The food was good! The burger was fresh the fries tasted real good... But the chili I didn't to much care for it tasted like Wendy's chili. I also didn't like the pico de gallo. It didn't taste seasoned at all. Otherwise everything was very good. The service was very fast and they waiters were very kind. Came to check with us and everyone came to help us when we needed it and to see if we did. The ambiance was nice! There wasn't many people in there and it was mostly quiet. The inside looked more spacious than you would think on the outside. Overall I would come again... Just wouldn't get the same items... This place was so awesome, we went twice in one day. The first time, we were on our way back from the beach. I called ahead with a to-go order because we needed to get our little one back to the hotel for a nap. I only managed to call about five minutes ahead, so it wasn't ready when we arrived. But while hubby and little boy stayed in the car, I waited at their bar. I paid and was offered iced water, which I gladly took since it was the middle of a hot summer. The food did take a solid 15 minutes (maybe more), but they claim everything is made fresh. And based on what I tasted, I believe them! We ordered a Wakin' Bacon and upgraded our side to poutine with extra cheese curds. Once little boy was down and we could relax, we dug in. Hubby was absolutely crazy for the poutine. And we both absolutely fell in love with that burger!!! It was topped with cheddar, bacon jam, bacon and an over easy egg. Not only was the burger cooked perfectly and had its own great flavor, all those toppings just made it out of this world! So we went back for dinner. This time we shared the Daddy MAC. We didn't love it quite as much as that bacon jam, but the poutine was still solid. And even more importantly, we tried their milkshakes...... and they were amazing! We tried three. Yes, three! Salted caramel, which was fine. It had the perfect milkshake consistency and so much flavor. But the Oreo was even better!! The little chunks of softened cookie just took everything to the next level. Lastly, we tried the mocha. Woah! Talk about punch-you-in-face flavor! And it had the perfect balance of coffee to chocolate to sweetness!! The service was friendly and attentive for both take out and dine in. They had high chairs for the little one and the waiting area had candy machines which provided quite a bit of entertainment. We can't wait to make another trip to Windsor and eat at this place! Pretty good experience at Mamo! Parking requires either some change in hand for the meters on the street (lot behind it supposedly takes credit cards, but didn't seem to work), or try to find a spot along the residential streets. Service was excellent. Burger was good... maybe not $14 good, but good. We didn't get into the beer selection, but it seems to feature some seasonal local brews that we will try next time. read more

Went over to Windsor to meet a friend for lunch and he suggested we eat here. OMG my burger was so amazing. I had the Wakin' Bacon and i am already thinking about when I can go back and have another one. Even the drive across the border is worth the hassle to eat here. I also had an oreo milkshake and the ice cream was not too sweet and just the right thickness. My friend had the salted caramel shake and he said he has become obsessed with them. I also got the tomato soup as my side - I liked that they offered things other than the traditional "side of fires" (they still have fries of course and poutine because it is Canada you know). I am a soup and burger kind of girl. I had the homemade tomato. I liked it but if you are sensitive to acidic food I would stay away as even I noticed how acidic the soup was - good but if I had tummy issues I would not have enjoyed it as much I am sure. read more

I've been to Mamo Burger Bar twice - once (New Years Eve) I had great service, the other time I most definitely did not. On New Years Eve we were served by a funny, friendly, efficient fellow who made distinctive recommendations (his favourite modifications to a burger) and had helpful answers to our questions. He kept us topped up with water, checked on how we were doing for drinks, and cleared our plates and brought the bills promptly. I'll comment on my service the first time at the bottom of the review, since it was more than a year ago. The burgers are pretty good. They can't be cooked to order, which is a shame, so it's more about the toppings than the burgers themselves, which is always sad when you're someone who really loves a good burger, but this is our plight in Ontario. Of the two burgers I've tried, my favourite was the jalapeno popper burger - the flavour combination of fried goat's cheese, roasted jalapenos, and jalapeno aioli was great, though not as spicy as I'd imagined - I asked for hot sauce. I also tried the blue cheese burger, but the barbecue sauce was a bit sweet for my taste. Husband had an absurdly loaded burger topped with macaroni and cheese and pulled pork, which he said was good, but a bit unruly - it fell apart so there wasn't much mac n' cheese left on it when he ate, and it was mostly a pulled pork topped burger with a small side of mac n' cheese. The garlic fries are tasty, but the level of garlic that you get on them seems to vary widely, and if you get a skimpy serving of garlic they're basically just fries. Between our two orders this time, husband got almost all the garlic. Limited tap list, but solid craft beer offerings (including local ones) and they supplement it with pretty decent tallboy selection. The poutine is vegetarian friendly. -- The first time I went, our server seemed vaguely weirded out by the whole concept of the restaurant, and kept assuring us that the toppings were better than they sounded (though we hadn't expressed any reservations), and that we didn't have to have "weird" (craft) beer, they had normal beer, too. (I sometimes wonder how she felt when we then ordered the weird stuff.) When our drinks ran out, that was it - we didn't see her again until we had been ready to pay for a while. If I'd had this sort of service twice, I'd give the restaurant two stars, but I'm willing to interpret this as the restaurant just getting started, since it hadn't been open for too long. read more

We showed up a bit after two today. They were pretty busy even with three servers working. I think the bottleneck was in the kitchen. Finally, our food arrived. The mixed greens salad was pretty standard but the ranch dressing seemed homemade. It was creamier than most ranch dressings, not as pronounced a flavor. My wife and I thought it was fine but the kids balked. The youngest ordered a custom burger and really liked it. My wife and the oldest ordered the mushroom burgers and they went over very well. I got the Daddy Mac. The mac and cheese was very well done and the pulled pork was acceptable. We all seemed to overlook the fact these burgers had double patties. Extremely filling. I hadn't ordered poutine in over ten years so I gave it a shot. The fries were spot-on and the gravy was delicious but I don't think I'll ever understand cheese curds. Finally got to Mamoburger and was not disappointed. I chose the Italian Job and my wife went for the tomato soup with grilled cheese. The tomato soup was as good as it gets. Obviously home made with a just-slightly-chunky blend of fresh tomatoes and a touch of cream. Awesome! The sandwich was a simple American grilled cheese done traditionally. We were a bit disappointed that it was American cheese but it was executed the way mom would have. (We should have asked what kind of cheese it was, but it did not occur to us until after we had submitted our order. Our waitress did offer to change it but my wife was fine with it.) . Her words: "Best tomato soup I've ever had!". The Italian Job was terrific! A patty of locally produced, fresh ground beef topped with fried salami and prosciutto, mozzarella, basil mayo and lightly pickled red onion. Man that beef was wonderful! No fillers here. Top notch! The garlic fries were just wonderful. Real bits of minced garlic clinging to some of the best fries I've had. Crisp on the outside and fluffy inside. Good stuff! Mamo Burger Bar is the bomb. It is the best burger place I have ever been. Bar none. I, of course, ordered the Mac Daddy since I had heard so much about it. After eating it, I know what the ruckus is about. The Mac Daddy is ooey and gooey and positively orgasmic. I couldn't finish the massive thing, and I wanted to. Boy, did I want to. I was willing to risk the stomach ache of a lifetime, but my husband reminded me that I had a long ride home. So, I left a little bit of heaven on my plate. What some people hadn't mentioned was the garlic fries. I'm a huge garlic person. I eat garlic on everything I can. So I was super excited for these. And they didn't disappoint. The garlic was divine. They actually used fresh garlic and just the right amount, too. So many places opt for garlic powder or garlic salt. If they use fresh garlic, they never use enough. But Mamo Burger did. The fries were absolute perfection, and I wanted more. Considering the heaping pile they gave me, that was saying something. Also, Mamo had a great menu for my daughter. She is a picky eater, but she found something to eat, and she actually loved it. She even wanted to go back the next night. But alas, we couldn't squeeze it in to our schedule. At Mamo Burger Bar, I ordered a burger called the Daddy Mac, which was highly recommended by our server. Since I'm originally from the US, I wanted to try Poutine, and with no offense to Canadians, I was not impressed. The cheese curds on the Poutine was dry and not at all what I was expecting. However, I will say the burger's flavor and rich mac and cheese made up for it. The actual restaurant was mostly clean, but the bathrooms looked like they could use a quick cleaning. Heard amazing reviews of this restaurant so went there yesterday with a party of 10 for a birthday. Definitely lived up to the hype! We all ordered burgers including: Daddy Mac, California, Hawai-Five-O, Italian Job, Shroomin... We sampled each other's burgers and they were all delicious! I personally got my burger wrapped in lettuce and was still so full afterwards. The portions and prices are just right - appetizers are tasty as well. First time eating here after friends had been gushing about it forever. The atmosphere is very pleasant, and the service was excellent. The two people I came with seemed to enjoy their food, but mine was only meh. I had the Mama Rita with a veggie patty, and to be honest - I've had better burgers at A&W. I appreciate that they clearly make their own veggie patties, but to me, it was nothing more than a deep fried veggie pakora, that was so dry that not even the avocado or sauce made much of a difference. I'm sorry, but in 2022, a good vegetarian burger should no longer be difficult to make. But maybe it was a fluke. Nice little place in downtown Windsor! Burger was amazing with a lot of options to either pick from their list of burgers or build your own - options included fried goat cheese!!! Sides were nothing special - tried the onion rings and their regular fries, both were a bit dry and weren't anything to write home about- honestly unimpressed with the sides. Burger itself was amazing! They also have loaded shakes with alcohol which were pretty good also. I enjoyed that there were 2 appropriate sized patties and that they were cooked perfectly, not dry at all. The poutine was also on point. Excellent gravy, crispy fries and the right amount of cheese. Everything travelled well all the way back to LaSalle and was still hot when I got home. I appreciated the green, recyclable packaging for the burger. The pickup process was simple. I preorder for a 7 pm pickup and they were just finishing up my order as I walked in the door. Everything was sanitized and there was only 1 person behind the counter. Really friendly staff. You can build you own burger or choose one of theirs. The burgers have two thin, flavourless meat patties on them but you can just get one if you want; therefore toppings are important. Building your own burger is fun but it's nothing compared to The Works. The fries are decent and the Caesar salad was good (the dressing is from scratch). 2 words - Big Popper. I've eaten burgers for years across North America and this place is beyond legit. From the crusted goat cheese to the roasted jalapeños to that thick cut bacon, the Big Popper is a masterpiece. I cannot go a week without thinking about it or contemplating a visit. I've tried about 2/3 of the burgers offered and haven't been disappointed yet. The Wakin Bakin deserves a mention too. It is a beautiful thing when you top that bun and the egg flows down and the bacon and the bacon jam are perfect. Turkey burgs are tasty too, moist unlike a lot of other places. Ceasar is very nice with that gd bacon again. Garlic fries are ok, I'm just not a fan of the Rosemary or w/e it is included with the garlic, I'd rather have the tater tots. My only complaint in my visits to both locations since day one is the upgraded price for the pickles. It seems wayyyyy overpriced for 1 pickle in some panko.
