Wall decor

We drove out to Pullman hoping for a solid meal and maybe a new favorite spot. Instead, we got a reminder that good marketing doesn't always equal good food. My wife ordered the baby back ribs, which looked promising -- right up until she tried to eat them. They were so dry I think we both heard them crack when she cut in. "Fall off the bone"? Nope. More like claw your way to freedom. The BBQ sauce was alright, but the coleslaw... yikes. It tasted like someone accidentally left it in the sun and then forgot to add flavor when they remembered it existed. I went with the Prime Rib Dip, expecting something rich and juicy. Instead, I got thin, dry slices of meat that no amount of au jus could resurrect. The fries were the only survivors -- crispy, seasoned, and actually edible. The bartender was friendly, and the atmosphere was solid. But when the fries and the decor are the highlights, that's not exactly a win. If you're in the area and starving, sure, it'll do. But if you're thinking of driving out of your way for it -- don't. Gas is too expensive for disappointment.

We went for lunch on a Saturday at around 2 pm. It wasn't busy and there was no wait. We were seated in a booth area. I ordered a limeade with some berry flavor, it was good and tart which I enjoyed. I also got the southwest chicken salad. I enjoyed it and it had a good dressing on it. We also got the cougar gold Mac and cheese. It tasted pretty good and I liked the toppings. Something I was a little disappointed about was the service. I got irritated that we were in the middle of eating when our waitress asked to get a box for us. Even though we weren't done eating and our plates were barely eaten, I felt we were trying to get rushed out. So I said yeah a box and took home everything home before I was done. It wasn't busy either so it wasn't like we were taking up space for other people. I don't know, it just rubbed me the wrong way and made me feel rushed out.

Best place in Pullman! Expect a small wait, as it's very popular but it's worth! Awesome atmosphere, just a really comfortable vibe, and super welcoming. The service was fantastic from the moment we walked in! The hostess up front was nice and our waitress was incredible! The food was DELICIOUS! Best pulled pork sandwich with really good shoestring fries and GREAT bbq wings. Would get it all again! The Fried Cookie Dough was okay, was worth trying once!

Buffalo chicken salad was oddly very spicy

The best thing about this restaurant was the super friendly hostess and the 60's music. I'll always remember this place for the unfortunate poor service and flies everywhere! Our waiter barely uttered a word to us, zero eye contact and was full of one word answers. When placing our order it was met with silence as he punched it in, "mmm-hmmmm", and "yeah"s. The flies inside were so gross. The food seemed oddly over seasoned and spicy when not necessary. The fish tacos oddly spicy. The buffalo chicken salad was mouth burning. The margarita was oddly very tangy. Terrible and disappointing experience.

Happy birthday to me! (Boozie Berry and Pullman Water)

South Fork has indoor restaurant seating, bar area seating, and a back patio (when it's nice and warm out). The back patio is by far my favorite place to be. I like that take-out orders are simple through the Local by Toast app and we can usually get a free order of the soft pretzels (there's a minimum spend to get the free item). I do enjoy the pretzels but we usually give them to one of my husband's classmates. My other favorite thing is their beer menu. They have a big selection and it's live on Untappd so I can view the current options on my phone (and even check the options when selecting our dinner spot). Cocktails: I love the virgin mojito but started avoiding the alcoholic options because I've had a couple different bad ones and one I couldn't even convince myself to keep sipping. They probably have different bartenders now (college town...) but it still feels safer to focus on the beer. We used to like the steak here but the quality hasn't been great the last couple times so we stopped ordering it. These days I usually get a burger, fish and chips, or the steak salad (the meat is all edible on the salads) and the salmon for my husband. Their latest specials haven't caught my attention like they used to but I have enjoyed the seasonal strawberry salad before.

Mac and Cheese with Buffalo Chicken on top! Do it!!!!!

Pretty standard food, excellent beer selection! Fries, above averages, I love me some shoe strings fries! It took a few trips but I did find a favorite. Get the famous Mac and cheese with buffalo chicken added. The combination of buffalo sauce with the Mac and cheese make a perfect marriage! Before finding this gem I was an ok 3 star type of place, not bad, not great, a little over priced but good. After finding this a true 4 stars for me!

Bacon cheeseburger

Food was excellent! The bacon cheeseburger and fries were very satisfying. Very fun interior and good service. I will return to try their Cougar Gold Mac and Cheese!

One of my favorite places on the Palouse! Southfork's staff is always friendly and accommodating. Their food and ambiance is stellar! (Plenty of seating!) Summers are pleasant with their outdoor seating in the back! Quick service! I crave their breadsticks and lettuce wraps almost daily! Cougar Gold Mac and Cheese is always top notch! I don't drink, but their local drinks on tap and cocktails are always a hit with my coworkers!

Asian Chicken Salad w/breadstick

I ordered the Asian chicken salad... Generous with both the chicken and the dressing; you might want to ask for the dressing to be put on the side as there was quite a lot of it. Also, I was pestered by 2 fruit flies and killed both; mentioned it to the server and he acknowledged that he "...had noticed them, recently;" probably not a great thing to have around salads as one landed on my salad and I had to fish it out!! They close at 9 and I got there about 8:10 and it was really busy for a Monday night... Lots of "noise," if you have anyone to consider this issue with.

Only took a photo of my beer. Too hungry to wait when the food arrived.

This was a great place to visit during our recent trip toEastern Washington. We went on we thought was going to be a quiet night, however, it wasn't. There was about a 45 minute to an hour wait for a table. Well, the wait was worth it. we were served immediately. The server was very friendly, engaging, easy to get along with. We all ordered something different, from a burger to wings to a salad. All of this was very good. We enjoyed our meal very much. It was a bit of a noisy ambience, but for the kind of place that it is, it was very appropriate. Thanks for making it a great experience.

This was my first time here and I thought it was pretty good. The inside was nice and clean, it had a good atmosphere. I got the Asian chicken salad which was good, lots of flavor and good portion, I also got the Pullman water to drink which was decent. Overall this place was good, the service could've been a little better but I'll definitely go back at some point.

Food was good, service was not. Unfortunately, that has been my experience every time I have visited.

Love their cocktails and extensive menu. It can be busy on the big weekends but it is worth the wait! Don't say no to the fries :)

Do you need reservations?

I'm not sure if they even take reservations. Unless it's a football/family/graduation weekend (there might be a ~30+ minute wait those weekends) you should be able to get a table right away (especially if it's 2-4 people). During the summer we often… Read more

The workers here were very friendly. They take your order at the bar and then bring the food over when it's ready. I came here for breakfast and lunch. For breakfast, I had their bangers & mash. They make their own sausage in house and have rotating flavors. I tried their bratwurst & curry chicken sausages, both were great. My husband ordered their sausage roll, which came with a crisp puff pastry and sauce. He also ordered the chip butty, which are chips on a ciabatta roll. Later in the day, for lunch, we shared a scotch egg. The scotch egg was perfectly runny and had a crisp outside. We also shared the fish & chips and ordered the cod as the fish. It tasted very fresh and flavorful. All of our food was great here. I would highly recommend this place.

I asked for recommendations from the girl who worked there and she recommended one vegetarian item on the appetizers rather than being enthusiastic about the menu at all. The food was ok, but overpriced for what you got. I liked my fish and chips with mushy peas. The sausages were ok, flavor-wise, but kinda... soft... no sausage "snap" to them. The food is somewhere between a three and a four but the service, and the lack there of, was a one. Didn't really have an Irish pub vibe, at all. Very touristy.
