Update:returned today and Soundtronics refunded and uninstalled the unit. Thankful for the positive response. Had a new gps unit installed in our Class C Rv. Salesperson sold us a unit that is NOT compatible with any RV or our backup camera. Furthermore, they cut all the wires to our steering column, satellite and usb ports! Fried the tv outlet. Claimed it worked when they tested but sales person could not get it to work when showing me everything worked! The unit installed FAILED 30 minutes after leaving their shop! No sound for radio, music or directions. System locked. Now I need to drive 70 minutes back there tomorrow.... Hopefully for some reasonable resolution! Very upset and extremely unhappy! read more

Jim installed a custom touchscreen Alpine media center and perfectly matched speakers in my 1993 Mustang. I don't believe that I've heard a better sounding system! A few weeks back, I went into soundtronics for an estimate on a completely new sound system, i mean seriously replacing everything. The quote for 4 speakers, two amps, a sub and a radio was $2,500. Now, I'm a researcher at heart, so the first thing I did was go home and research everything- if I'm spending $2,500, I want it to be worth $2,500. I soon found out that soundtronics charges near 100% markup on ALL OF THEIR ELECTRONICS. The radio I was quoted was marked in the shop at $650, online it was $275. So naturally, I went online and ordered all the parts myself. I left the wire, brackets, dash kit, bass knob, steering wheel controls, etc- because I know the shop has to make money somewhere. I go back into the shop when most of the parts have arrived to get an estimate on an install. Jason was at the front desk when I arrived. Let me start by saying Jason is a slippery, slimy snake oil salesman who will waste your time and money if you let him. I spend 1 hour in the store having him write everything down and figure out what i'm looking for. He tells me he will call me by the end of the day and so I leave. This was a week and a half ago. Jason never called, because I can only assume he felt slighted that I did not want to pay near 100% markup on my supplies. Rather than being up front about this (every business has the right to deny service), Jason decides to waste my time. I will NEVER go to soundtronics again and I will be CERTAIN to tell all of my buddies (i'm in an audiophile group) to do the same. I can't wish this dirty shop enough ill will. These guys are excellent. - They installed the entire A/V system in my Dad's house like 8 years ago. - For Father's Day, I sent Dad a 77" 4k LG OLED (from Seattle) and asked Soundtronics to mount it above the fireplace with extension arm, and to seamlessly integrate it *with what Dad is used to*. - They did so with same remote, same buttons, and Netflix / Amazon programmed properly. - They then took the replaced 65" TV and upgraded the game room 55" TV with it (on the same mount). Look man. I'm not nearly an expert, but I know enough to see when someone IS expert and is *also* not trying to rip me off. Soundtronics are your guys. read more

Good selection, even some cheap solutions too, I have some nice quality Memphis speakers in both cars, only about 100 a pair...installed in about 30 minutes. I think they make most of their dough with high end theater systems and custom installations. They have been around forever too. read more

I'm very happy with Soundtronics! I had them install my amp & subwoofer into my new vehicle. My appointment was at 2:30, but I called at 1:00 to see if I could get in early and they were able to get my car back there 10 minutes later! Everyone that I talked to was friendly and accommodating. I sat at the small raised table that they have to do some homework for the 1.5 hours or so that it took to finish. They had water and coffee available as well. My final price was right about what they quoted me on the phone beforehand. I was out the door & enjoying my new bass right after. I have been to other car stereo installers around Wilmington, NC and no one else comes close to the knowledge and professionalism of the staff at Soundtronics. The level of customer service provided by the Soundtronics team outweighs any potential savings a person could possibly find at another car stereo installer. I worked with Jason and he was great to work with because he listened to my needs and then offered a good, better, best option without trying to up-sale me on anything. After everything was installed he sat in the car with me to ensure I was satisfied with the sound and quality of the work before requesting a final payment. I know that sounds like a simple best practice, but unfortunately there are some other installers in Wilmington who think customer service and customer satisfaction ends after you drop your car off for the installation. My recommendation to everyone is to make Soundtronics your first, last and only stop for car audio needs. read more

I went into this location to have a remote start calibrated or fixed and because it was not originally installed in this location 2 of the technician was extremely rude and was hesitant on helping me correct this problem even though I paid them $74.00 to reboot the starter the previous morning and my car was still shutting off after starting. All I needed was someone to help even if I had to pay to have my issue fixed! Very unprofessional! You have only ONE time to make a GOOD FIRST impression and Soundtronics definitely failed here. I had a remote starter installed a few months ago. BEST thing I've ever done for myself. The customer service is excellent! I was in and out in the time frame quoted, and enjoyed a relaxing atmosphere while waiting. Check out the movie room. Great comfy chairs. I absolutely love the convenience of my remote starter. My truck is warm in winter and cool in the summer, before I get in it. This also bypassed Toyota's non lock while running function. Which for me is a major bonus. I like to leave my truck running and locked when my dogs are with me. read more

Great audio shop! My go to mechanic recommended these guys since I had a blown speaker and my car is no longer under warranty. I was assisted by one of their employees, Carter, who was very professional, pleasant, and knowledgeable. The last shop I stopped by added in all sorts of additional charges and parts that I ended up not even needing. The worst service ever. Incredibly condescending bunch of men. AND DID NOT GIVE ME WHAT I WANTED! Skip this one!

I just bought a used mustang convertible and want to fix a couple things, one being the speaker volume. When the tops down and your going down the highway its hard to hear. So I actually found this place from yelp and stopped in to ask questions and get prices. Being a female and knowing nothing about car stereos it would be easy to over-sale me. However, I was greeted by a very nice man when I walked in and I started asking questions and he gave me advice on what Id need and pricing. He then came out with me to hear it for himself, messed around with the settings and got the speakers at least three times louder!! (Somehow the front speakers had basically been turned off and the only sound was coming from the back speakers) He told me I should be good to go, to try it out and if I still wanted it louder to come back in. Most places just try to sale you things whether you need them or not especially when you dont know much about what you're actually looking for and for him just to mess with some settings and not try to sale me further really impressed me!!!! I did not get his name but the world would be a better place if there were more honest people out there like him. Next time I need speakers or a sound system I will definitely go back! read more

Great experience! Dan (the technician) is a man of his word. Told me the price would be $95 if it took and hour but could be less if he got it done quicker. Well I wasn't there to see how long it took him so when he called to let me know my car was done I said how much $95 he said no $45 took me half the time. Thats honesty he could have easily charged me for the $95. I will recommend them to everyone i come across good job! I have some other stuff I want done! read more

i had my rear deck speaker replaced to match front door speakers i had a pair of 6 inch polks put in my door which made read deck speakers off centered so i bought a pair of polk 6x9 and had soundtronics install them , they kept my pioneer 6x9 speakers and when i called them asking for my speakers they ssaid they were closing and to come back tomorrow i came back next day and they gave me a pair of tan factory speakers with holes in them that you could see the speakers didnt work ar all and never had worker i told them these not my 6x9 pioneer speakers but they claimed i didnt have any pioneers but my speakers werre playing in my car when they tested the gps system and my speakers werte black these ate tan mine said pioneer right on the magnet these dont . they stole my speakers after i paid the 566 to installl front and rear [olks speakers and a gps system in my car they still stole from me and lied about what my car had in it, the speakers they gave me back had multiple holes and were missing pieces of the woofer mine were intact and played , cant trust busoinesses when the pandemic is going on , they sold my speakers tosome one else as they sell pioneer 6x9 speakers , they mad i paid 125 for my dual gps system from crutchfield mine came with face platye , harness and antenna for 159 and they sell it for 299 in their store with no harness , face plate or antenna with alll parts its 450 from them and 150 for instalation total 600 dollars i paid 150 for installation only from them so they got mad and stole my speakers thats why it took them 3 hours to do my car they were planning to close and ghave me a empty box to fool me into thinking my old rear deck pioneer speakers were in the baox but they wasnt and they closed before i noticed they stole my pioneer speakers and gave me factory , all myfriends know i nwever had factory speakers in no car i ever owned . ai always use after market pioneers speakers till thjis year when i switched to polk speakers which sounde better read more

ti was replacing rear deck speakers to match front speakers after driver front speaker shorted out , they took my pioneer 6x9 speakers and didnt give them back as they should have 12/11/2020 , and when i called said they were closing and to come tomorrow ,i came back 12/12/2020 and they ran outside to give me a pair of old tan 6x9 speakers with holes in both of the speakers and you could tell that did not play and they claimed they were in my car , my car had pioneer cd playerdeck 50x4 and black pioneer matching front and rear speakers black not tan, and my speakers were playing when he came and had me open my trunk to see what was playing in my trunk rear deck. and i told him nothing was wrong with my pioneer rear deck except they didnt match my new polk front door speakers , and i wanted a matching set of polks in front doors and rear deck and had bought polks 6x9 for myrear deck and wantted my 6x9 pioneers back , and he said ok but they didnt give them back and pretended they were in the [polk box but they wasnt and i drove home and store was closing as i called back to complaoin they kept my 6x9 pioneer rear speakers which were working fine ,they claimed my rear speakers were busted which is false they asked me to turn down my rear speakers when checking out my trunk you could see pioneer written on the speaker and the speaker was black not tan, i paid them 150 to put my 6 inch polks in my door to replace my shorted out speaketr in my driver door , and i paid them 150 to put my dual gps in and 150 to install my polk 6x9 for a total of 266 and they stole my pioneer speakers and gave me some factory busted as speakers and claimed they were in my rear deck , everybody that knows me know im had pioneers in my car all the way around never had any factory speakers ever in my car , it came with pioneer deck and speakers i just wrote down serial numbers when i first got car for insurance clame if car was stolen , serial number is in old computer which is frozed and insurance company claim must be over 500 dollars to claim since speakers only cost 169 dollars i have to take a loss but i will never do business with sound tronics ever again i paid them almost 566 dollars in 2 weeks and they steal from a 100% disabled veteran , they stealing becasue they the only place open doing car stereos and they over charging speakers cost 65 dollars to install they charged me 150 dollars read more

I had my new LG 55" TV installed on the wall today by Soundtronics. The technician called me from their shop and asked exactly what I wanted accomplished today, he also asked about all of the electronics I wanted connected to the TV. We went over everything, ( I have to admit it was way over my head), he made a list of ALL the special wiring, lengths and connectors that would be needed to install everything I described. When they arrived, right on the scheduled time, they came in, looked at the installation area and the equipment I had and immediately protected my hardwood floors and started the installation. The two technicians, Mark and Randy, had everything required to do a complete professional installation. The job went very smooth. When they were done, the area was spotless. Mark and Randy took the time to explain exactly how everything worked. My wife and I were very impressed with Soundtronics and would highly recommend them to every family looking for home TV and Audio installations. Thank you Mark and Randy!!!!! read more

Do not get work done here! A couple years ago this store did good work. I had a radio installed yesterday as well as amp tuning. After the car was delivered to me, I found that the air conditioning thermostat didn't function. As soon as I went inside I was prompted to pay without even being asked if I was happy with the service. After I told the installer the problem he was reluctant to fix it! He said he would have to dismantle the dash again and it would take time. I told him I had time even though he didn't act as though he did. After only ten minutes my car was out again. The installer made a remark about not being able to wait another day which was out of line. When I got home to check the amp settings I saw that my gain and bass boost was set to the maximum setting which can cause damage to equipment. I consulted the manager on duty to discuss my displeasure with my experience only to be met with argument. If I need any further a/v work done I will take it to Sound Decisions where I had some home audio work done. I would recommend the readers of this review do the same. read more
