The owner Atif has been messing with salaries. He would hire someone just to use mobbing style management... like ... "I don't need your fing biz". Fire on a whim just to call a day later to say he was joking. Just to learn from a provider third party that my services were terminated without a proper notice. He would make people wait for their hard earned checks hours and hours and ask if that person even deserved it. Besides constant yelling within few inches away from the face and slamming door in a face ... there were a few people that one could reason with... When I was shopping for a used car during Summer 2019, I came across listings for South Chicago Auto Auction. I was able to determine that they were co-located with First Marshall Auto Auction. Something just seemed wrong, so I never went to check any of them in person. Tonight, Monday, November 4, 2019, First Marshall Auto Auction was featured on the CBS channel 2 news for their unfair and plain illegal business practices. There were several first hand accounts of how the personnel cheated customers out of hundreds and thousands or dollars, and footage of a reporter undercover. Nobody should ever do any business here, and hopefully the owners and managers will end out in jail soon. read more

Buyer Beware. This is an absolute rip off. If you have never gone to an aution, don't let this be your first one. I'll tell you why: 1. They won't let you see the mileage on the cars. It could have 200,000 miles and you can't know until you buy the car. 2. They make absolutely no guarantees, there are auctions that will at least tell the transmission is working. 3. They have hidden fees that they do not disclose on their website. Make sure you read the fine print on the bidders paddle they give you. Some fees can be as much as 25% of the sales price. WOW. 4. Soon as the auctions starts, they will close the garage door as soon as the cars enter. This denies you the opportunity to check the cars waiting in line. You can't know if the A/C, radio, sunroof or any options work! 5. When a car does enter the garage for bidding, they make you stand far away from the car so you can't see much of what might be wrong with the exterior. 6. You will have approximately 30 seconds to make a decision on a transaction that will cost thousands of dollars. Who in the world does that? 7. Keep in mind.....you don't have to do business under those conditions. I have bought many cars at auction....just not with these guys. Again, buyer beware 8. This place is a complete joke. You view their website online with a variety of options of vehicles but when you get there none of the cars you saw online are even there. The auction is ridiculous. They start with an outrageous price which no vehicle there is even worth. Also when you go online to see the car they're selling the prices are way lower than they are trying to sell. WHY LIE. No one is that stupid. And to top it off EVERY EMPLOYEE IS RUDE AND PUSHY. Get mad just because you don't want buy anything that is complete TRASH. read more

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME - This auction house is a complete bait and switch. 1. Adds online that bring people in, but when you call no one can tell you ANYTHING about the car/truck whatever. There is a good reason for that - THE VEHICLES ARENT THERE AND DONT EXIST! - Call yourself and see. 2. You register with a attendant that doesn't speak - At all! 3. Walk the yard and look for the cars you saw online and if you find one consider yourself a lottery winner. 4. Tried to ask personnel questions on why the cars arent there and all they said was "someone will be here to start taking bids soon". I said I have questions about vehicles that were online that I don't see out there. The response I received was "someone will be here to start taking bids soon". So my response was "you aren't going to answer my questions then?" he responded - "correct". Can you believe that. 5. FEE'S! - CRAZY ASS FEE'S! - from 25% for $0 - $1500 to 11% for purchases over $3900. AND THEN! There is another $250 for processing. Almost $1000 in fee's in some case. RIDICULOUS! The horror stories of every one trying to get a deal is heartbreaking; especially when they are the ones who can least afford to lose the money. It is hard to believe that there are people as soul less as the owners and employees of this auction/scam place. I think we all know where they are headed. Very unwilling to work with customers. Asked to see vehicle prior to purchase but denied. Put down payment down prior to signing paperwork. Then was told what the final price would be, they refused to return the deposit. It was about 10 minutes after exchanging money but absolutely refused to return money. Was told to call manager, Al, but he was never available and has yet to return any of our calls. Very much would never recommend buying anything from this shady business. Battery was dead, would not charge, but said that was our problem by man at desk near the front door. Stay away, FAR AWAY! read more

While complaints about this company are much deserved, you need only stop and think about what you're getting into. Whenever a dealer or private seller offers a car at far less than book value, you have to assume there are issues. The old "too good to be true" adage. In short, these guys are taking cars that were traded in at respectable dealerships, because the owner either couldn't afford to or didn't want to fix what was wrong with it. The dealer gives them a few bucks, in lieu of the cars' condition, then peddles the car to guys like SCAAH to get it off their lot. SCAAH then offers the car, at what would seem like a ridiculously low price, knowing perfectly well the car needs major repair. They purposely mask the problems, by refusing to let people inspect the cars or start them up. Then they add insult to injury with exorbitant, hidden fees. Frankly, I'm shocked that cars.com, or any respectable advertising medium, accepts ads from these crooks. read more

Total loss of 4 hours studying their inventory on the website, and 6 hours to go there and find out they are engineered to deceive and lie to you. On the phone they said 3 times that you can see the mileage of the cars when you visit the lot (one hour before auction start). They know it is a lie as you never get the keys to turn the lights on and see the mileage, and they do not provide a list of mileage; all these cars are sold without the buyer knowing how many miles it has... I had selected 5 cars to review on the lot before the auction: 4 of them were not there, and one could be seen from a distance but it was not available for this sale (I am not even sure it was the car I wanted since I could not approach it). They advertise that you can print the ads and buy the car at that price without going through the auction. THIS IS A LIE. When I told them I wanted to give them the ad price ($6500) for that stock number they refused to do it. another staff member said that I had to wait and see if that car came through the auction (which it never did), and a third staff member said that they say anything on the phone to get you to come, but that car was in a lot reserved for Registered Dealers... I came prepared with computer printouts of 20 cars in their inventory and marked the prices at which the bid started and the prices at which the cars were rolled out (rarely sold, generally back to the lot). Most of the bids started well above the advertised price and I witnessed a couple of cars sold above the advertised price; a few bids ended lower than the advertised price before the car was rolled out back to the lot. After an hour, the same cars, which no one had bid on, were brought back through a second attempted auction. Exercise EXTREME CAUTION if you decide to try your luck there. Be prepared because they are experienced SCAM ARTIST. read more

This place sells nothing but absolute garbage at terrible prices. The great majority of the cars have close to our over 200k miles. They won't let you get close to the cars, you can't test drive it, they won't give you any info on it, once you get interested and they try to get you to buy the car they start to pull out a whole bunch of hidden fees of nowhere. The more you offered for the car, the biggest the fees. I know plenty of people who've bought a car from here's at one point and regretted it terribly. Don't let the guy who's getting you to fill out the paperwork yell at you. He tried that with me and it didn't quite go as planned for him. Just because you made an offer on a car didn't mean you have to buy it! They haven't gotten you to sign anything, so ignore what they say and their stupid BS rules and fees. DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE! Might as well flush your money down the toilet. They do not tell you all the hidden fees. Bought a car for $1900 and came out to $2800 with the fees. Taxes were only $132. I heard of South Chicago Auto Auction of Harvey, online through carsforsale.com. This is a horrible, horrible company that uses deceptive business practices to get people to buy from their auction. Both myself and my neighbor called the acution before driving the two hrs needed to get there. We asked on several different occassions if the auction charged any additonal fees on top of the bids for the vehicles and we were told no there weren't. We both placed bids on vehicles and were immediately taken to a room to pay the deposit. A non-refundable deposit. After the auction was over at 10pm we had to wait an additonal 21/2 hrs before my neighbors name was called at 12:30am to pay the remaining balance for her car. Half of the people were still waiting. All of us were kept in a warehouse with no heat because they turned it off when the owners left, no chairs, and no tissue in any of the bathrooms. After all of our deposits were collected we were treated horribly!!!! When my neighbor went to pay for her car she was charged an additonal $700 in fees. Eventhough we were told over the phone there weren't any. But......, the fine print on the paddle said otherwise and there was a refference to fees on the deposit slip but no calculation of any. That came at the end and took everyone by surprise. My neighbor chose to walk away from her deposit of $600, unfortunately I couldn't afford to loose the $1000 I used as my deposit. I returned on Saturday after the auction to get my suv and it was the same thing. The auction was over at 5:30pm but most people were still waiting at 10pm for their vehicles. Some of the customers were angry and hostile because of the long wait and the hidden fees. One lady was arressted because she attacked one of the workers after he refussed to return her deposit. She too was told there were no additonal fees. One lady used the ATM in the warehouse to get $320 to pay for fees on her car. However, the ATM only gave her $120 but debited her account for $320. She was exceptionally upset & was told it happens all the time. They assured her that if she called the number on her receipt her account would be credited in 24hrs. She called but they were closed. Insult to injury, they refussed to give her the car because she didn't have all the money. The auction also hires off duty police officers to protect and secure their ill practices. These officers do absolutely nothing to protect the rights of the public eventhough they know the practices are unethical, Which is probably why their still in business despite all of the complaints. Besides, the car your looking for has more than likely been sold because my car is still listed on their website as of tonight as being for sale eventhough its in the shop needing over $4000 in repairs. Please don't buy anything from this auciton. Times are hard and were all looking for quality in what we buy with our hard earned dollars. I wish I would have been warned prior to my purchase. Which is why I'm warning YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are a preowned vehicle dealer located in central Illinois. This auction has repeatedly called our dealership trying to get us to attend their auction. I asked the person calling if their auction also ran online since we do not get up that way, they told me that they did not have a online option and I asked to please be taken off the call list since we would not be driving 3 hours to their auction. They have called at least two to three times per week since I have asked to be removed from the calling list. We are a business that runs with minimal staff to be able to pay everyone a fair wage so this ridiculous calling which interrupts us when we are dealing with customers is uncalled for. I finally asked to speak to a manager or owner of the auction and was transferred to a person named Mohamed, he assured me that we were to be removed from the call list. The calls from then on became more frequent and sometimes twice a day. I finally had to blow my stack and threaten to drive up to their auction if we couldn't get this resolved by phone. Mohamed again promised me that this would be corrected, we will see if this corrects this issue. As a auto dealer for 29 years, this experience would make me believe that this is definitely not a place where I would want to try to purchase vehicles to offer our customers. The whole experience makes me think this place is poorly ran and I would think it to be the last place you would want to trust with your vehicle and or title! read more

This place is a rip off! They force you to sign their terms and conditions, you can't even listen to the car when you check them out for an hour, you have to wait until they drive them through. Once you make your bid they send you away and pick up is 9pm. I was there from 5:30 to 10 P.M. Thats not the worse part. Once they call your name to go get the temporary registration and pay the balance they show you an additional fee of $99 auction fee, 6% sales tax (depending where you live), 25% buyer's premium (depends on the cost of car), and registration fee of $151.00. So lets use me for example. I placed a bid of $2000 on a 2004 Crown Vic. Yes great deal, but after the fees added up, once I went to pay they said I owed a total of $2700. So the higher the price of the car you get the more additional fees. All Im saying is be prepared, or do not go! I couldn't even drive my $2700 purchase off the lot because the battery didn't work, and they did nothing but say "Come back tomorrow"!!!!! Do not go to this place! Absolutely horrible! HORRIBLE....Absolutely HORRIBLE place to try to buy a car!!! I would rather be robbed at gunpoint than to ever go to this auto auction again and be robbed in my face! They will do anything to cheat you out of your money. The salesman ripped me off and tried to make me pay a bid price that I myself did not bid. You can't speak to anyone about the deal tht you are making until the bidding is over for the day, and they make you wait to go inside until the auctioneer and sales team have enough time to leave the premises. I tried to talk to the salesman and supervisor before I paid for the car and was told that they had all left already and I wouldn't be able to talk to anyone until the following Monday! I'm sure you can guess what happened that Monday....NO ANSWER! No matter how many times I called! You are "required" to place a 25% deposit that is non refundable, fine, but to tell me that my $600.00 that they kept isn't 25% of 2400.00 is idiotic! They ripped me off and are just waiting for the next car auction ignorant person to show up so that they can do the same. There were 40 people there to buy cars that day and I spoke with 15 of them who had almost identical stories! i would say -20 stars, this people are crooks and ripoff they tell all good stuff about the cars on Autotrader.com and even if u call them they'll tell u yes it still available but when u get there u won't find it.i purchased a car from them for $2500 and i ended up paying $3,165 and they give me a Title that was assigned to some body else's name and i took it back to my home State they did not accept it and had to go back to the dealer that charged me again an other $150 or other wise i will never get a title assigned to my name..also i spent over $1000 repairs on the car+i almost got into a car accident because one of the front wheel had a problem that i paied $300 to fix+ i just discovered that the car i purshased as a 4/4 suv has the shifter of the 4/4 was removed so the car really worth about $1000 and i paid $3165 bull shit dealer do not go there.if you want to complain you may do so by calling the IL Secretary Of State Police 630-693-0551 they the ones who over sees this crooks read more
