I needed some car keys made and out of four places this was the ONLY place that could make them properly. Not even the car dealership could handle it -- they sent me here! They did a great, quick job. I'll definitely be coming back. John read more

After an amazing recommendation to visit south penn lock and safe from an auto parts shop I arrived with my broken key still in the ignition of my boyfriends car. I had broken the key off the key fob and I was in a panic!! The lock smiths there were amazing and removed the key from the ignition and Andrew was able to help me make a new key as well as a brand new fob that locks the car without a key. This was a perfect surprise for my boyfriend who's locking system hasn't worked in over a year. I want to say THANK YOU so much to Andrew as well as the entire team for helping me today! Their prices were extremely reasonable, the service was fast, and the team was amazing! I have never been so relieved; thank you again! read more

I couldn't get my Honda key fob back together after replacing the battery so I came to South Penn. The gentleman there fixed it for me free of charge. Very nice man. Thanks again . read more

They are very slow. Expect to spend some time there. But they are very solid! Expensive but keys work

I called to set an appointment to service our property- I took the soonest availability based on their schedule. No one showed for the appointment and when I called to see where they were they said no one was coming - the manager Andrew was so rude he acted like it was my fault they missed the appointment. read more

I couldn't have been happier with the service I received. I went in with a simple request to have my 3 locks re-keyed so I only had to use 1 key for all of the locks. Did it while I waited and charged me a reasonable price for the work. I returned an hour later cause I had some how managed to jumble the pieces in my 1930s Mortise lock for my front door. Google it, it's your worst nightmare come true. I don't even know how long it took for my knight in shining armor to fix it. But bless his heart he did and I was able to reinstall it once I got back home. The cherry on my sundae was him telling me no charge, he enjoyed the challenge of figuring it out. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU read more

I thought I needed a spare Honda remote. Their quoted price was considerably less than the one from the Honda dealership. Once there, they repaired it instead of replacing it and saved me a considerable amount of money. Call me a customer for life! read more

Fantastic service! Changed our locks on-the-spot. Woody is great and the guys are so helpful here. Will definitely call if we need them in the future. read more

They couldn't bother to tell me that they would be late for my appointment. I wasted half of my day waiting for them. No thank you! I don't reward bad customer service. Next! read more

I had a door handle issue for which I contacted South Penn Lock. I always go to them with any such issues and have always been pleased with the outcome. Today, their technician Bobby came to my home for my problem and he couldn't have been more efficient or knowledgeable. The work was completed to my satisfaction and he was very pleasant. Thanks guys, you really helped my mom out when needed, and the price was great. Mom kept your number just in case.

I called this company South Penn Lock and Safe to replace and key the 5 exterior doors to our home. We were updating and changing to black and silver hardware. I had ordered all but one doorknob and lock In advance elsewhere. The owner Dana Barnum insisted I come to his shop to select the hardware. He had no black hardware but said he would obtain it before the work was started. This company was asked to bring a single black replacement and they installed a bronze one. Was he too incompetent to distinguish black from brown or maybe he just didn't care? Additionally the technician was 77 years old and repeatedly removed his mask while working inside our home. Though they estimated $300 the actual bill was more than $500. The technician did manage to don the mask when presenting the bill. When we called Dana about the brown doorknob he said "it's the best I can do". We are hiring another locksmith to return and replace the brown set with a black one. read more

Great job on rekey of 14 locks! I totally trust these guys. A quality locksmith is harder to find than you might think. They are somewhat of a dying breed. read more

This was my first experience with South Penn Lock. My job was in Wayne PA. Project was to re-key 3 locks and install hasps and padlocks on 3 other doors. Kevin, Locksmith, showed up on time. Completed all of the work in a professional manner. Charges were reasonable for the work. And all done in short order. Good work! For my next lock project, I would use these folks without hesitation. read more

Used these guys a couple times. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The owner on the other hand is extremely unfriendly and treats customers poorly. His prices are not just a little, but extremely over-priced. Do yourself a favor, shop around for whatever product you are looking for, and I'll bet you find it cheaper. read more

I contacted your company through your web site because I wanted to have deadbolt locks installed. The man who answered the phone was very courteous and helpful. He explained everything to me, including prices. In a few days Mark and Nick came to my home (exactly on time) and did a fantastic job. They were very knowledgable and helpful. I would highly recommend your company to all of my friends! Margaret C. read more

I needed to make a duplicate of my ignition key after losing my whole set of keys. Knowing that the dealer would charge a premium and needed a scheduled appointment for service, I used Yelp to locate a locksmith. South Penn was convenient to my house. A phone call acknowledged they could replace my key. 30 minutes later I was driving away with a new, replaced and computer programmed key for half the dealer's quoted price. The staff is super friendly, professional and best of all, competent and reasonable. Will never again go to a big box store for my keys. , read more

Best place to go for locks, keys, knobs etc. Did not try to oversell, helped me to work through what I could do on my own. Woody was great! Also, save yourself the aggravation and just get your keys made here. No more return trips to Home Depot to get them re-cut when they do it wrong the first time. South Penn always gets it right. Great local business to support! read more

Locked my keys in my garage on a weekend and called around to a few places. No one was answering or returning calls. Found South Penn on the Better Business Bureau website and gave them a call. Someone was at my house in less then a half hour and opened the garage in minutes. Courteous, fast and professional...thank you! read more

I have a set of French doors and the outside handle was falling off. The spindle inside looked in pretty bad shape. I called South Penn and they gave me a quote to come out but suggested, if I was able, to bring in the piece for them to look at along with pictures of the door. Woody and John were extremely helpful. They looked at the photos and each piece for the door, found a new spindle, trimmed it down. In five minutes, I was on my way and confident I would be able to fix my doors. Everything worked great. I called back to let them know it all worked and settle up for the new spindle. Woody was happy to hear that it all worked well and said spindle was on the house. Thanks guys! I will certainly be back if I encounter any door/lock/key issue!! read more

They have great ratings, but in my case, didn't live up to them. I was quoted $150 to re-key three locks over the phone. Two technicians came to do the work. They suggested installing new lock on mailbox, which I agreed to. $15 was quoted for the mailbox lock. The third lock was for a security door, either front or back. The back only required one lock to be re-keyed. He said he couldn't do it. The front security door required two re-keying, one inside and one outside, so the technician said. Changes in pricing were not quoted, so I expected $!50 + $15 for mail box lock. Lo and behold, a $100 fee for coming to house, labor for installing mailbox key and additional re-keying charge for both inside and outside security door. $150 escalated to $263, minus the $100 fee I disputed with dispatcher. I emailed owner about discrepancies in price, but never received a reply. The security door lock change was requested simply for simplicity of using one key. I would never have had requested it for $30. It was exorbitant, and totally unwarranted. I believe the the back door lock could have been re-keyed, but front was chosen to pad the bill. A labor charge for mail box installation was never quoted upfront either. It probably took about three to five minutes to do, and didn't warrant a labor charge. I felt the bill was padded unnecessarily, and that prices changed somewhat arbitrarily. Work was acceptable, but if honesty in pricing is questionable, then the security of re-keying also becomes questionable. I chose them because of their ratings and thus, more honest, but not so. read more

When I had trouble getting into our house, South Penn sent Bobby out to fix the problem. He was very efficient and knowledgeable. I was in South Penn Lock & Safe today about a problem with my remove. Andrew took the remote apart and found that there was a piece of tape on the new battery preventing it from working. My Husband hired these guys and they are wonderful, the best of the best!! They were fast and friendly and very polite. I have been to the store too and Woody is so friendly and amazingly smart. I normally don't post reviews but after reading the Steve T. review I asked a few of the guys at the shop what happened. Supposedly Steve ordered so custom parts and then backed out of the deal leaving south Penn Lock to cover the bill. The owner, Dana is friendly unless you piss him off which it sounds like Steve did, then Dana can be extremely unfriendly. The Prices are fair, not great but when you hire these guys you know your get it done right the first time and that in the long run will save you some cash. For example house keys are $3.00 which is a bit high but I have never had a key from there not work. That's not the case with Home Depot and Walmart, every time I try to save a few cents by going to a big box store the keys never work. South Penn is also not hurting for business, I have herd South Penn Lock and Safe does all the lock work for WaWa, Acme Markets, Walmart, Game Stop, Star Bucks, Victory Secret, and many more. All these companies trust their lock work to South Penn Lock and Safe Company, and so should you. Don't waste your time or money going to the other guys in the area!! read more
