I stopped in at the first place I could think of and the Service manager was so so helpful. He and the technician emptied my loaded to the brim rear hatch to access the spare tire. Luckily it was a full size spare. They proceeded to jack it up and install the spare tire perfectly and efficiently. When I asked what I owed the service manager just smiled and said NOTHING! He was responsive when I was messaging with him before heading up to Parksville from Victoria. My truck unfortunately experienced a major mechanical failure on my drive home that resulted in it being out of commission for 2 months from the day I purchased it. I reached a point where I contacted Harris Oceanside to discuss to possibility of a buy back or exchange and was completely dismissed by Sales Manager Nate and was told " if we have to, we can pay you drug money to buy the truck back if needed but let the mechanics do their thing" before being told he had to go because there was a customer in the lobby. I again reached out after the truck broke a second time and I was coming up on 2 months and only being able to drive my truck 4 times (2 of which where the times it broke down). This time I contacted Joe who advised he escalated the issue to the General Sales Manager . I received no follow up or contact from the General Sales Manager and that was well over a month ago. I again spoke to Joe prior to posting this review and said I was open to a conversation with the GSM regarding my experience and the lack of follow up from their department regarding my concerns. Joe said he passed these concerns on again to the GSM. Big surprise! I once again received no follow up or contact from the General Sales Manager! From reading other reviews it seems this Sales Department operates under the premise of getting the customer to sign on the dotted line before completely dismissing them and moving on to the next potential sale. No post purchase customer care or concern. I would highly recommend avoiding purchasing a vehicle through Harris Oceanside and take your business elsewhere.

Harris failed to disclose the Kia was previously a rental car. I reported Harris Oceanside to the Vehicle Authority of British Columbia on July 7, 2025 after Harris and I were not able to arrive at an mutually agreeable resolution. On September 09, 2025 the VSA determined that Oceanside failed to declare that the Kia had previously been a rental car. The VSA ruling: Based on the VSA investigation, the information and evidence, I have determined the following regarding your complaint: The purchase agreement did not indicate that the vehicle had previously been a rental car - Substantiated: The evidence demonstrates that Oceanside failed to declare that the Kia had previously been a rental car on the Purchase Agreement. Any potential resolutions are between you and Oceanside as the VSA cannot compel a Motor Dealer to do anything or respond in one way or another with regards to a specific consumer transaction. If a resolution cannot be reached betwee you and Oceanside, you have the option of seeking legal advice or civil action. This is definitely the worse car buying experience I have ever had!
