Terrific service and professionalism. I worked with Hunter Anderson from One Source. Polite, professional, a problem solver. He and his electrician wore masks throughout the process (didn't need to be asked) and ensured a safe environment. We had a challenging site for an awning installation. Prior to the demo work, Hunter evaluated the challenge and explored two good options with us. Hunter came back out during the electrical installation to assure both his electrician (very polite and competent) and us of the solution. The work, both inside and outside the house was professional and solved the site challenge. Nice clean-up after the installation. I will definitely use One Source Electrical in the future. Been working with Nick and Source One Electrical for almost 10 years and they have done multiple jobs for me in two homes. Just completed a task on a place we moved into to ground the outlets for safety, add a couple of fans in the bathrooms, clean up the dangerous garage wiring and a few other items here and there. As you can see from the rest of the reviews, Nick and his team are as good as it gets. Communication is superb. He'll always lay out all the options/risks for you, let you know how much each costs and let you decide what works best. Not an ounce of pushy and very focused on doing the right thing. Had several of Nick's crew out doing the work and all were punctual, considerate, thorough and did a great job of cleaning up after themselves. I used Source One Electrical last year to do electrical work on an approved (permitted) addition to my house and I couldn't be more happier with the work that was done. This has been a frustrating experience. When the electrician, Dan, was here and completed the work, he wrote on the service contract that he had worked for 2 1/4 hours at $85 at the site. I did not realize when I signed the service contract that the 1 hour at $125 per hour of driving was on top of this, I thought it was included in the 2 1/4 hours, since he was here for such a short time. I should have questioned him more and had him spell it out on the form, since it is a very confusing form. When I received the invoice for the work it said 4 hours at $85. When I called the shop to ask them to explain the invoice, Hunter said that they do not charge for 1/4 hours only 1/2 hours, so I will automatically have to pay more because the worker had made an error in filling out the form. "But not to worry because they fired the guy because he kept making errors like this." Hunters general attitude was "whatever"; just pay it, because we are right. We have used this firm before and when Chris, the owner, was the electrician everything was handled beautifully. However now that the company has expanded, they do not seem to care about the client. The work was done satisfactory, but I would go over the service contract carefully and maybe even call the head office to go over it before the electrician leaves just to make sure they do not change things later. read more

My Electric went out on New Years Eve (yesterday) and I waited around for my Home Warranty to solve the problem... then realized... Um no. Those idiots left a message for a company that was closed for the holiday and the weekend. When i woke up freezing on New Year's Day I called a million numbers with no answers on this very badly timed loss of power... nobody answered. Then I remembered my friend said our mutual realtor had recommended Somone (Source one Electrical) to her. Our realtor recommends them to all of her clients and my bestie actually had her entire breaker box and wiring done by them. So I texted her and she replied with the info on Yelp and called the number. The office phone went straight to Nick North's cell and he answered quickly.... Five stars for answering on a Holiday, right? haha Seriously though, top notch service came with this Holiday service call. He said he could come out about an hour and a half later. Then he did. Within a few short minutes he determined we had a bad breaker box, then he went to lowes and bought a new one and replaced it. He was very quick, precise and wasted no time. I usually hate dealing with hourly services because I worry about getting ripped on labor, but i tell you now that Nick runs and honest company and does quality timely work. If you're on the fence, I tell ya... just go for it with Source One Electrical! :) I'm nice and warm writing this review ON NEW YEARS DAY because Nick made the time to help me out when nobody else would. AND didn't raise the price on me knowing i was in a bind. Woke up on a Friday night about midnight to the sound of a electrical sort going on in the wall of our master bathroom. In the morning (on a Saturday) we called Source One and Nick came out to look at the problem. I had Nick and his crew add some outlets and data wiring for an office remodel at my home. Communication was excellent, the work was well done, and pricing was very fair. Nick very nicely suggested some changes to what I had in mind (no pressure at all), and I decided to take his advice. It worked out well - very happy with that. Also, the crew that came in to do the actual work cleaned up after themselves so well I couldn't even tell they had been there afterwards. And then Nick didn't even send the bill until he checked in a couple of days later to make sure everything was working the way I liked it. He was able to connect our upper and lower cabinet tape lighting including connecting all of our existing lighting together with dimming capabilities. The way he explained everything and put into words I could understand, made me feel at ease. I knew I was not getting taken advantage of, his knowledge was impressive! Not to mention the price for the amount of work being done was very reasonable, especially compared to other quotes we had received from other businesses. He had one of his employees come to my office to conduct the work. We had some issues on our end with the building security not letting him in to my office. However, the employee was extremely patience and understanding. He came in to make a "dedicated source," which is not a small job by any means. He had me up and running within two hours. I just bought a condo in Rancho Bernardo. My Dad used Nick for some work years back. In short, Nick made the whole thing easy. We've had serious issues with everything electrical in my house. If the A/C was on while the dishwasher was working, out went the breaker. Blender, with the microwave, and the TV? Out went the breaker. We rent the home and the property management company kept sending their own electricians to no avail. In comes Source One. Our technician was Oscar and not only was he knowledgeable, but the customer service was FANTASTIC. I find that some companies lose my business because of a lack of quality customer service. This was not the case with Oscar. He explained that the kitchen appliances, and the appliances in one of the rooms were randomly wired onto the wrong breakers and he sorted it out for us. We haven't had a single issue since he worked on our home. If you need anything electrical fixed around your house, I would highly recommend Source One and this gentleman in particular. read more

I met Nick in 2013 to get an estimate on replacing track lighting in my kitchen with recessed LED lights, and patch up ceiling holes. His estimate was quite reasonable for the electrical work, but not so much with the ceiling patch. Ever since then, I've been calling on Source One for all electrical work in my house. I've had Mike, Gunther, Billy, Dan and others work on different electrical jobs from replacing/installing light fixtures in the bathroom, door bell, ceiling fans and carbon monoxide/smoke alarm. The last few times, I've had Dan over to install motion sensor to an existing exterior lighting system to enhance our outdoor surveillance cameras at night. There was a glitch after a week; the motion sensor wasn't working. I called to report it, and Dan came back to check, and replaced a defective motion sensor. Dan is very patient and meticulous with his work. He was here to check on an outdoor electrical outlet that wasn't working. Dan is an electrical detective, and gets the job done. When I call Source One, I ask for Dan because I know he'll get it done. I'm happy to have found Source One Electrical. Their customer service is excellent for repeat customer, like myself. No drama! Nick & his helper Dan are awesome! Needing emergency attention to a blown-out AC unit on a day that was supposed to hit 100 degrees on Thursday, I looked to Yelp for some help. Source One Electrical had all 5-star reviews so I gave them a call. I got owner Nick on the phone, told him what happened and literally within 15 minutes was at our front door. He accessed the situation & told me that he or a helper would have it up & running promptly. Very shortly thereafter Dan arrived to fix the problem & then came today at my bidding to address another issue that had been brewing. He discovered and fixed a potentially dangerous issue today as well. These guys are the real deal & we've already scheduled them to come back and look over our 40+ year old home for any other electrical upgrade suggestions and/or recommendations that also may need addressing. They are very professional, honest, communicate in layman terms & very fair when it comes to pricing. We give them a 5 star rating because there isn't a 6. I contacted Source 1 for a small job, replacing a light fixture in my kitchen, and I was given a reasonable quote that I agreed to. I was then contacted by the installer and we agreed on an appointment time of 1:00 pm to do the work. The installer rang my doorbell at 12:45, came in and completed the work, and presented me with the bill around 12:40, 55 minutes later. Because it was higher than I expected, I asked to know why. His explanation was that he had actually arrived at 12:30 so I was being billed an extra $85 for another hour. He said he had tried to call when he was on his way but my phone went directly to voice mail. (This is true because even though I did not get the call, I did get a voice mail around 1:20, so this one is on me.) When I asked why he had not just come to the door at 12:30, he claimed he had but there was no answer when he rang the doorbell. NOT SO! I had arrived home around noon and had been sitting in my living room waiting for his arrival. The doorbell is loud, not broken, and did not ring until 12:45 when it was obviously working fine. Bottom line: I was charged an additional $85 dollars for the time the installer claims he sat in the driveway, all of which was before our agreed upon appointment time. I will not be using this company again. read more

I'm a little late getting to this review but felt that the work Source One performed deserved taking the time to write one. I called Source One to get a quote on upgrading my main service panel, Nick was able to come out quickly and give me a quote for the upgrade along potential issues moving from a 100 amp to 200 amp panel. After starting the project SDG&E informed us that the main line from the street was not in conduit and was undersized. Being on a budget I decided to cut the concrete and trench from the street to the panel myself, Nick and the guys worked with my schedule and also provided suggestions so the upgrade would go smoothly. After SDG&E signed off on the trench Source One installed the conduit and I back filled and compacted the trench, after that was complete and signed off by SDG&E it was Source One team's turn, they were very professional and accommodating to my special requests and completed the upgrade on schedule.
