I came here yesterday and bought a few things to eat and drink. The staff was rude in the beginning. I asked to use the restroom and they said the bathroom wasn't working. I asked if the bathroom had a mirror because I just wanted to freshen up; the lady who worked there said no it was out of order. The man that owns the cafe started talking to her in Italian. Five minutes later she said the bathroom was "fixed" and placed the key on a table and walked away. I felt the customer service was not great and the woman who worked there was not welcoming. She got friendlier the longer I stayed but I would have loved a warmer exchange because it's such a cute cafe. read more

Sweet little restaurant on the Embarcadero. Came in alittle before closing time. They don't serve the full menu all day so options were limited but service was still prompt. Why is this place not busier?! South Beach Cafe feels like a hidden gem. On our walk to watch the Giants at Oracle Park, we had some time to kill and were in the mood for coffee. South Beach Cafe is conveniently located on the long walk from the BART station to Oracle Park. Upon entering, there were only a couple of patrons eating & drinking. Otherwise, it was very lowkey and quiet. The lady (I wish I got her name) immediately greeted us and helped us with our order. I love the ambiance. It's quiet, cool and chill. She made our order right away; we literally had two specialty drinks whipped up in like a minute. There's only one size, which I'd consider a medium. What really shocked me was the pricing. Everything is so expensive these days. It was under $10 for two specialty drinks! Wow, I expected to spend closer to $20 when entering. I don't know how they're doing it with such low pricing but we need to support cafe's like this who have not increased their pricing. I highly recommend South Beach Cafe. If you enjoy walking the boulevard, you can quickly grab drinks and continue on your nice walk I plan on coming back and eating next time. read more

Cool neighborhood cafe, with walk up counter service. Deli style. A small but open interior, with lots of windows and natural light. Closely set tables and chairs and even a few spots out front. It was not busy inside but folks came and went with togo orders my entire visit. After a view of the menuboard(s) I went for the Turkey sandwich (#27), it was made fresh to order and prepared beautifully served with a nice side of fresh salad greens, with evoo. The warm sandwich was really very good and my spot outside on the corner on a sunny afternoon, not bad spot to enjoy it all. Very questionable business. Some of the items they had on their "menu" they were out of and one time the person behind the counter had a hard time talking in English. Prices are very competitive to better restaurant nearby so I do not understand what is wrong. The place felt very uninviting. It's like they forgot they are running a business and don't care about attracting and keeping potential customers. One lady was nice but the spirit of the business is missing. While driving out of the city, we unexpectedly run into this cute little café spot. The lady behind the counter was extremely nice and attentive, suggested the pizza that we ordered, which was delicious. Service was extremely quick. We were the only ones in the café, but by the time we were leaving, it got a lot busier. Unfortunately, we did get a parking ticket ($81). Even though it said 2 hour parking. read more

Customer service is horrible! I'm visiting san francisco and i decided to try this place and horrible experience. I only got a croissant since the only offered pastries and coffee in the morning and i was asking questions about the pastries and the old man was in such a hurry and rushing me and the cafe was empty. He didn't ask if wanted anything warmed up he just threw my pastry on the counter and walked away to sit down as i paid. We shared a lasagna and it was more cheese and very little meat. 3 tiny pieces of a croissant was the bread that came with it. Nothing spectacular but it served a purpose as a snack. Was looking forward to having some good garlic bread but it's not on the menu. read more

This is a special place, the reviewers complaining should go to a hipster spot somewhere else, basically anywhere else SF. The owners have been there forever, which is a gem in the time of absentee restauranteurs and people who have just given up because the restaurant and cafe business is just that difficult. I'd recommend having a coffee, pizza, salad, or whatever from them. Now again, if you're a real fussy person and believe everything should be overpriced and gourmet, don't come here. If you need fake smiles and fake compliments from the front if the house, don't come here. But if you want to have a legit conversation with the owners here, they are it. My husband and I were looking for next place to chill, grab a coffee and relax when we walked into South Beach Cafe. I was looking for the coffee menu and my husband was looking to use the restroom in the meantime. Before I could even see the coffee menu, nowhere near the other menus, the person behind the counter yelled at my husband that there were no public restrooms available. It's understandable of course, but i was looking to order and he was also going to order after he had to use the restroom. His tone was harsh and the whole restaurant heard it. I dont understand why the server had to be so rude about it. We immediately left. Absolutely unnecessary. Hope they learn some customer service. read more

I got the salmon salad, which has smoked salmon, walnuts, arugula, and bread. I can see that they didn't put in any efforts in making this a gourmet salad.... they just threw in some arugula, raw walnuts, and a few pieces of smoked salmon. Something is off about the taste of smoked salmon, which made me not feeling well after eating it. Definitely not the normal smoked salmon taste you get from buying at a grocery store. It has a really fishy taste. The bread that comes with it are also really stale. I won't come back again given its taste and concerns about their food quality. read more

At South Beach Cafe there is indoor and outdoor seating. The staff was friendly and patient. They have a selection of a variety of beer and wine. I decided to try the Antonio Pizza. I absolutely loved it and want to go back to try the other pizzas. The pizza came cut into four huge slices which I split with my boyfriend. The saltiness from the prosciutto balanced with the mozzarella well. The basil and tomato added a nice freshness to the pizza. read more

Good coffee, delicious pizza I am a soccer fan and often desperate to find a place where I can watch my favorite match with like minded fans. South Beach Cafe is one of my favorite destination on match days. They have a good size TV, serve good coffee, beer, wine, delicious pizza and more. The last time I was there watching a match, I ordered a couple of coffee drinks during the game and jumped up and down like a madman so much that I was starving at the end. Food, service and ambiance are great! We will definitely come back again. It's about 45 minutes drive but it's worth the drive.

Ok first will put my compassion hat on....older gentlemen seems like things are not going well...sad. Now down to business. This place is expensive and this dude is outright obnoxious and rude. And a weird texture as I found the chicken dry. Would have been better as a whole piece of chicken as I think it would have made for a tastier sandwich. Otherwise, I adored the pesto and other ingredients. I didn't try the pizza, but my coworker seemed to enjoy it. Just meh sandwiches. South Beach Cafe has been consistent for the past 15 years that I've been visiting. They are super efficient and can usually finish up an order within 10-15 minutes. I enjoy the cracker thin crust, meaty prosciutto and creamy mozzarella. I would recommend it and will continue to be back! read more

This super cute coffee shop is right across from my friend's apartment in San Francisco and the location is amazing! It is right by the bay and you can see all the boats as well as the pier! We got the coffee as well as two pizzas: the Vegeteriana and well as the Bruschetta pizza! I really liked both of the pizzas, they were fresh and super tasty. I was not a big fan of the coffee because it was a little strong for me, but I'm just not a coffee person in general. They also had really cute seating outside and since covid the indoor seating was closed, but overall the service was great and the food was also tasty! Friendly neighborhood place run by a lovely Italian couple. Delicious sandwiches, thin crust pizzas and salads. Coffee is yum too or the Italian sodas or cold beers/wine are a go to on a warm day or after a Giants game or while watching soccer on the TV.
