We had our granite installed today and we couldn't be more pleased. The process was surprisingly easy (minus on my husband and I deciding on which one). We spoke to Moe about which counter style to go with then tagged our granite from a massive warehouse. They came out to measure, sent us estimates then installed within weeks. My kitchen was cleaner after they installed the granite then before they came. The installation was fast and they guys who did it were super nice. I highly recommend South Shore Granite. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!! I had a countertop installed in my in-law suite. I went to their yard of stones and there were several stones to choose from. I noticed writing on slab side and was told those stones slabs were already sold and unavailable. So when it came down to it I may have had 4 to choose from. Then when I made a choice they did a bait and switch on me. From start to finish this purchase was a disaster. If I hadn't given a deposit I would have ran. Ive had three different projects involving bathrooms and kitchens. I had previously dealt with Phil (they were Northeast Marble at the time). These prior projects were good experiences. But without being aware I was now dealing with a different business. Although nothing was ever stated until I went back to their location some days later. Now a temporary banner hung on the building and Clay said there was a change in management. Yet multiple issues starting immediately. First with the computer not working, (for a copy of agreement), the truck (broke down on way for installation), incorrect measurement of countertop (I don't believe clay could read a tape measure) and excuse after excuse. When I called and texted I spoke to clay on numerous occasions. He verbally threatened me and then insulted me as if I was taking advantage of him. After much communication they gave me a $150 concession for all the issues up to that point of installation. A month after installation I now have a stress crack that can't be repaired and I need to get a new countertop. Don't walk.... RUN from this business! Most of their reviews are from years ago. But several have had similar situation as I have had. BUYER BEWARE!!! read more

THIS EMPLOYEE DRIVER REFLECTS POORLY AGAINST THIS BUSINESS. read more

South Shore Granite - DRIVER RECKLESS DRIVING OUT OF WALMART PARKING LOT NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT! Did not Stop. . - Countertop Installation Near Me - Braintree, Massachusetts

If I could give less I would. Do not use this compan They had to recut the corners after installation because one was rounded and one was a 45 degree angle The installers were not trained. They hid(by glueing) 3 big chips in my countertop. There was caulk all over the place.. One of the back splashes was so badly chipped and glues it had to be replaced. They had to also fill a hole in the stone that had mysteriously popped up after I inspected the stone before being cut. The whole process was a very expensive ($5000) nightmare. read more

This business is unprofessional. They gave me an estimate on a granite tabletop and then failed to honor it. They do not answer their business phone nor do they return emails. I made repeated attempts to call and email and no call was ever returned and no reply by email either. Very shady business. read more

Do not use this company! Not only did they cut my granite to the wrong size. But they left the wrong pieces at the location. They're way too large for anyone to move on their own. And they refuse to come back out and replace them for another two weeks. I've reached out to them numerous times and cannot get a manager or anyone above the receptionist to give me a call back. read more

What an absolutely horrible experience. From start to finish, working with Bruna and South Shore Granite was terrible. Once the template was done, we kept receiving calls about where our seams would be located, and each time they called to confirm, it was different! We had to repeatedly tell them what we agreed to when the template was made. The install was horrible. The crew cut into my walls to make the quartz counter tops that we paid good money for fit. On top of that, they cut into my window trim and drywall because, and I quote, "if we take it back to cut it in the shop, it will cost our boss money. We're saving money this way." Even after they cut the walls, which they didn't ask my permission to do because I obviously would have said no, it was all crooked! Even the island, which should have been an easy drop and glue, was two inches off. My long run of counter top was bowed. My house was filthy, with dust all over my kitchen and driveways. I spent two days cleaning after they left. When I called the shop, Bruna was extremely rude and short with me, saying that it is normal to cut to make adjustments to make the counter tops fit, which is incorrect. The templates are made for the sole purpose of fitting the counter tops into the existing conditions. It is the reason they make you wait until all your cabinets are installed before the come out and measure. Getting someone to be accountable for fixing things was difficult. We had to have the foreman come twice before they would agree to do anything, and even then they refused to lay out how they were going to fix things or how they were going to compensate us for the extra work our contractor would have to do to fix the walls and trim they cut. Nothing. They did eventually straighten the slabs out, and the foreman said the job was terribly done and the templates were done incorrectly. It is very disappointing, because even now, our carerra marmi quartz counter tops aren't perfect. The seams were done sloppily and are obvious even though they're brand new. I asked multiple times how South Shore Granite was going to compensate me for cutting into my walls and also damaging my cabinets, which are dinged up and scratched in multiple places, and they refused to do so. I even tried to stop the payment but they charged my card so fast and because they claimed to have completed the job, my dispute with the credit card fell through. I would have paid more to go elsewhere to avoid these problems and bad quality product and experience. I should have listened to the reviews below me, because this seems to be a trend of bad customer service and poor quality of product. read more

I should have wrote this review sooner to advise potential buyers, but finally got a chance to get to it. They were very nice in the beginning, responsive and quick. And priced well. When the guys came, our old countertop was still intact, obviously. I was under the assumption that was all part of the service we paid for, to remove and replace. But, that was not included and an extra fee. They should have disclosed that. After installation, we noticed the edges on our countertops were different - how can that be? Why would we request or want 2 different edges? After numerous emails, pictures sent and conversations, they still did not fix the issue to what we wanted because what we wanted would require them to replace the whole slab of quartz - which they did not want to do. The kicker was, when I was speaking to a gentleman, explaining to him what happened and what we wanted, one of the ladies grabbed the phone and yelled..."WHAT DO YOU WANT US TO DO?? WE F*CKED UP!! I was kinda in shock that she would say that. Exactly, sooo fix it! To that end, our countertop remains different on both ends. I suggest trying to go elsewhere for your countertop needs who is more respectful to their customers. read more

Our Granite is beautiful but there have been several problems. The install team refused to drill holes needed to install my cooktop hood (the wall behind my cooktop is a slab of granite), so my contractor drilled it, no problem. The install team scratched the crap out of my wood floors, so much so that I had to have them repaired (sanded and varnished). The granite under my windows was measured and cut wrong twice- the third time they go it right. The seam under my cooktop didn't line up so they cut a divet in the granite to make the seam line up. I didn't call to complain until I discovered two huge counter length scratches on the countertop when they slid the slab behind my cooktop across the countertop- they came out to polish out the scratch, but it's so deep, I'm stuck with visible scratches. I called again to ask about the etch marks that are all over (especially around the sink) from any liquid that hits the counter (water drops, ring marks from cups and glasses, spills), and asked if the countertops were not property polished because of the dozens of marks (etching) that cannot be polished out by hand. The countertops were sealed with a premium sealant, but it didn't help, every drop of liquid leaves a mark. I called, emailed, and messaged on FaceBook and So. Shore Granite asked for pictures. I send 9 photos, followed up a half dozen times, and no response. If you choose South Shore Granite or North Shore Granite (same company) good luck because you're going to need it! read more

Amateurs but at least they took $1,000 off. First red flag was measuring by hand. Then on installation they realized they cut the sink hole incorrectly. There were several more attempts, delays and rescheduling. The finished product has an off-center sink, inconsistent overhangs, off-color stains, sloppy seams and is not sealed properly. They offered to remove and refund 100% but it would have put us over a month behind schedule. Chances are we will replace these at some point. read more

This is NOT the place to get your countertops for your precious home that you work so hard for !!!!!!! Bruna is RUDE and will cut corners (LITERALLY!), fill in holes and damage with EPOXY. So if you don't mind getting epoxy countertops when your paying for granite, taking time off from work for a template that her workers DO NOT FOLLOW. Then when it comes time for installation: the installers damage your walls and cabinets, want to cut into your walls to "make the counter fit" (because they did not follow the template!), and then try to say it is your fault, (yes really!), leave gaps, leave their mess in your driveway....etc. THEN you request a manager to come out and see the AWFUL job and damage. AND BRUNA SENDS A FRIEND INSTEAD! He admitted it was a BAD job and left without resolving anything. We told Bruna to come take out the granite and fix the damage and have our deposit check when they arrive. NOPE she sent the men and BLAMED them for not taking the check with them. The men said IT WASN'T there! So she hung up on me when I said she couldn't remove the granite from my home until I had the check in hand. OH AND DON'T TELL OFFICE THAT YOU WILL PAY THE BALANCE BY CHECK BECAUSE THEY WILL JUST CHARGE YOUR CREDIT CARD ANYWAYS! THEN THEY LIE TO YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY WHEN YOU DISPUTE THE CHARGE BECAUSE YOU RETURNED THE GRANITE AND THEY PICKED IT UP!!!! BRUNA LIED TO THE CREDIT CARD COMPANY AND THEN WOULD NOT GIVE US OUR COMPLETE INVOICE FROM DEPOSIT TO RETURN! Like I said if you don't mind a ridiculous experience with a circus company then go ahead but I WOULD run the other way if I were you!! read more

My experience with this business was a complete nightmare. Here's why: We are first time home buyers renovating our very first kitchen. We did some research on where to buy marble which led us to Boston Granite Exchange. We had a great experience there and they provided plenty of options in multiple price ranges for us to choose from. Once we picked out our slab we called a few locations to help us fabricate. This is how we ended up at South Shore Granite (SSG)... We needed to push back/reschedule multiple appointments with them, ahead of time, due to other moving parts such as plumbing, electrical, and construction hold ups/push backs. I fully understand how frustrating this could be for the business owner of SSG, however, when these calls were made the woman I spoke with was polite and said "it's ok, this happens all the time". After all, aren't you in the business to work with your customers? You had already cashed my $1,000 deposit. If some of you are not familiar with counter install, it takes some time for someone to come out and template then fabricate and actually install. Once the man came out to template, after cancelling once very last minute (I missed work), I received a call from SSG later that day to discuss the amount due and and install date. To much of my surprise, the cost was +$500 MORE than what I was expecting. Turns out SSG did not base the price off of the template measurements taken that very same morning, but off of our previous rough kitchen plans... proceed with caution. I refused to sign the pricing contract with SSG because of this. The morning came for the counter install, they arrived on-time as scheduled. They were not prepared to make cuts into the marble to accommodate our cook-top, which was very strange because this was not only discussed multiple times over the phone but was also displayed on the kitchen blue prints which they had in their possession months prior. Once the cuts were made, the counter was placed and the men left. I went into my kitchen to inspect the work completed. There were 3 unnatural missing chunks of marble that were positioned up against the wall. These chunks are the size of a thumb. There were multiple, what looked like, electric grinder or sander marks that ran across the top of the stone. SSG also used a caulking to try to conceal the damage, which was done very poorly! Also, they state in their contract that, "The Company does not caulk or silicone"... I can assure you - THEY DO, and they use alot of it. Later that morning, I received an email saying that SSG has been paid in full, they charged our credit card. Once I caught my breath and gathered my thoughts, I called SSG 10+ times over the course of a few hours. No answer. I left one message which was returned over an hour later. I expressed my frustration to the woman who answered the phone and she was absolutely no help at all. There was no one of authority to speak to on that Friday. After hanging up with her I wrote a very informative, factual, and frustrated email inclusive of images from all of the damage. I wanted a refund. This is where the story gets good... The owner, who happens to have the same first name as the receptionist which caused some confusion, emailed me back. Not only with complete disregard and zero responsibility as a business owner, BRUNA PORTELA, attempted to scold me like a child via email. I took matters into my own hands and wanted a face-to-face. I drove to her shop, which is a poorly maintained, hole in the wall, where the receptionist sits in a corner (do NOT let the quality of their website fool you). Once I got into the shop, I greeted the receptionist and asked for the other Bruna. She wasn't there, so I had her call her. The second I introduced myself to the owner over the phone, I could tell in her tone of voice that she was extremely agitated. The only sentence I managed to get out was, "have you seen the images that I sent over this morning of the damage?", this is when Bruna Portela began screaming at the top of her lungs preventing me from speaking. I don't believe English is her first language so it was difficult to make out what this screaming, and I mean screaming, business owner was saying. I repeatedly looked at the receptionist and whispered "what did she say?". After about 30 seconds of my failed efforts to try to get her to stop, she yelled, "GET THE F**K OUT OF MY SHOP". I hung up and left her "shop". I have since taken other steps in order to satisfy what was not promised to us. In an effort to publicly showcase extremely irresponsible business owners like Bruna Portela, I STRONGLY encourage all homeowners/contractors who are considering contracting work from South Shore Granite to run, not walk, far far away. read more
