This was my second time ever coming here. The Philly's here are authentic and delicious. They are made fresh upon ordering. My family and I ordered the loaded tater tots, the cubby, and a regular Philly. Everyone happily chomped on their sandwiches and no one complained. Unfortunately for me I was given the wrong sandwich. Fortunately for these guys, it was awesome. I like my Phillys traditional and for whatever reason I was given a hoagie with lettuce, mayo and tomato. More often than not when things like this happen, the mistake reflects the quality of food being served but not today. I still prefer my cheesesteaks without all of the beautiful ingredients that make a sandwich "Californian" but I cannot complain as to the quality because this hoagie was DELICIOUS. This is my first go with South Philly and the mistake could have been for any reason and I generally give benefit to doubt. Repeat offenders are suspect and deserve more scrutiny however. Waiting forty minutes for our Phillies, brought out fries and onion rings and the onions were drenched in grease, like they threw them in from the fryer without letting the oil drain out. I went to South Philly today and it was my second visit. The first was just after they opened and I was disappointed with the entire visit. The owners seemed very nervous and they had a lot to learn about the business. Everything seemed confusing and they really struggled to make it work. Today's visit went a lot better and I can see that they have worked at the processes and the food was O.K. I have had much better philly's but I've had worse. The fries were the best tasting part of the meal but I didn't go for the fries. They have a daily special that goes for around $9 and it covers your sandwich, fries and drinks. I'm hoping they get this figured out and can make it work. Brighton can be hard on non Mexican restaurants and The Pavilion shopping area is struggling but some stability in the businesses would go a long way. I will be back because I want it to work and hope to add a star the next time I visit. read more

Although it looks big and great, the flavor is very bland. 2: The staff works extremely SLOW and often makes mistakes on orders. The first time we ordered the order arrived WITHOUT the onions (on a cheese steak???) and they forgot to bring the fries. ZERO start!! None. This place is so bad at customer service it's unreal. I was on the phone for 27 mins just trying to place 2 kids meal and a adult Philly. 27 mins and they couldn't put an order in. The first kid asked my order then in the middle of my order starts talking to someone else and asks me to repeat everything I just said. Then as I'm repeating my order again, he's telling me he doesn't know they had a kids meals. So I asked if there was someone else who could take my order, so he put me on with a woman who says she doesn't know how to work the system yet and I repeated my order three time for her. So a total of 5 times they asked me to do that. Finally we get past that and she asks for my phone number I'm which I have to repeat twice. Now I'm getting beyond irritated at 20 mins into this order and she asked me to give her my card number, so I did and SHOCKER, I had to repeat my card number 4 times with her even repeating it back to me out loud. All of this while the manage is on the other line not giving two shits that she left two VERY untrained employees to run an establishment and they can't even take an order in less then 30 mins! It is not that hard to take, place and remember an order of three meals. How embarrassing as a manager and owner that you think this is okay. read more
