I contacted Detective-one to find an address for my son, he hasn't spoken to me since 2017. I…read morewanted to write him a letter to see if we could make amends. My husband is handicapped and I'm his 24/7 caregiver. I'm semi disabled so neither one of us can travel. My son lives in PA and I'm in CA. I'm 79 years old and my husband is 82. They got me the address but I was late paying him because my checking account was compromised. The bank closed the account and opened a new one. I explained this to Detect-one and told them I would send a money order, which I did. I got a email from them telling me if I didn't pay, they were going to tell my son I was trying to find him. I wrote back and told them they didn't need to threaten me, that the money order was in the mail. A few days later they contacted me to say they got the money order and thanked me. Well today I got a scathing email from my son telling me that Detector-one contacted him and if I continue trying to reach him, he's going to call the police and have me charged. This is the first time since 2017 that I've tried to reach him. I'm not harassing him in any way, what's he going to charge me with? Anyway, don't do business with these people, they are unethical. My privacy was violated.
