people in there I realized that it was still open for business! The menu is entirely on the wall and you order and pay at the cash. Lots of combo options including whole or half sandwiches plus soup and/salad combos. Unfortunately all combos came with a drink and I would have preferred just tap water and maybe a slightly lower price. I got whole chicken sandwich plus garden salad and a Diet Pepsi for about $20. Feels a bit pricey for Windsor. Sandwich wasn't bad but a bit too much bread for me. I could have been fine with smaller surface area but piled up a tad thicker. Chicken was moist and sauce and the cheese and roasted peppers went well with it. Salad was fine except the balsamic was overpowering. Flavour was too strong or maybe there was just too much dressing. I wasn't floored but it was ok. I'd go back to try a different flavour.

I was looking for some real poutine and AutoCity definitely did not disappoint…read more There were several types of poutine on the menu, along with many different burger options. Chicken sandwiches too. Definitely something for everyone, including vegetarian options. The fries are fresh cut and delicious. I ordered the vegetarian-style poutine, which featured a delicious vegetarian gravy. The serving size was huge! Definitely enough to share. My veggie burger was excellent. The server asked about the toppings I wanted, and there were many options. Service was extremely friendly and my food was ready quickly. Prices were very affordable, especially considering the large portion sizes. This location was only a couple of blocks from my hotel. Definitely will return for another meal here.

Neither of us…read morehad heard of the joint (despite signs out front stating "As Seen on the Food Network"), so it piqued our interest. The restaurant itself doesn't have parking, but right next to it (Jannette and University) there's a city parking lot with very reasonable rates ($1.50/hr). The restaurant definitely has a "roadhouse" vibe to it. It's not fancy, but what it doesn't have in style it makes up for with friendly, attentive staff and good food. We were greeted almost immediately and advised to sit anywhere we wanted..so we went to their upper section of the restaurant where, within a minute, the bartender came by with menus and took a drink order. Pops come in the largest mason jars I've ever seen...must be just under 1/2 litre. I've never not finished a pop at a restaurant but this one beat me down, they're that big! I ordered their green curry chicken noodle stir fry on rice noodles, my dining companion ordered a cheeseburger with fries. Food was out in a very reasonable time frame and portion size was alarmingly huge. My stir fry was not bad, but did not impress. I found the dish lacked heat (flavour, not temperature) ..it was a bit too sweet for my liking. There was ample sauce (garlic, ginger, peanut flavours), but not enough noodles. The stir fry consisted of red peppers, broccoli, carrots, cabbage and onions, all resting on a bed of very thin rice noodles. Don't get me wrong..it wasn't horrendous..I guess I was expecting more heat and noodles. My partners cheeseburger was massive, with a mound of freshly grated cheddar on top. He said it was excellent but a tad overcooked (not moist). His fries (more like wedges) were not hot, but warmish. He did say the burger itself was deliscious and he struggled to finish his meal as the portion size was huge. Several different staff members stopped by to ensure everything was ok. Very attentive team. I'd come back again if in the area...their menu is massive with several items catching our attention.

Cramdon's is a great place to come and sit, watch any sports game and have some drinks and food…read morewith friends. It's a place to come to enjoy the atmosphere and each others company. I have been coming to Cramdon's for years, and even before it moved to this location and was down the road. I used to come here after work with friends from work and this was one of our many places to hang out. The food as definitely changed over the years, which is fair, you need to grow as a restaurant and try new things. Last night I came with my boyfriend and his friend, we just moved into our new house and I moved back here to Windsor from London and they asked for a suggestion on where to go for dinner and beer and this place immediately came to mind. We arrived and walked in, one of the servers told us anywhere we could find a seat we could sit and we chose a booth, and our server came shortly after that to take our drink orders. My boyfriend and his friend each got a Guiness and I got a Somersby Cider, and we each got water. Browsing the menu we decided on pickle spears, bacon covered pickle spears, potato skins and duck wings, those we ordered first and then browsed for what we wanted for our actual meals. I decided on the chicken caesar wrap with a greek salad, and the guys got shrimp tacos with baked beans and turkey pot pie and a caesar salad each. It all came out in good time. The food was absolutely delicious. The pickle spears were amazing with the bacon. My caesar wrap was tasty, the chicken was moist and the greek side salad was good. My boyfriend and his friend enjoyed their meals and the caesar salads. I had an amazing nostalgic time with them last night and I even saw some long time friends as well. You can't go to Cramdon's and not know someone. I can't wait to come back with friends and feel nostalgic again.
