DO NOT GO HERE! it is a waste of time I took this drivers ed class 5 years ago with Lourdes. This lady had me picking up other students. Made me make a stop to buy a gift, and was always on the phone making phone calls and is pretty impatient, she makes you run her errands. At the end I asked her when should I make my appointment for my driving test and she tells me "oh you're not ready" I would of been ready if I would of gone somewhere else. I recommend Pacific Driving School in BELL GARDENS with Alex Garcia very nice and patient guy made me feel comfortable and I passed my driving test on the first try. read more

No one in their right mind and own will should come here. Jimmy, the driving instructor is completely rude, talks about his anger issues, borderline threatens the students. Miguel the owner of the business is afraid to confront his employee and does nothing to help. Luckily, there's a way to get your money back. The instructor is a jerk ! He gets irritated with having to teach you how to drive how does that make sense ? I asked him a simple question or made a mistake during the lesson and he starts scolding me saying if I have adhd or something cause I can't follow simple directions mind you I was 17 taking driving lessons with a stranger and I paid around $200-300 for these lessons . His name was Jimmy and then the car they teach you in is not a car people drive on the day to day basis it's a old small tiny car with weird speedometer and mirrors idk just a horrible experience over all read more

From a real stand point, I had Lourdes teaching me and honestly I felt uncomfortable with the whole situation. I'm confused why she isn't fired. I'm going to write a list of things that were not right, but before I do just know you shouldn't even consider going here. Literally go anywhere else because there's so much unprofessionalism. Here's the things that instructor did: - instructor making a bunch of phone calls - talking gossip and cursing with other student who is her friend I believe - late every time Miscommunication about times. It was always changing. Yes for all three times. - would try to distract you by talking and even saying some racist comments about this one topic - was confusing to talk to because she doesn't speak full English - Car was kept very unclean and stuffy. - I felt very inferior while driving. Meaning I would try to feel confident but she would often not let me drive without her using the damn brake and gas. Like let me see if I can at least do this without you braking. - overall, the fact is the teaching was minimal. I'm left with so many questions because of this lady. Just glad it's over. All that matters is I got hours of driving under my belt. I was able to drive and that's it. That's all I can take away. No one should feel uneasy about driving but all I felt was disappointment. Best thing I suggest is driving with someone you know or at a more refined location of driving school. read more

This place is horrible. I did an online course and then got en email saying everything will be submitted and not to submit anything to the court or dmv. Now my insurance went up and guess nothing was submitted. I called asking and the rude guy that picked up said if submitted it . I said ur emails say not to. He kept saying the same thing over and over. I will he reporting this place to the BBB and to the DMV for them to be removed. Thank for no help. jimmy is the worst instructor. i am a female 18 yrs old. He made me cry while driving and have an anxiety attack. Hit my hand off the wheel and was extremely invasive and rude. he told me I would never pass my driving test. I did pass one week later but he did not teach me anything and made me even more scared to drive. read more

Great driving school and for a great price. I was already pretty good at driving but jimmy (my instructor) saw minor flaws in my driving that he helped me correct. Jimmy also has a lot of patience and is a great talker. Don't know what the negative comments are talking about as this place is awesome. Definitely would recommend this place. read more

The lack of professionalism the instructor had made me dislike the whole process of learning how to drive.

This driving school was one of the many reasons I passed my driving test first try. My instructor jimmy was always very friendly and always found out ways to help me improve on my driving skills. But obviously when it came to being serious it was a struggle for me but at the end of the day him being super serious sometimes is the discipline I needed to ensure I would improve. Today I took my test and I passed it first try with very little mistakes. Highly recommend this school if you're looking to have someone teach you how to drive. read more

This is a great driving school specially for high school students who have a busy schedule. They were very accommodating through out the process of my son getting his permit and license. Jimmy is a great instructor and I would greatly recommend him. He is very patient and knowledgeable when it comes to teaching first time drivers. If I could give no stars I would ! This place doesn't know how to operate !! They didn't submit my paperwork to the DMV as mention on the receipt I got by email, my insurance has skyrocketed as a result of that and when I went in to see what happened the guy sitting there watching YouTube videos on his phone said I need to find the printed document that proves I finished the class .. HELLO isn't that something you can pull up on the computer sitting in front of you?! I am always so damn busy and don't have time during the week to go meet with the manager of this place to see what the hell happened here but I really need to make it a point to.. if I knew initially it would be this much of a problem I could have just paid the camera ticket in full and not done traffic school ! Y'all Lourdes really has me out here driving to places so she can run errands and she doesn't even time the drives so she out here doing her stuff while I was paying her. When we were actually driving she was talking to her friends. The other day we were gonna do 3 hrs and she picked me up 3:45 (15 minutes late) and we drove to places to make TWO of her payments and she dropped me off at 6:20. So not only did she not complete my time but she also said she would make up for that time that she took when she did her payments at the mall. BUT NO SHE DIDNT. The South Gate driving school consists of a man who simply does not care about his students. Additionally, during lessons all the man does is talk on the phone when he should be paying attention to what his student is doing. Not to mention the fact that he wastes class time to go into fast food joints and takes his sweet time to fully wear out his lesson time. Lastly, he tries to put the lessons together in order to save gas and cover the same route numerous times. Do not recommend. read more

To start off Miguel is great it's a family operated business but don't let that fool you. This man's skills and tactics are amazing. He cares about his students and all that they do. He will pick you up from your house and have you drive from there. This man I owe a lot to I had not passed my driving test 6 times and already went through two permits and was already on my third one . He will take you out and see what he needs to focus on. And if your new to the driving world he is patient and takes his time and is very sweet and kind. He teaches you the principles you need to know in order to pass the test and how to affectively use them in the test and enforce them in your normal day driving. He's all around a great guy and a excellent teacher. read more

I came here with no experience.. I paid $200 for 6 classes. I requested a female instructor and I was assigned Lourdes (the instructor) on the first day she was late. I was very excited to finally learn how to drive and I was disappointed that the instructor was being unpunctual. The next class she had another student in the car (she was the student driver prior to my class) The student was in the back seat and I was driving, the instructor made me drive the student to her house. Which I found extremely unprofessional. And the last class was the worst, She was on the phone almost the whole time and she made me drive her to do her errands and I had to get off with her since she couldn't leave me in the car by myself and she had groceries in the back and guess what? I drove to her house and had to wait for her to drop off her groceries. I don't mind the fact that I'm driving her around because during that time I'm practicing but for me to wait for her in the car, get off the car to go run her errands is ridiculous. I'd rather go to a driving school that dedicates there time to exclusively teach me how to drive. Save your coins!! Go to City driving school in Bell!! They are way better. Maybe the instructor should go too to learn a thing or two about professionalism. read more
