Sound Construction was recommended to me through a friend and it was a great recommendation! I was looking to have my master bath redone - new tub, tile on the wall behind the tub, expanded shower and tile and replacing the carpet (!) with heated tile floors. I am very happy with the quality of work and the finished product. Skyler was the project manager and Tony was the construction manager. They were very organized, the project started on time and ended on time. Every day, the workers were at my house no later than 8:30 and usually by 8:00. Skyler or Tony stopped by most days to check on the progress. All the workers wore masks, they cleaned up after themselves, they were polite and all did a fantastic job. I wish I could find a 'before' picture but here's one 'after' picture. The shower enclosure is still being fabricated. Also, if you have a chance to have heated tile floors, DO IT!! We hired Sound Construction to tile floor and shower in a small bathroom, and we wouldn't hire them again or recommend them to a friend. We had a really good experience communicating with the people at Sound Construction and working with Skyler (our project manager). Skyler was nice and personable and always quick to respond to our concerns. However, we had a lot of issues with the work done by the tile setting (our tile setters were Ihor & Milad). There were a number of things that they did wrong or poorly that we had to ask them to address. When possible, they were responsive to our concerns and spent a lot of time addressing things they did wrong. But, we were frustrated we had to spend so much time overseeing their work when really they should have done it right in the first place. There were many times it felt like we knew more about how tiling should be done, even though we're just humble DIYers and they're professional tilers. Also, the BIGGEST issue we have is that they applied the shower tile by spot-bonding. Once the tiles were set this way, it's obviously not possible to reset. Sound Construction responded to these concerns by offering to extend the warranty to 3 years, but we are still concerned about the longevity of the installation. In the end, we like how the tile looks but aren't very happy with how the installation was done or all the challenges in the installation process. read more

I had this company - under the name Sound Tile & Grout - tile a backsplash and hearth. My installer was Brandon and he did a fabulous job. He took extreme care to make the layout & cuts absolutely perfect. Working with stainless tile for the kitchen and marble/glass herringbone for the hearth, I was nervous but he did a beautiful job. Also he was a super nice guy and I didn't hesitate to leave him alone in my home for a while when I ran out to do an errand. It is near impossible to find anyone who really cares about doing a good job anymore (my remodel has been a nightmare) and Brandon was a great example of integrity in his work. Over the last several years I've used Sound Construction on several jobs both big and small. Small: 50% of our main floor is rough tile, I've had Sound clean and re-grout tile throughout. Brock completed the job in record time. Where it fit he used a machine that resembled a small Zamboni, and then did the smaller areas by hand. Big (OK maybe medium): Remove and re-tile several areas in our wine room/bar. First of all the completed job turned out great but what I truly appreciated was the time they took to explain material choice and how they would stand-up to time, cleaning and be impervious to stains. I highly recommend Sound Construction! Brock came to hear about our project and gave us a detailed invoice. Once we picked out our colors, flooring and quartz countertops the work commenced. Communication was excellent both from Brock and the office. Brock came almost every day the workers were here to check up on how things were going. The workers cleaned up after themselves, wore masks and laid down a protection for our carpeting. Brock went out of his way to help if we had a problem. He even came back in the dark to fix an old leaking turnoff valve in the garage. One of the workers even commented on what a great boss he was. Our residential project was large scale-- interior and exterior slate and porcelain deep cleaning, repair, re-grouting, color enhancing and sealing. Technicians Tim and Blake were first rate; respectful, friendly, efficient, and well organized. They offered consistent professionalism, competence, skill, timeliness, and attention to detail. Our initial contact was with Brock. Immediately after requesting a quote he arrived and conducted a thorough assessment, then soon thereafter provided a detailed line item quote. We contacted other companies for bids as well, however the timeliness and attention to detail Brock offered, along with other reviews and a recommendation by Angie's List sold us. Don't waste your time with this offensive business. Brock and Cody came to our house to quote us on a tiling job in our bathroom. We'd been working with a contractor friend who couldn't complete our bathroom, and were in a pickle to find a contractor who could as we're living in a 1 bathroom house with no bathroom. After spending some time with us, the quote we received was essentially "thanks but no thanks," citing that because we needed a new contractor, we must have been micromanaging our last contractor and they didn't want to work with me and my partner. Can't believe the audacity of Cody to say this to us. Not only am I offended, but outraged as the misogyny of this man and company. Either way, don't even waste your time asking for a quote or give your money to these entitled contractors. They obviously don't need the business. read more

Sound Construction has won my business for life! Back in December, my wife and I made the worst contractor pick we could ever make by going with "Norton Home Remodelling LLC", over "Sound". Sound was the first company out to provide a quote for what we needed (doors, trim, floors, tile, two vanity installs, wainscoting, crown molding, and a new fireplace mantel/mill work). But as everyone doing this knows, you need at least 3 quotes right? Knowing what we know now, their bid was not only spot on, but absolutely professionally delivered, and expressed. Yet we went with the lower bid from Norton. And guess what we got? You got it, roughly 8-10 weeks of excuses, shotty work, no shows, and time wasted. If I had $40,000 lying around again, I'd have Brock and Bill tear out everything Norton did, and do it right! Fast forward those 10 weeks or so, (and the last let down we went through dealing with Norton), and you have me..sending a S.O.S email to Bill at Sound, begging him to help finish my house. We had one last leg of the job needing to be done. A full fireplace mantel build, with tile face, and shiplap. It was a full on Hail Mary, and the last big part of our remodel we needed done. I didn't expect on such short notice, and relatively inexpensive project, to jump to the front of their scheduling books, but they fit me in around 4 weeks after contacting them (more than acceptable given the time that had already passed). When the time finally came, the guys at Sound were only dealing with a blurry photo we provided, taken off of Pinterest, of the basic gyst we wanted for our fireplace. Enter Kirk: Kirk was our Expert, amazing, disciplined, exceptionally attentive to detail, Craftsman point man! Kirks first day on the job, was demoing the old 80's tile, and spit-balling with me on the measurements, and materials needed for what we were lookin to achieve. He was patient, kind, and understood that; although I may not know exactly what I'm trying to communicate, he was going to help me get there by explaining it in layman's terms, and using whatever methods he could to make it clear. And he did just that. After letting Kirk get to it, he completed the most incredible fireplace beyond our expectations! He showed up early, he was organized, he had attention to detail I haven't seen outside the Military, and even cleaned up after himself amazingly (unlike Norton). We even have a little Yorkie that was kenneled, that he took out and let run around so she wouldn't stress in her kennel with all the noise going on. My wife and I are now starting the savings back up for more home improvements, that we will DEFINITELY be calling Sound, to come back out and help us with! From the small, to the big, we have found our contractors for life! Once again, Bill, Brock, Kirk. HUGE Thank You's from me and the Mrs. You should be proud of your team, and yourselves. Keep up the amazing work! It's worth mentioning, that our hearth wasn't done by Sound. But I will probably be having them out soon to fix aspects of it. read more

There are lots of construction and tile professionals to work with. These are the guys to choose. They are easy to work with, have good communication and the results are impressive. Last February we worked with a Project Manager from Sound to remodel our Master Bathroom. It had experienced water damage and we were negotiating with our insurance company. The Project Manager, Julie, was wonderful. She supported us and worked with us to get what we wanted in a remodel. We were very impressed with her and in turn with Sound Construction. As the months passed we were still negotiating with our insurance company and Julie was wonderful. Then Julie left Sound and we were assigned another Project Manager. He was very nice and told us he would work hard for us with the insurance company and in remodeling our bathroom. Two weeks later when we were scheduling an in person meeting with the adjuster and the project manager when Sound Construction told us they were dropping us. They no longer wanted to "drive North" to do work. I was shocked. This came after months of negotiating with the Insurance company and finally getting them to meet with us and the project manager. I told Sound Construction that this is unprofessional and they were basically screwing us after months of working with us. Now we are back to square one having to find a contractor. We had originally gotten 4 bids, but found Julie to be a great person to work with, I feel as if we were deceived. The other three bids were not going to work anymore so now we have to start over. I am disappointed with Sound Construction and would not recommend them to anyone. It's as if once Julie left, so did the company's integrity. Once trust is gone, there is nothing left. We had a most pleasant, quick, and beautiful master bathroom repair with Sound Construction Services. We knew we had to make repairs in our master bathroom, and just really didn't quite know where to start. The original home builders thought it a good decision to put wall to wall carpet on the floor in a bathroom. Obviously, after many years, this is a problem. Not only had the water from the shower leaked out and under the carpet (causing a nasty, moldy ick,) but it also had damaged the sub-floor. We were very fearful of just how much damage we were going to have to deal with, but Skyler was most pleasant, and patient with our questions. He advised what was likely the problem, as well as the possibility of a bigger problem. He understood the realities of the water damage, and was honest about what needed to be done vs what was unnecessary. He explained the pricing in the estimate with realistic charges, as well as the "what if" possible charges. We ended up with repair to a portion of the sub-floor, re-tiling the entire shower area, replacing the carpet with tile on the floor, and re-building the glass surround for the shower. Every step was done quickly, and in an extremely clean manner. Cruz is a magician with tile! We never worried about what was happening while we were at work; they were fantastic. The timing was excellent, the work is well done, our house was always clean by the time we got home from work. We are very, very happy with the results. Sound completely remodeled our kitchen late 2018. They were timely, met the schedule, prices were fair. After getting into the project, they recommended a few change orders to improve the overall job and we accepted. The project did turn out much better than we first planned. We love the result. Brock, the owner, was great, office was awesome because they communicated with us almost weekly about progress and next steps. The lead carpenter, Dominick, was outsanding, an artist as well as technician. We had some quality control problems with the cabinet company, Viking, but all were resolved to our satisfaction. Hopefully Viking has improved since then. If we remodel our bathrooms Sound will be our first stop. read more
