2 words - Big Popper. I've eaten burgers for years across North America and this place is beyond legit. From the crusted goat cheese to the roasted jalapeños to that thick cut bacon, the Big Popper is a masterpiece. I cannot go a week without thinking about it or contemplating a visit. I've tried about 2/3 of the burgers offered and haven't been disappointed yet. The Wakin Bakin deserves a mention too. It is a beautiful thing when you top that bun and the egg flows down and the bacon and the bacon jam are perfect. Turkey burgs are tasty too, moist unlike a lot of other places. You can enjoy a pint of Mill Street Organic brew Staff is nice, jovial - place is clean The milkshakes are excellent, get the adult version We usually go after the dinner rush and never wait too long for our entree The buns are the exact bun the burger deserves, excellent burger buns Sides are always solid. Ceasar is very nice with that gd bacon again. Garlic fries are ok, I'm just not a fan of the Rosemary or w/e it is included with the garlic, I'd rather have the tater tots. My only complaint in my visits to both locations since day one is the upgraded price for the pickles. It seems wayyyyy overpriced for 1 pickle in some panko. Straight up the best and most consistent burger I've had in all of Ontario. My order never changes really, it's always an Old School (their play on a big mac) combo with the garlic fries. I always have it with a delicious local Walkerville beer on draught, but I can definitely say after trying a few sips that they make some damn good milkshakes as well I'd love to take a star away for their negative points, which is indifferent service, incredibly slow wait times, and annoying rules about take out and reservations.. but I just like the burger too much. 5 stars for the food. Great burgers. I had the NOTORIOUS P.I.G. it was $14 bucks and it was worth every penny! Smoked Pulled Pork, House Bacon, Ham, Dill Pickles, Cheddar & Chipotle Mayo. It comes with a side and I picked tater tots. It was a wise choice. So good. My husband went with the WAKIN' & BACON. Cheddar, House Bacon, Fried Egg & Bacon Jam. He had garlic fries as the side. He loved the burger but said the fries were just o.k., he's going for the tater tots next time. We will go back for sure. read more

I had the Italian job and a milkshake. Great burger. I went to sleep thinking of it. I woke up thinking about it. It is a double patty, so you get a fair amount of burger for your cash. However, i wish they would let adults order off the kids menus if you are in the mood for less food, or at least have a smaller burger option for less money if you just want more of a meat snack. Sliders perhaps? Oh, and there is an area to park your stroller if you need to. read more

Burgers are great - hubby had shroomage burger: portobello with caramelized onions & garlic aioli and happy. Side Caesar was good with real bacon. I had Greek - lamb patties with arugula, feta & tzatziki - excellent. Boy had kids burger meal - patty thin so over cooked & kinda burnt on edges. Buns are great, burger sizes great but boy & I not happy with garlic fries - warmish, limp & garlicky but something missing. All I have to say about Mamo Burger Bar is "Wow!" I ate lunch at the restaurant with my wife and my father-in-law recently and was blown away. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was welcoming and the food was beyond delicious. I ordered the Big Popper burger with a side of onion rings and was very satisfied with my choice. It might have been the best burger I've ever had. The onion rings were great as well. I will most definitely be returning the next time I'm in town! read more

Excellent service, I went there with my son (he's in a wheelchair) it would have been nice if the door opened with electric door opener (accessibility is difficult in older parts of town I get it) The menu is clean and sized perfectly, the options are delicious. I have to say the burger was so fresh and the beef tasted like beef should! fresh and juicy with a great bun and if you are craving a burger this is the place to go!. The portions are big, just enough if you are hungry. I would suggest Mamo to anyone! I'm going for the peanut butter bacon one tonight! read more

The burgers were exceptional as advertised. The sides. ...hmmm. when I order a poutine at an upgraded cost, I would have expected the gravy to be hot and the cheese partly melted. I am guessing that the fries were just put on the dish and our somewhat friendly waitress had to just pour gravy then cheese. Went there last week with my boyfriend. VERY impressed with the service. Didn't have to wait. 15 minutes for someone to take my drink order, unlike another burger joint in town. Food was great. I have been a big fan of Mamo Burger bar for years for both the Manning Road and Ottawa Street locations. Great food and until today great friendly service. Today went into Ottawa Street, only 3 tables being served and not a single employee in sight waited nearly 5 minutes and hear voices from the kitchen. Asked if someone could help me out please. Guess that was the wrong question. Gentleman said he was busy and a minute late he came out commenting that i needed to have some patience. Really, that's just plain rude. I am his customer. Perhaps Ottawa Street management might want to review how their staff handles customers. I sure will not be back to this location. Changed my order to take out and got out of there... two guesses as to whether or not I left a tip. read more

Seriously good burgers. They offer combinations of flavours that so perfectly compliment each other that you could just die. Anyplace else and I would want to build my own, after all I know what I like .... but don't do that here. Take a flavour adventure and you won't be disappointed. I had the Shroomage burger and a few days later I can still remember the flavour. And to top it all off, the staff are fantastic!!! Mamo is a wonderful place to go as a group. The burger choices are so unique and very tasty. Even if you're not feeling anything on the menu they let you customize your own burger with some of the best toppings that you don't always find everywhere. They have a decent amount of side choices, my personal favourite is the fried pickles. Time after time the service is always great and they never turn down a group. $70 for four burgers and terrible customer service...never again. After waiting 15 minutes for a table, not being able to transfer the bar tab to our table, being told by the snippy waitress that we couldn't move to a booth when one became available, and waiting another 45 minutes for food in an uncomfortably packed dining room, I was very hopeful that the food would redeem the experience. Unfortunately my burger was overdone, and the owner was unconcerned when I told her the food was only 'alright'. One of the best burgers we've had! This place was constantly recommended by locals, and they were right! Out server was very engaging and made the experience more enjoyable. We all had the classic burger, and I added bacon. We also only had the single patty as all come with two. The burgers were fresh, cooked perfectly, and the Mamo sauce was tasty. Try the onions rings and the jalapeño slaw! Now for the drinks, we enjoyed traditional Tom Collins in non-traditional mason jars, as well as a Long Island iced tea. The drinks were spectacular! Interesting selection of burgers with a variety of sides. Juicy patties, and crispy exterior and soft interior fries. The veggie burger option was also juicy and flavorful. So parmesan pesto fries were a hit with young and old (love that it's an option for the kids side). Another diner at our table got the tater tots topped with chili, salsa and jalapenos - delicious. All items good eats. One diner wanted Caesar salad, but with the Romaine lettuce recall, our server was helpful and advised that it wasn't as good with a subbed lettuce type. Oh my goodness... life is good when you get to go to Mamo Burger for dinner. A friend that invites you to Mamo burger... is a good friend indeed, they are showing how much they care by inviting you to share in one of the best burgers in the city. Mamo burger has been open a few years now, everytime we go the place is packed- the waits are well managed and you will get a table in no time. No time to wait? Take out can be ordered rather quickly. Once you are seated - the servers are quick to greet you, explain the menu / answer questions grab your drinks and get your order in. Build your own burger, modify an existing one or just order it they way the Mamo intended for you to eat it... you'll LOVE your meal. They do not have gluten free buns here, BUT they do serve the burger on lettuce - so that works (maybe now you'll have room for an awesome milkshake?). I've only had room for dessert ONCE - and that was if the party of three I was with could share it... the pastry chef even came out to say hello. That's right, they stuff you full of burger AND have a pastry chef on staff (who has room for dessert???). So.... pop in here, share a burger, drink a milkshake and then indulge in dessert (it's the only way I can imagine getting all the goodness in!) OR... get the whole shebang... and have some awesome leftovers for a few days later when you actually are hungry again. The burgers are great, the sides may look like a smaller portion... BUT, they are next to a MONSTER of a burger and really.... you won't leave hungry. Grab some face wipes and dive into that burger. Whether it has an avocado, bacon or an egg on it... piled with fried onions, jalepeno's, an assortment of cheeses... there is something on their menu that will have your mouth watering and coming back for more. Had the Wakin' Bacon'. Burger was pretty good , but I wasn't impressed. Ive had WAY better meals. The beef was overcooked, the egg was overcooked, the bacon jam was nasty tasting. You know when you go to a really good place a hundred times and then that one time you get a crappy meal? Yeah, burgers great fries great everything really good except this time I had a salad. Goat cheese and beet. Really disappointed my salad was full of rotting greens. I brought it to the attention of our server, who then presented us with the cheque, full price. She later talked to her manager who told her to take 15% off, big whoop $1.92. We still will probably go back but will stay away from the salads. read more

I'm not sure what happened with this place. It was once my favourite place to go for a Cobb salad. I went today, very disappointed. The price remains the same, however, they have reduced from two patties to one (which almost looked like a crepe with how thin it was) and no avocado! What is is a Cobb salad without avocado?!
