Sometimes the food is good, sometimes it's not. Sometimes I get a great salad and other times I get wilted lettuce and rotten tomatoes. Sometimes the fries are soggy and soft. And sometimes the food is great. Not sure if it's the difference in chefs or what. read more

Absolutely love the experience here! Friday nights are amazing for Prime Rib night! Their kitchen staff does an amazing job at putting together such a tasty meal! They always sell out early so call ahead and reserve your prime rib. We love taking our family here. The menu variety is great. The outdoor seating is fun all year around, especially with live music and dancing. The patio is not dog friendly, a lot of people ask that. If your looking for an evening cocktail this is a great bar to have one, the bartending staff treats you like family. This place is worth the drive and is one of our favorites. read more

Visited (again) last night, specifically for their Prime Rib. Probably one of, if not the beast we've had anywhere (including all,of the white linen spots). Everything was perfect, slow roasted PR, large cut of perfect cooked meat, and homemade Au Gratin potatoes. Had to 'walk' with not only leftovers, but more importantly 2 different pieces of their pie, which are spectacular. I had ordered their buffalo sausage and I was astonish at how good it was. It was full with flavor. When we ordered they gave the wrong food but they called immediately telling us that they mixed orders. When we came back to get our food they gave us 2 free slices of cheesecake for the mix up. Been coming to the old South 40 for years...always had great burgers. Just went to the new place.The interior has been cleaned up...brightened up. Got rid of the pool tables and put in dining tables. Looks far more family friendly now.I had the poppers and rockie mountain oysters...my friend had the basic cheeseburger. Poppers were nothing special...typical breading with cream cheese. The 'oysters' were good...lightly breaded and very tender not chewy. The burger was really good...cooked to order with fresh veggies...all in all a good meal at a reasonable price. This place sucks. The service was terrible and they were assholes, we wanted to give them our business but they just suck ass. I so wanted to like this bar! I love small-town flair, but this was our second time eating here and there's just no flair. The first time we figured it might just be a fluke pre-COVID so we decided to give it a chance again post Covid. Absolutely no one took any safety precautions here, so if that is a thing you definitely don't want to stop here. The main food was OK, but nothing to brag about. The BLT was bland. The pastrami burger was semi-decent. Would I eat it again? Maybe, but it is nothing to write home to mom about. The order came out missing items and when they finally came out (15 mins later) the fries were either soggy or chard. There was no flavor to the fries or to their sweet potato fries. For a napkin they would take a paper towel and rip it into four squares and that was what you got for a napkin, one of the squares. Maybe it was a shortage thing? i found out that the South 40 was under new ownership. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries for take out, due to COVID 19, and was very happy. I requested cheeseburger medium well to well and it was perfect and the taste was great, fries were good, can't wait to taste them when they are just out of the fryer. Looking forward to having a close place to go for food! Very excited to try it once they are open for dining in. read more

I've been here twice now and been impressed with everything I've tasted. The brisket is amazing but they also have some imaginative burgers; the queso and the deluxe burger being my favorites. My kids also loved their wings and I enjoyed what they could not finish. To top it off, we were served an amazing sweet potato, caramel cheesecake because they overheard it was our anniversary.
