Attention to Detail Missing on this Repair:…read more I recently got a rock chip on my windshield and contacted my insurance company to have it repaired. They recommended a different windshield repair provider, but I chose to go with Novus since I had worked with the owner, Alan Paul, on previous repairs. Alan reached out to me on Saturday, September 6th to schedule the appointment. I brought in my SUV for the windshield replacement, but unfortunately, I encountered several issues with the repair. The technician seemed unfamiliar with reinstalling the sticky pad for the Touch Keypad Entry System on my windshield. He removed the keypad, stuck it onto the adhesive pad, and then tried to apply it to the glass. This resulted in a large air bubble underneath, as the correct method is to adhere the pad to the glass first before attaching the keypad. I contacted Alan about the problem, and he assured me that a more experienced technician would correct the issue. We scheduled a follow-up appointment for the following week. However, when I arrived, the same technician was assigned to fix it. He told me, "I know how to fix it now--I brought my credit card," and proceeded to use it to try to smooth out the sticker. Despite his efforts, the new sticker still had several white spots that looked like either scratches or air bubbles. I wasn't satisfied with the result, so I took my SUV to the Toyota dealership's accessory shop for a second opinion. They advised me to let the sticker sit in the sun for a month and return if the issue persisted. While showing the Toyota service manager the issue, we noticed the plastic trim around the windshield wasn't fitting properly and kept popping up. Upon closer inspection, it became clear the Novus technician had broken the plastic trim and reattached it without informing me. In the meantime, I had to drive to Asheville, NC for business. After returning, I washed my SUV and noticed the windshield wipers were misaligned and resting on the hood--clearly not reinstalled correctly. Thankfully, I didn't encounter any rain during the trip. Eventually, all the issues were resolved: the keypad sticker was replaced, the broken trim was fixed, and the wipers were replaced and realigned. However, the entire process was frustrating and time-consuming. The lack of attention to detail from the technician created unnecessary problems and multiple return visits. Based on this experience, I can no longer confidently recommend Novus for windshield repairs.

I would not recommend this shop! They handle their business in a shady manner! I had a piece of…read moremetal in one of my tires and went to buy a used tire but was told I can't just replace one tire on an AWD vehicle. So I bought 4 used tires from a shop near me because I didn't have over $1,000 for new tires. I brought my car to Prime Shield to get the four used tires I bought, mounted and balanced. They told me the tires tread was not good and wouldn't pass inspection, and one of them had a tear and wouldn't hold air. We agreed they would keep my tires on and I would return the used tires. But they chose to put three of the used tires on and one of my old tires. I told them that left me in the same predicament I was in already. They insisted that I pay $171.26 because they did the work! Not only did the tech say the tires were not good enough to pass inspection, but the manager Tom said they were in bad condition as well. I paid because I needed my car but, I let them know I was going to call the owner in the morning. The next day, the manager Tom had an attitude with my son and I. We asked for the owner Sam, and he said he would be in later. We stopped in again and he said Sam wasn't there. So, I asked him to please have Sam call me. He never did, so I called close to closing and the woman at the front desk, Robin, answered and said Sam was gone for the day. I let her know that I feel they should put my original tires back on and I wanted a refund because they knowingly put bad tires on my car and charged me $40 per tire. She started raising her voice, which was VERY unprofessional, as is her attire, to sit at a front desk, with her chest on FULL display. My son had to interject and ask her to lower her voice. I let her know that, had she said, the tires were already on when we noticed the tread, can you pay us something for their time, that would have been understandable. OR had she said, those tires won't pass inspection, but we can order you some new tires for x amount, that would have been appropriate. BUT, to go and put them on after they said they wouldn't pass inspection? That's shady!!! She said she would have Sam call me, and he never did! Apparently they have been open since November, but haven't gotten their license to do state inspections! Wonder why? Anyway, I would avoid this shop because they don't operate in an honest and trustworthy manner.
