Our experience with Montway Auto Transport was extremely disappointing. We paid $3,229 for enclosed transport of a 2024 Porsche 911 from East Hampton, NY to Beverly Hills, CA, with an estimated 7-9-day delivery. Instead, Montway arrived with an open trailer without disclosing this beforehand, transported the vehicle to New Jersey, and left it at a facility for 8 days!!!--something we were also never told would happen. Communication throughout the process was astonishingly terrible given their reviews online. We later learned from the supervisor Lily that the original carrier had missed the pickup, yet Montway never notified us. I repeatedly requested updates and calls from supervisors that never came. The supervisor Lily ultimately acknowledged that mistakes had been made and that we had been misled regarding both the transportation arrangements and delivery timeframe. She also acknowledged that she was going to do everything in her power to assist in a refund, but the vehicle would need to be delivered first; which made zero sense. The vehicle was finally delivered on September 14, nearly three weeks after booking. After delivery, Lily with Montway told us she was working on a 50% refund, despite everything that occurred. They ultimately did not issue even that refund; their offer $100 credit..... and we declined. Lily said, it was the best they could do... The best thing THEY could have done was do the right thing considering the mistake after mistake after mistake they made. Between the undisclosed open transport and storage, significant delays, lack of communication, misleading information, and failure to honor even their proposed partial refund, this was a horrible and unacceptable experience. I am extremely disappointed with our experience with this auto transport company. We hired them to transport our vehicle from Washington to Florida, and the car was supposed to have already arrived in Florida by now. Instead, it has been sitting in a town in Washington for several days with absolutely no movement. We have called more than 20 times trying to get an update or even basic information about where our vehicle is and when we can expect it to arrive. For days, no one could give us any meaningful information. We were finally told there was an issue with the transport truck, but there has been little to no communication about what is being done to resolve the problem or when our vehicle will actually continue its journey. We understand that mechanical problems and unexpected delays can happen. What is unacceptable is the complete lack of communication and customer service afterward. When a company is entrusted with someone's vehicle and a cross-country delivery, customers should not have to make 20+ phone calls just to find out why their car hasn't moved for days. At this point, our vehicle is significantly delayed, still in Washington, and we have not been provided with a clear plan or reliable delivery date. Here is what happened: Empty Promises: On December 23, 2016, Rafael assured me my car could be picked up by December 30, so I placed the order. For the next week, I called daily and was repeatedly told, "Sir, we assure you it will be picked up tomorrow." On the final day (Dec 30), they admitted finding a carrier was unlikely, forcing me to cancel. Bait and Switch: On January 6, they called back claiming they found a carrier for January 8, but demanded an extra $150. I explicitly asked if this new quote covered my 100 lbs of personal items. The agent checked with the carrier and confirmed the $1,329 quote was all-inclusive. I paid the extra $150 via PayPal. Hidden Fees & Extortion: When I called the carrier directly, they stated Montway never mentioned any personal items and refused to take them. When I called Montway to resolve their mistake, they demanded another $150 on top of the increased quote--threatening cancellation and cancellation fees if I didn't comply. Given it was a scheduled pick, there was very Poor communication about process, no mention of possible tow service, no advance notice from tow company, and tow service did not have secure lot. Driver was very abrupt and inexperienced, kept texting me for money after car was picked up; tow fee, tolls, weigh station. He texted me that he couldn't drop at address. Owner lives on a road that handles horse and cattle trailers, so roads are more than sizable to handle trucks. Driver parked his truck in a travel lane on the main road and blocked one of the neighborhood entrances. When owner finally met driver face to face, he was a real jerk. I purchased my Lexus on August 18th in Florida. I arranged transportation through Montway Auto Transport to have it shipped from Fl to SD, as I travel temporarily for work. My car was picked up on August 27th and was supposed to be delivered around August 30th/31st. Around the time it was supposed to be delivered is when I began to have a bad gut feeling. Instead of my car showing up on the 31st, I started getting different explanations for why it was delayed. There was confusion with Montway about which carrier company has possession of the vehicle citing that during the initial pickuo they did not provide the correct company to pick up the vehicle. I was then told there were delays due to ither vehicle pickup along the route, and at one point I was told the transport truck had broken down. Most importantly , Supervisor Lily at Montway reassured me that my car was okay/secure. Meanwhile, I still did not have my car, Montway could not provide the location of my vehicle as West Coast Auto, their carrier, was not responding. It wasn't until September 1st that I actually found out my Lexus had been extensively damaged while in the carrier's possession. When I finally received photos from supervisor Lily I was shocked. The windshield is basically destroyed, there is significant damage to the roof/upper windshield area. I bought this CPO Lexus IS car on August 18th.It was picked up by Montways Carrier West Coast on August 27th. I was expecting it at the end of August. By September 1st I was finding out that the car I had owned for less than two weeks was sitting severely damaged and couldn't even be driven. The process then began of trying to figure out where my car ended up and what actually happened to it. I made call after call, left voicemails, sent emails and spoke with Montway, the carrier, their insurance company and eventually my own insurance company. I've been given multiple explanations of what happened that don't add up with each other. The cherry on top is there was no police report filed by the driver of truck, in who's truck supposedly was broken down and had multiple other vehicles on the rig that were also damaged. The carrier, West Coast Auto Transport, opened a claim with its insurance company,. West Coast and their insurer have essentially gone silent providing no meaningful updates. What also really bothers me is that Montway still has not refunded the $1,799 I paid them to transport my car. I was told by a supervisor that the refund had to go through their claims department while they figured out payment issues involving the carrier. Was told they could not provide timeline for refund process let alone confirm refund can be done! Whatever is going on financially between Montway and the company they contracted is not my problem. I paid Montway $1,799 to transport my car from Florida to South Dakota. Instead, I ended up with a severely damaged, non-operable vehicle that still hasn't been returned to me. Services never rendered. I've used Montway multiple times before this with my previous vehicle and have spent close to $5,000 with them altogether, so I am appalled that I am being treated this way when they and their carrier company have dropped the ball, big time. At this point I've filed complaints with the BBB and soon to be with FMCSA, disputed the $1,799 transportation charge with Montway and my bank. If you value your vehicle, your time, or your sanity, DO NOT hire Montway Auto Transport. They market themselves as a "premium" broker, but they are actually a negligent middleman that harvests your fee and then subcontracts your property to the most careless, bottom-of-the-barrel carriers available. I trusted them with my 2023 BMW M4 Competition. They assigned the job to GQ Line LLC, a company operating a trailer that was in a state of absolute squalor. The equipment was disheveled and structurally unsafe--the ramps had sharp, lifted metal edges, and the driver was using loose wooden blocks as makeshift ramps to load and unload high-end vehicles. It is a miracle my car wasn't totaled by this "professional" setup. Because of their hazardous equipment, my car was delivered with a completely flat front driver-side tire. Upon inspection at the BMW dealership, it was discovered that the tire had been punctured in two separate places. Because these are high-performance, low-profile tires, they could not be patched and required a total replacement. Furthermore, since the vehicle arrived in an undrivable state, I was forced to call a towing company to transport the car from my home to the dealership, adding even more out-of-pocket expenses to a situation that was 100% their fault. The driver spoke very little English, which Montway apparently thinks is acceptable for a client-facing logistics role. It was nearly impossible to get a clear confirmation that the damage was being recorded. When I repeatedly pointed out the flat tire at delivery, the driver just nodded and said "yes" to everything while shoving a blank phone screen in my face to sign. I was essentially held hostage--I had to sign a blank digital form I couldn't read just to get my car released from their dilapidated truck. For over two weeks (March 30th to April 14th), Montway's claims department did effectively nothing. They claim to "mediate," but they actually just sit in the middle and forward vague emails while the carrier dodges responsibility. Even worse, when I finally gave up on Montway and demanded the carrier's insurance info, Montway provided me with the wrong insurance contact. They are so disorganized they don't even keep accurate records of the people they are hiring to drive your cars. The only reason I finally got reimbursed for the cost of the tow and the damages was because I did the work Montway was too lazy to do. I had to hunt down the carrier's actual insurance provider myself. Within hours of me contacting the insurance company--who immediately cc'd Montway and the carrier on a demand for payment--the carrier suddenly "found" their Venmo and paid me. Montway took my money and left me to fight a battle they were paid to handle. They have no vetting process for their carriers' equipment, they provide garbage data to their customers, and they have zero backbone when it comes to holding their vendors accountable. Texted assigned carrier and no response. When calling Montway all you get is AI generated voice. When requested tot alk to a live person you cant get anyone on the line. I hired Montway to transport my personal vehicle to another state as part of my move. Because the shipping cost was high enough to exceed my credit card limit, Montway proposed splitting the payment: a deposit by credit card and the remaining balance in cash. I agreed to this arrangement. I was also told that paying the balance in cash would qualify me for a discount. However, as soon as I provided my credit card information, communication completely stopped. Instead of charging only the agreed deposit, Montway charged my credit card for more than the full agreed amount without my authorization. As a result, my credit card exceeded its limit. Since then, I have repeatedly tried to contact Montway by phone and email, but I have received no meaningful response. The only emails I continue to receive are automated messages demanding that I approve my credit card payment. To be fair, the carrier that Montway assigned was professional, courteous, and did an excellent job transporting my vehicle. They are not responsible for this issue. My complaint is entirely about Montway's billing practices and customer service. It is also concerning that the transportation proceeded normally while the payment dispute remained completely unresolved. At this point, I genuinely don't know how to resolve the situation. When you deal with Montway you should know that you are dealing with a broker...not the trucker . Therefore , whatever agreements , arrangements that you make with Montway ...may or may not get to the trucker. In my case they apparently didn't mention them to the trucker ....and when I tried to communicate with the trucker ...he didn't speak English . No matter how many times I told him that I don't speak Spanish., he responded in Spanish...it didn't matter. He accused me of discrimination..and said I was "threatening" him.?? I had negotiated the possibility of an alternative delivery address. It ended up being 15 miles from the alternative first address ...he wouldn't deliver it, confrontational .....unless I paid him an additional $100 for 15 miles ..a real money grab! I recently had a vehicle transported just about the entire cross country distance and the broker motley had arranged for the transport agent by the name of Pedro and his company CAR CARRIERS USA to transport my vehicle. In the process of getting everything situated there was a couple times there where the person Vermont way that was working with me had said he would call me back and never did and I was just about to find another shipping company when we made contact so I decided to go with them because of their reviews. He sent me the information of the driver in the company that was going to be doing the transport for me. Pedro contacted me quickly he was professional he was helpful and there was absolutely no pressure on my schedule to fit his schedule. We agreed on the day he would pick it up in the time and he was here at the time he said he would be he loaded my vehicle and made it look easy. He made sure I had his contact information and made sure the person that was going to be receiving my vehicle for me had his contact information. The vehicle arrived at its destination early. He called me once during the transport to let me know where he was at that was very helpful. And then he called and confirmed that the vehicle had been delivered. If I ever need to ship another vehicle in the future I will go through monthly but I will ask to use Pedro and his company car carriers USA once again. Pedro his customer service skills are absolutely outstanding! He knows how to talk to people and how to treat people. And for that reason alone is why I would do business with monthly to get Pedro and his company to transport for me when that day comes. read more

Day 6 - 7, broker drove around, I'm assuming picking up other vehicles. Day 8, vehicle has not left the start of origin. This review is based on being charged cancellation fee even though I clearly request cancellation well before anyone was dispatched. On Monday, June 15th, 2026, at 7:59AM PST time, I sent a cancellation request on my outlook email as specified exactly in there terms and condition as followed to the email of info@montway.com. Section 9: c. Cancellation of an Order by Customer must be submitted in writing via email sent to info@montway.com. Cancellations made via telephone, text, chat or any other medium will not be accepted by Montway. No one was dispatched yet when that email was sent that. I have uploaded the receipt of the email to this complaint On Wednesday. June 17th, 11:37AM PST, I received an email that a driver was dispatched even though my cancellation was well before that. I was told on call on Wednesday that I would be charged because someone was dispatched. Why was someone dispatched when I clearly cancelled the order well before that? As specified in their terms and condition: a. Customer may cancel an Order at any time at no cost or cancellation fees as long as the Order has not yet been accepted by a Carrier. They claimed on call they could not find the email record and claimed I will be charged the cancellation fee. I would be happy to work with Montway, the BBB, and outlook, to show proof of this email receipt that was was sent to their email at info@montway.com. I have provided them the receipt of the email record on the phone call and in chat and it was still not resolved. As of now this is also a filed complaint with the BBB and will be disputed with my bank if it comes to that. Edit: I see the reply below and you could message me at-least to find out my order. I was initially quoted around $1,050 for transporting my car from Houston to Michigan. As a student, I booked well in advance specifically to secure the lower rate. However, just two days before my requested pickup window, Montway contacted me and told me that they could not find a driver at the quoted rate and that I had to increase the price by another $150. At that point, I didn't have enough time to look for another auto transport company, so I felt like I had no other option but to accept the higher price. I do want to mention that the driver was great, and I had a very good experience with the actual transportation of my car. My car arrived safely with no damage or issues at all. My main concern was the unexpected price increase so close to the pickup date. If the price is advertised as "100% guaranteed," I believe the company should honor the quoted price. If the price can be increased shortly before the pickup date, then I don't think it should be advertised as a guaranteed price. Overall, I'm happy with the driver and how my car was transported, but the last-minute $150 price increase was very disappointing and made the overall experience frustrating. read more

The car arrived safe and sound, which I am grateful for. The driver didn't speak a LOT of English, but he was very nice, which I am also grateful for. I feel like Montway was a bit deceptive in the quote however. The initial quote was raised because the car was "modified", but in reality it had been stretched 1.5 ft in the front. This was not an issue for the transport, as the driver had a trailer that hauled 2-3 vehicles. Montway rep said on the phone that $200-$300 would be charged to my credit card and the rest would go to the driver, and I received an email stating that $1370 would be owed to the driver on delivery. In reality, Montway charged my card $499, and sent another email stating to only pay the driver $1,100, which I did, but it felt deceptive. I am guessing that Montway got a way better deal from the driver than they anticipated, and instead of passing some of that saving on to me, or explaining, they just charged my card double what the rep said they would and kept all of the profit. Also, the rep promised tracking, which never happened - we had to call the driver a couple of times to find out the delivery time, because he hit traffic (which I understand he cannot control) and got held up by a couple of hours. From day one, this company was nothing but a scam. They charged me $1,200 to transport my Bronco from Chicago to Fort Lauderdale, claiming I was paying for "Premier" service with guaranteed on-time delivery. My vehicle was picked up on Tuesday and was supposed to arrive by Saturday. That never happened. When they picked up my vehicle, they used a flatbed tow truck and told me they were taking it to meet the transport truck because their carrier couldn't fit into my community. That was another lie. I've shipped this same vehicle multiple times with other companies, and no one has ever had that issue. They even sent me the name of the transport company they claimed would be handling my vehicle, so everything seemed legitimate. Then, just an hour later, I received an email saying the transporter had canceled. When I contacted the transporter directly, they told me the truth: they didn't cancel--the broker canceled on them. Instead of transporting my Bronco, they left it sitting at a police impound/towing lot in Glenview for nearly two weeks. I called them three times a day, every day, and was given the same excuse: "We're still trying to find a driver. Please give us more time." After seven days, I told them I was contacting an attorney and coming to pick up my vehicle myself. Miraculously, they suddenly found a transporter the very next day. As I'm writing this, it's been two weeks, and I still don't have my vehicle. It's finally on the road, but this has been an absolute nightmare. If you're looking for a reliable car transport company, do yourself a favor and stay away from this one. They made promises they couldn't keep, gave misleading information throughout the process, and caused unnecessary stress from start to finish. I met the driver of the car hauler at another used car place 20 minutes from my house. There was no way the car hauler truck could fit on my subdivision street. In my case, my car was picked up by Horizon Star LLC on July 17 at 9 PM for transport from New Jersey to San Diego, with an estimated delivery of July 27-29. I had a GPS tracker on my car and noticed it sat parked in Pennsylvania for days without moving. I repeatedly contacted both Montway and Horizon Star for updates, but all I received were generic responses with no real information or assistance. The delay stretched to 19 days, forcing us to rent a car and spend hundreds of dollars more than expected. To make matters worse, when my car was finally delivered, the driver told me he had to jump-start it because it wouldn't start. Overall, the lack of communication, transparency, and customer support made this a very stressful experience. If you want to avoid unnecessary headaches, I recommend looking elsewhere or working directly with a carrier instead of a broker. I called customer service again to confirm the pick up date. They assured me 9/28 or after and I would receive text confirmation and also email confirmation. Nope! The driver shows up unannounced first thing Monday morning! The driver is frustrated, I'm frustrated and I call customer service to verify if this driver is legit and not some random guy with a trailer hitched to the back of his truck trying to steal my vehicle. Fast forward to the day after delivery... my family member and I both received weird phone calls and voicemails saying that our payment was fake, the driver is at the bank with cops trying to get his payment. Really??!!Paying a deposit up front with customer service then paying c.o.d. at time of delivery opens up opportunities for these drivers to try and pull scams like this! Payment should be made entirely to Montway... not the drivers!! Well first the pickup was not covered and no one showed up after I took a day off from work. Absolutely unacceptable experience with Montway Auto Transport. It has been 11 days and my vehicle has not even left the state -- that is beyond unreasonable. My order number is 6893482534. This company completely overpromises and underdelivers. There has been little to no meaningful communication, no accountability, and zero sense of urgency. I've been left chasing updates with no clear answers, which is incredibly frustrating when trusting a company with something as important as your vehicle. At this point, the service feels careless and completely unreliable. If you are expecting professionalism, transparency, or timely delivery, look elsewhere. So I usually don't post. I want to say if you're looking for a company to ship your vehicle I would advise you DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY ! If Looking for reliably and customer service you will NOT get it here. I won't go into details, but make sure you look elsewhere because their Motto is " we are not Burger King you can't have it your way, but when we feel like it ! On the 22nd montway was supposed to guarantee delivering my car on the 30th from New Jersey to Florida Wednesday the 24th the first driver didn't show up at all Thursday the 25th. The second driver promised that on the 26th Friday morning he would come to the house and pick up the car. Keep in mind on the way took the money out of my account Wednesday. Friday came Friday afternoon no driver I'm moving out of my apartment in New Jersey. I have to call the company to find out that the driver broke down no communication leaving out of Brooklyn on Tuesday the 30th they are trying up charge me. $100 cash to leave out for New York. The whole thing is a mess. This is the absolute worst company in the world do not do business with them. read more

Their review are 100 percent fake! Do not be fooled! They lost my ignition key during transport, ripped off the front bumper to my hundred thousand dollar car upon delivery and I paid them an additional $500 for expedited delivery for it to take greater than three weeks ( it was a 15 hour drive). Biggest joke of a company, would never recommend them. I should've driven the vehicle or trailered it myself. Ended up paying $500 extra for expedited delivery for it to take over three weeks. read more

After 10 years- I recently hired Montway Auto Transport to move three vehicles, and all three arrived with damage that was not present before pickup. I followed their claims process exactly as instructed, submitted every required document, and provided clear photos showing the condition before and after transport. Despite this, Montway denied the claims without a meaningful explanation. Since then, they have completely stopped responding -- no returned calls, no replies to emails, and no effort to resolve the situation. I've made multiple attempts to communicate professionally, and each one has been ignored. Based on my experience, customers should be aware that if your vehicles are damaged during transport, you may be left with the repair costs and no support. I only just now saw the reply to my review or I would have replied sooner. But better late than never. I can promise you that I had no idea there were two kinds of pick up orders 1)Standard or 2) Guaranteed. The person who booked our reservation never once mentioned that. Or believe me I would have chosen the guaranteed service. We were moving across the country. Yes I needed our car transport to be guaranteed. But that is absolutely ridiculous because the reservation itself should be enough of a "guarantee" that someone is going to transport your car! Maybe next time tell your customers that if they book a standard reservation there is no guarantee someone will actually show up to get their car! read more

Avoid this scam at all costs. They took advantage of my 90 year old grandparents. They saw all the fake reviews on their website and trusted them to ship a vehicle. After they called, set it up and paid 25% of the total cost down, they were ghosted for 2 weeks. After they called and called, and I called and called, they finally got ahold of them, and they said someone accidentally canceled, and charged them another 25% up front to try again.
