Working with The Estate Edit was a pleasure from start to finish. Molly was incredibly organized…read moreand communicative, which was especially important since I was coordinating both the estate sale and the sale of my parents' home from another state. She took care of everything, making sure my parents felt comfortable throughout the process. She was especially patient and kind with my mom, who was anxious and overwhelmed preparing to sell their home of nearly 50 years and most of their belongings. The Estate Edit not only advertised and sold several large-ticket items before the sale, but also staged everything beautifully. They even created an INCREDIBLE, customized video that highlighted the items for sale while celebrating the history of our family home--a special touch we'll never forget. During the sale weekend, Molly checked in with me daily to update me on what was selling. What could have been a stressful, emotional process turned out to be smooth, professional, and even more successful than I expected--we sold and earned more than I had hoped, and their services were worth every penny. I can't recommend The Estate Edit highly enough!

Do not trust these people. I bought a peace of furniture from them over the phone. They sent me an…read moreinvoice with absolutely no information on it other than the dollar amount. I then contacted them letting them know it didn't say anything about what I was purchasing. Then they just put ottoman. So I wrote them back stating that it was for a leather ottoman in very good condition. Which was what they told me. But neglected to put on the invoice. I then proceed to pay for it. I had a funny feeling at that point. Then I went to pick up my item a few days later. I had my doubts that it was leather at that point. I asked if they were sure it was leather again. They told me it was definitely leather. So I took them at their word. After loading the ottoman I took it to a leather furniture store in S. Barrington. He confirmed what I had thought. It was vinyl. I then proceeded to contact them. Thinking that maybe it was an oversight. Their reply was try to sell it on facebook marketplace. I did not tell them I wanted any money off. Nor did I tell them I wanted to return it. I just left the ball in their court. But me trying to sell it on marketplace is a joke. Thank god , I bought it with american express. I contacted them immediately. They issued me a refund. Pending an investigation. I will also be contacting the state's attorney's office. Due to the company's fraudulent representation. If you get screwed over by this company. I recommend you do the same. If you buy anything from this company be careful. They will tell you anything. To sell it to you. After looking at there reply.you can see that they are scammers. Nothing like we can meet at an expert to verify or please give us a call to rectify the situation. By the way the delay was because the invoice didn't state what I was getting. I can just imagine what would have happened if I didn't get clarification. Oh and by the way I wasn't even picking it up until the next day. So how was I trying to walk out with it without paying. Obviously just excuses from a scamming company. That got caught in there lies.

I lived in this place for ~2 years. It was not good for my health, as this is mostly a community of…read morecigarette smokers (about 20% on my floor were). People smoke in the lobby in the bathroom; even worse, I saw a tenant on the weekends using febreeze to "hide" the scent, before entering that bathroom. Smoking in rooms is also very common, especially during the winter: the carpets stain brown/black outside the doors of particularly heavy smokers. The worst is smoke flooding your apartment through bathroom vents. Vents carry smoke from unit to unit, causing involuntary smoking (usually during the night), because it just floods your unit. I woke up on several occasions to the strong stench of cigarrette smoke. However, here's where the worst is to come: management can't do a thing about it: I complained five separate times about this more serious problem (unintentional/forced smoking during the night), and staff has no way to enforce accountability, because they have literally no way of tracing perpetrators through the air ventilation systems. While the management may send nice emails, literally no changes actually happened: sure enough, I would always find myself again smoking in my room, against my will. This cycle of waking up to heavy smoke and sending emails about it lasted for about six months until I had enough - I immediately began looking for other places to rent in Hyde Park. Here's my advice: if you find a unit that doesn't flood with smoke during the night, great, hats off to you this is a 3-4/5. If your unit doesn't flood with smoke AND you don't mind hallway smoke on the way to your room, I rate this a 5/5 (the price is great! - just keep in mind that the kitchens are all communal). Otherwise, keep in mind that this is a smoking community and get the hell out of here as soon as you can.
