If there was an option of no stars, this shop deserves it. I was forced to use this shop due to my insurance company for repairs to my vehicle. I cannot express enough, to stay far away from Classic Collision. It started out w very poor communication from their estimator David Squitieri, and only got worse. After an extremely long repair, for minimal items. Was told my vehicle was complete. Verifying my vehicle had been given an alignment prior to pick up, I was told they thought it had been done, but had to get back to me. They rushed to get an alignment done due to they had not done one after front end work. I arrived the next day to pick up my vehicle, stating it was complete. Upon taking possession of my vehicle, first thing was a check engine light on, as well as my steering wheel being was completely out of alignment. I returned immediately to bring attention to David. David specifically told me, that Classic Collision uses 3rd party companies for certain repairs (alignment), due to they are a body shop. I was told by David, that Classic Collision has No control over their vendors as far as doing a good job. This was specifically for the alignment. As a business owner I felt this was unreal that an employee would tell me they use sub par outfits to do maintenane/repair jobs on customers vehicles, and they have no control over there work performance. I contacted the company that supposedly did the alignment on my vehicle. Only to be told they in fact did Not do the alignment on my vehicle. So it was done in-house, and David passed the buck as if the other shop did this. After being lied to to my face, I realized this was only going to get worse, it Did. Returned next day to pick up truck, again. Couldn't deal w this shop's inability any longer. Had to leave town shortly after, and drive this truck w trailer 2000 miles cross country. After 800 plus miles into the return trip, pulled in late night to get fuel. Pulling into fuel station, turned left and my steering wheel, and wheels were Locked in a full left turn. My truck was now stuck in this fully locked left position. After looking under the drivers side steering assembly. Noticed an Unbelievable oversight by Classic Collision, their technician that "aligned" the truck's steering wheel NEVER re tightened the bolts for the steering arm. This then caused the coupling to rotate roughly 210 degrees, and the bolts were forced over steel plate, and locked wheels left (pics included). If this had been at highway speeds, and turned left over an overpass, or for any other reason. This would have "locked", and forced me into a god knows kind of accident. this is not just a little oversight, but should be a dismissal of your duties as a technician. With onlookers help, due to I was now blocking traffic, and stuck in a full left position. was able to spin the locking collar back close enough, and tightened the bolts that were left loose. Proceeded on w the drive, after making it the full 2000 miles. Noticed Oil, and other fluids now leaking from where I just had repairs done. I have since had to re pay a local shop to fix the issues, correctly I might add. Please be advised, this is not a shop anyone should be taking their vehicle to, to have ANY work done on it. Bad shop, poor communication, poor repairs, as well as being lied to, beware you've been warned. read more

Long story short...Truck needed repair after accident. The shop was told that there was visible leaking from the brake drum and diff housing. The shop only repaired the plastic pieces from the accident and replace a rim, stating, no leaks were found and nothing was wrong. Picked up my truck in confidence, drove down the road to then realize my back wheel was wobbling...take it back, oh you have a cracked axle, insurance won't pay it now since we've already sent the bill. So due to their negligence, and lack of care to actually inspect the truck I'm now without a vehicle for 5 months because of the back and forth BS with insurance. Just own up to your mistake and keep your integrity! Don't give me the run around about how you didn't know anything about it! Don't trust them! read more

I have a Ford Excursion, one of tha largest SUV's ever made with the 7.3 diesel engine. I want to keep this vehicle for those two reasons even though the age us up there. But she was getting cancer spots & need a new paint job. After reading the other comments, I will admit I was a little hesitant, but after meeting with the owner, Steve and telling him my concerns he assured me my vehicle would be something to be proud of when his crew was finished. He told me they would need my vehicle for a minimum of a month. Okay, so we took the plung! HOLY SMOKES! After pointing out all damage to my car, receiving the estimate I trusted to be correct, and giving them half that amount before they would even start service, I received a call the next day stating that they left out some of the damage in the estimate and it would actually cost 100s of dollars more. Then, refused service when I wasn't pleased to hear of their error. I understand an estimate could change, but by hundreds of dollars? Because you left out damage identified in the estimate? I guess they can get away with whatever they'd like because they're the only auto body collision shop in Hampstead and they don't need anyone's business. read more

I presently Live in California and my daughter in Hampstead NC. She wanted a hidden trailer hitch receiver placed on her husbands Grand Cherokee before he got home from a Military tour. Time was critical to accomplish this. Checked some reviews and called Registers. Talked with Steve and explained what I needed. Now this is an auto body repair shop, not an auto mechanic. But he gave me a price for something that was out of their ordinary. My daughter dropped off the vehicle and they actually drove her back home. I took my vehicle to Registers for body damage repair. They called me after a few days saying my vehicle was ready. The guy on the phone asks me to bring my spare car keys when I pick up my vehicle. I asked why and he told me they lost my car keys so I would need my spare. He said it like "oh by the way". I told them if they don't find my keys they had to rekey my vehicle. The owner fought me on it and made snide hateful comments. I finally had to file a police report for theft and threaten legal action to get them to rekey my vehicle. After what they put me through I wouldn't take a go cart there for repair! read more

I took my older Mustang GT there for the first time back in May of 2018 for a dent in the door. The manager, who was named Brad at the time was awesome and willing to help make the customer happy at any cost. The work they did on it back in May was awesome. However about six months later I got hit in the back passenger side bumper causing a lot of damage to the bumper, taillight, trunk, an both fenders where dented due to the truck shifting. So I took my car back to Register's to get it fixed again, but this time there was a new older manager that had taken over. They got me set up and I took my car in for them to get started working on in Nov of 2018. Then about a month later I get a call that it is ready, and so I go to look at the work and everything looks good except there is a dent that was still in the fender along with new scratches on the door handle. Now I know what scratches are there and what aren't cause I my self am an automotive technician in Ford service department, and I personally hand wash and do all the mechanical work on my car myself. Body work is completely different from service work so that is why I didn't do the body work myself. Anyways they said they would get the dent fixed and buff out the scratches, so I said "ok sounds good". About a week later I get a call saying it is finished again, but this time when I go pick it up, it is raining and overcast so I did look at the work and just took it home. The next day I go out to look at my car to find two obviously new scratches to both doors and front fenders under the side mirrors. I don't know what they were doing to put them there, but I know they weren't there before and were so fresh that the white underneath was showing unlike the other few scratches that has been on the car for a while. I also found scratches on my spoiler that looked like they took a cardboard box and set it on my spoiler and then slid it off, which also took a small chunk out of my paint on the spoiler. So I went back up there to show them and the manager there was in extreme denial that they did any thing to scratch my car. He first said they got pictures before they worked on it, and so I asked to see the pictures and he responded with a smart attitude that "we don't have to take pictures". I kept telling him they had to create the scratches cause they were not there before, and he just kept denying it. He said "you aren't getting a new paint job" in which I responded " I don't want a new paint job, I just want the scratches ya'll put on there fixed". and he then said in an aggressive tone "yea well I know you aren't getting a new paint job". I myself have been working in the automotive service industry for three years and I personally try my best to take care of the customers car in hopes others would do the same to mine. This mustang was my grandfathers car that meant something to me, and yet these arrogant people at Registers in Hampstead are in constant denial and irresponsible scam artists that just want to the bare minimal work to finish the vehicle to get there pay. I will not be doing business with them ever again, and I hope to you who is currently reading this will not make the same mistake I did and find out the hard way. Please don't cheap out and come to them. Just spend a little more money to save you the time and frustration of having to deal with these careless workers. read more

Registers has handled two of my vehciles that were involved in accidents. They were both around a year apart. The service is great. They are friendly and professional. They handled towing my vehicles and also dealing with insurance company and made it so easy for me to file the claims. My last car had to have the rear door skin replaced along with them having to match up the paint. They did an awesome job matching the color to my car, I can't tell a difference, except shinier and newer. They also completed the work within one business day of the estimated time to complete. Another thing that makes them perfect is the Hertz Rental cars being there so you can arrange to drop off your vehcile and pick up rental car very easily. They are great! read more
