I found this place on my maps while looking for a good place to grab some lunch. The inside was a friendly vibe. My waiter was amazing and had a great attitude. I noticed their special was fish and chips on Fridays, 1 piece for $14 or 2 piece for $20 Canadian dollars. So I got the 2 piece along with an order of one pound chicken wings. Everything was cooked nicely, nothing dry or over cooked. I guess for the fish I was hoping for more flavor in the batter, but I was really impressed with the size of each piece. The sauce on the side did go well with it. The fries were very good but the coleslaw was unique. I'm not a real coleslaw fan in general. After walking over the Gordie Howe Bridge, we needed a good lunch before walking back. The food was delicious and the fries were home cut and hot. This is a great little restaurant on the west side of Windsor. They have a great selection of beers and traditional bar food. The Caesars are excellent. The poutine pretty good, but not the best I've had - the gravy needs work. They have great fish chips the club sandwich was excellent. The staff were friendly and the food came out quickly. Rock Bottom Bar and Grill is one of my favorite bars in the Windsor/Detroit metro area! On top of having a ridiculous number of taps, they have an extensive menu and free peanuts that are brought out in buckets! Being your usual pub atmosphere, you're allowed to throw the peanut shells on the floor. I've had their burger and their southwest wrap before and both were excellent. Every beer I've ordered has been cold and the bar tenders super friendly. I'll be back!! read more

Slowest service ever! If your in a hurry, dont stop here. We should have left when we didnt get service within the first 15 minutes. The place was packed, which I thought was a sure sign of greatness. Sadly, we were dissapointed. We ordered 2 for 1 wings and the wings took so long to be served, that we considered canceling the order. We had honey garlic and parmesan wings. They were decent. I wouldnt rant and rave about them. Nor would I drive 20 minutes to go back to this pub. There were peanuts shells all over the floor. People seemed to like it, but I didnt. Who wants to step all over peanut shells and track them into my car and house. My son ordered a root beer float and they were out of root beer. I saw the kitchen staff go across the street to buy a few cans of root beer. My son really loved the float. It was massive and topped with aerosol whipped cream. I tried the harry porter beer. It was good. From what I read on yelp, fans raved about their beer tap selection. I wasnt impressed, because I have tried nearly everything offered. The harry porter was the only new beer to me. I was happy with it. The waitress never checked up on us to offer us a second round of drinks, so we all ended up sharing the root beer float. I would have liked a discount for poor service. We barely tipped the waitress due to her ignoring us. I usually tip quite well when I receive good service. If I could legally take money off our bill for poor service, I would have! read more

The food was hot and fresh, it came faster than we got our order in though, so the service is okay. It's very busy. We went on a Friday. The fish is excellent. The chicken fingers are real chicken, coated. The fries are absolutely perfection for fresh cuts. The Caesar salad dressing is great and light. While sitting, it is very loud; music playing, a lot of chatter and laughter. You may have to talk loud as can be to the people you're with though. read more

Rock Bottom is located just west of Windsor in Sandwich town, which is a great name for a town and should be included on some sort of top 10 list on Yelp. Doesn't it already make you hungry!? No, ok...moving on... Rock Bottom is a good sized bar that serves your typical pub fare and a decent selection of cold, alcoholic beverages. I've frequented Rock Bottom on a number of occasions and it's cleanliness and appearance is amongst some of the best I've seen at a bar. Well, that is if you ignore the discarded peanut shells that are spread all over the floor. (Is that even legal? I guess if you have a peanut allergy, stay far, far away from this place!) There are several tv's that allow for a good sightline of the big game no matter where you are seated. All in all, a good place to grab a bite and a cold pint! Disclaimer: I once played for the Rock Bottom softball team...but it did not influence this review. Allergy Alert: If you're allergic to peanuts, watch out! Rock Bottom is just as great as I remember it. I recently moved back from London, and from being away for five years, this is one of my many staples here I would come to with friends for good food and drinks. Tonight my boyfriend's brother is visiting from out of town, and they wanted to come to a place with a good beer selection and great food, so my sister, my dad and I suggested we come here. We came around 7:00pm and the place was packed, but we were just in time and only waited about 5 minutes for a seat, which we got by the door, and it was fairly cold. Our waitress was nice, but she seemed a bit rush because of how busy it was, we still got good service though. My boyfriend and his brother ordered Karma Citra IPA from Great Lakes Brewery, and I got a diet pepsi (I don't drink beer, but I wish I did). We ordered appetizers, spinach dip, and potato skins, which came out in good time. For our mains, I ordered The chicken caesar pita with a Mediterranean salad, and my boyfriend ordered the steak sandwich with a caesar salad. The spinach dip was absolutely delicious, the salad was tangy with the roasted red peppers, and the chicken caesar wrap was tasty. My boyfriend enjoyed his steak sandwich, it was cooked perfectly as he requested medium rare The atmosphere was loud, but that's to be expected with all the people that come here. I was able to hear my table almost clearly. The waitress came around from time to time and asked if we needed drinks or anything else. It was a good time, they were on top of everything. Rock Bottom is a surprisingly good place in the beautiful neighbourhood of old Sandwich. Sadly it doesn't mirror the charm of the neighbourhood and instead appears to be a fairly standard pub, right down to the peanuts all over the floor. The place is huge - there's a second floor - and so can accomodate groups, especially with a reservation. Be aware, though, that it can get loud in here, especially when a band is playing or it's Trivia night. The main draw to Rock Bottom for us was always the fact that it has the best selection of craft/interesting beer in the city of Windsor. Sure, bars like the Beer Market have a lot of beers on tap, but most of them were more-or-less the same: your standard pilsner. Rock Bottom offers not only great Ontarian craft beers like Mill Street and Amsterdam Breweries, but also more intresting imports like Belgian tripels. The food is above-average pub fare for Windsor, if not above-average generally. The wings and nachos are both very good. This place was worth making the 20 minute walk (past several other bars) from our home near the University when we lived in Windsor, and assuming nothing's changed we'd still be happy to visit when we're home. read more

The only reason I'm not giving them five stars is because the service can occasionally be lacking, but is usually above average. Their chicken wings are the best in the city. Try the Caribbean jerk flavour. It goes great with a pint of Dead Elephant I.P.A. from St. Thomas, On. That's another thing that must be mentioned, they have over thirty beers on tap! Most are either Ontario craft brews or European imports which are difficult to find this side of the pond, such as Delirium Tremens from Belgium or Stiegl from Austria. Me and the wife went on a late Saturday morning for their all day breakfast a few weeks back. First time there and we were pretty happy with the food and atmosphere. Their breakfast isn't anything super fancy, but it matches the charm and style of the place. Next time I think we'll go in for the '2 for 1 wings' and see how those are - heard they're one of the best wings place in Windsor with sauce specials every week. I got some french toast with eggs on the side and an Irish coffee. Wife had the usual eggs/bacon/sausage/home fries/toast combo along with a Mamosa. The bill was around $30. The home fries weren't very fresh, but other than that it was good grub. Employee's seem happy to work there, genuinely friendly and caring. I heard good things about the place from friends but always thought it was mainly a bar. It is that, but it's really more of a restaurant with a large selection of craft beers. When we were there, there were families with toddlers up to a group of Gramps enjoying a mid day brew. It was actually quite a relaxing place - especially with the garage doors open letting in fresh cool air. If you are looking for a laid back place to get a bite to eat for cheap, I really recommend to at least try this place. Grab a beer, eat some free peanuts, throw your shells on the ground and watch the birds come to your feet for crumbs. read more

I have been going here for years with the family. They always have great wings! the staff always seems to be very friendly and helpful. The food usually come quickly. It seems like everything I have tried on the menu I have liked. I have never had an bad experience here and would recommend the place to anyone. It does seem like they have changed the recipe of their "stupid sauce". I still get it but it's not as great as what it used to taste like. Just my opinion though. You know something in Windsor is more popular when there are more that 5 reviews for it on Yelp! But OMG, this location was one of my favorites! With some of the best breakfasts and wings, this location is a definite must-try! First thing you realize when you walk in is the nice lighting from the garage door/patio and the shells on the floor. One of the unique things about this place is that they give you complimentary peanuts, and you can just throw the shells on the ground after you open them. There is something just so satisfying about doing that, and the funny crunch when you walk all over them! I have to admit that I mostly frequented this place after a night of drinking. It was my go-to for some hangover food, which made the breakfasts that much better. Along with their wings, they had some of the best in the area for wings that paired well with a nice cold beer. Definitely worth checking out as this was absolutely one of my favorites when I was a student. Be it wings or breakfast, you will have a great time here! read more

I went here for lunch as part of a group. The wait staff was attentive and did a great job with our table of fifteen. My friends enjoyed the chicken fingers (though my daughter did not). I would not, however, recommend the whole grain pancakes, as they were dense and didn't have a good flavor. Also, several people ordered beer, and they seem to have a great selection. One couple ordered a flight, and the serving size for each beer was much larger than anywhere else I've been when my husband has ordered a flight. Rockbottom is a great place in the middle of Sandwich on the west side of Windsor. Its got that wonderful brick / pub / peanuts on the floor feel to it, wooden floors give it a good sound when you smoosh those peanut shells on your way to the bathroom after a round of beers ;) Typically I've been here for the Wednesday 2 for 1 wings, and I'm torn what is better, this place or Hurricanes (just across the street). However, for the sake of argument, who cares!? Both have good wing selection IMHO. This place is great for groups if you can squeeze them in, as it gets busy most Wednesdays. We've had people here from our Ultimate Frisbee league (Windsor Ultimate Frisbee - windsorultimate.com), and everyone has enjoyed the food. Close proximity to the University makes this a great place for students too, as the beer is relatively inexpensive and the food is favorable, filling and not too bad on the wallet. A pub that boasts a wonderful menu! Great venue, the upstairs is great for parties - downstairs is usually tables of larger groups / sports teams enjoying some wings and beer. If you wish to venture away from the chicken wings... the rest of the menu is also priced well and hearty. *Caution to those with peanut allergies... throwing peanuts on the floor is an acceptable practice in this venue. No patio, but the front windows are garage doors that open up allowing the summer air in and good live music out on the street. Staying in town on business and found this place on my "Untapped" app. Bartender was great, their selection was phenomenal. The big surprise was how great the food was.
