We needed an appraisal fast and we went with their service. As advertised, they responded right away. The appointment was easy to set up, and they showed up, went through our place, and left, and exactly one week later we got our report! Super straightforward and reliable, and no hassle! read more

Chicagoland Appraisals offered professional and extremely knowledgeable service when we were in a pinch to get our Edgewater condo appraised. The appraiser was COVID conscious and super friendly. He was more than willing to spend extra time answering any and all questions that we had, including a follow-up call after the appraisal. I would definitely recommend Chicagoland Appraisals to my friends and family! read more

I made a very wise choice in selecting Chicagoland Appraisals to appraise a single family property in the Beverly neighborhood of Chicago that I was interested in buying. I had gone back and forth with the seller on price and needed an appraisal to be better informed on the property's value. I received approval from the seller to coordinate an appraisal and after some research found Chicagoland Appraisals on Yelp. I was impressed with the positive reviews I read -- particularly on the service of John -- so I called to see about setting up an appointment. I spoke with John and was further impressed. He answered all of my questions, illustrated his knowledge, and offered services at a reasonable price. I set up an appointment for the following week. John arrived on time, walked me through what he would be doing, and was thorough in his approach. Within 10 days, John provided a very detailed appraisal report. He also followed-up and spent about 20 minutes on the phone answering my questions. He was patient, professional, and polite. The positive things I read about John and Chicagoland Appraisals all turned out to be true. Truly exceptional. Thank you, John! read more

As a Realestate Broker in the Chicago area I have relied on John's expertise over the past decade tremendously. He has performed pre-sale appraisals and identified areas of concern and has given my clients accurate market evaluation to allow us to market the property accordingly to maximize ROI and shorten time on the market. I recommend Chicagoland Appraisal to anyone who is thinking of listing their property for sale. read more

John was prompt in contacting us with a quote based on our online inquiry. He was very professional and courteous in his interactions and the scheduling of the appraisal with our management company was very smooth. The delivery of the appraisal report was slightly delayed due to a health issue but he was happy to give us a discount for that. We will certainly use his services again in future! read more

Chicagoland Appraisals did a great job! I highly recommend them! I'm grateful!

I have referred John to many clients and each time he has done an excellent job. There are certain traits I look for when referring business to service providers such as experience, high level of knowledge in their sector and responsiveness - John ticks each box. Appraisals are such an integral part of real estate so it's important that you work with a company that's well established and has grown their business through building a solid reputation and referral based customers. On countless occasions John has shown how he's able to assess and navigate all aspects of a property's value to provide a clear an honest assessment. I would highly recommend Chicagoland Appraisals. read more

We used them for an appraisal and are very satisfied. Professional, kind, and prompt. I strongly recommend them.

Our home in Oak Park was appraised by John for tax purposes, and he did a fantastic job. He also supported us when we had our home appraised by the bank several months later. He was a strong thought partner, and even helped with pulling new comps to ensure we knew the value of our home. I recommend working with John every time for your appraisal needs. read more

Found Chicagoland Appraisals by accident really, when i searched for Appraisal services on the internet the first company that came up had a answering service that either never delivered the message or the appraisal didn't want to do business with me. The second one that came up phone number was no longer valid so by chance I checked out some yelp reviews and found Chicagoland Appraisal and was satisfied with the service John provided. The process was done within a week of initial contact. read more

John is proactive, extremely thorough and very responsive. He is by far one of the nicest people I've met in the business. He lended himself to me on a personal business matter where compensation was not part of the deal and without reservation, he was a huge help! In fact, I was able to save a deal he was not even apart of because he took the time to help me....... A perfect stranger. Service does not get any better than this. read more

Very nice guy. Was quick to return document and also responsive to questions. I just am not sold on his knowledge on the per-sq-footage value of properties in my area. My unit is listed by the Grand Ohio association as 873sqft, he measured as 756sqft and he told me the discrepancy is not a big deal because per-sq-footage value doesn't really play into the appraised value. Anyone who lives downtown Chicago or specifically in the Grand Ohio building could probably relate to my frustration. He also appraised my property using much smaller comparable properties, and the one comparable property that was in the same sq-ft class as mine and was priced right, IMHO, he dismissed as an outlier. I am not an appraiser, so maybe I am taking all of this too far, but knowing and owning this condo for so long, I am very much aware of the value of properties in the Grand Ohio, and I am quite certain my property was very much undervalued by Chicagoland Apraisals. read more

I hired John (Chicagoland Appraisals) back in late July for an appraisal, primarily due to the positive reviews for this company. The response time was excellent for the site visit, I received a call back within a couple hours and set an appointment a few weeks later. John arrived on-time and completed the site visit, HOWEVER, the site visit/inspection was on August 12 and over a month later, and although we discussed having the appraisal completed within a week, I still have not received the completed appraisal from Chicagoland appraisals. I have attempted to contact John via email regarding the completed appraisal and have not received a response. Needing the appraisal within a couple weeks of Aug 12, I contacted another local appraiser and scheduled a site visit appointment on September 7 and received the completed appraisal the same day. Unfortunately due to lack of follow-up, I cannot recommend Chicagoland Appriasals to others looking for an appraisal. read more

Our house is not on the market but we had someone who was interested in writing us an offer. We've lived in our home for 25 years and had an idea of the current market value but needed a professional opinion. With John's help, we were able to come to a fair agreement with our buyers. He was detailed and knowledgeable. The appraisal was worth every dime. I will recommend his services and actually already have! read more

Yesterday I contacted John and he responded to the voice mail in 30 minutes. Gave me information and offered an appointment within 4 business days. For reasons too lengthy and unimportant to list in this review, I contacted John this evening and explained I would not be needing the services of an Appraiser. Based on his professionalism and website that is full of helpful links and blogs, I will recommend him to others and certainly contact him should I need an appraiser. read more

I hired Chicagoland appraisals for an independent appraisal for a condo purchase in a high rise building in Lake View separate from the appraisal being done by my lender. John was very professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and timely in his replies. He took the time to answer all my questions. John also followed up after appraisal was done to see if I had any more questions. He has been doing appraisals for a long time and he knows his trade. I would highly recommend Chicagoland appraisals and John who is the chief appraiser for a professional, fair, detailed and accurate appraisal. read more

I would absolutely recommend John's services and will use him again should I need an appraisal in the future.
