Ever since the new owner took over this company and it has had a lot of financial issues. Renovation resolutions owes us over 7000 and hired us knowing they can't pay the bill. It's been overdue over 3 months now. They been ignoring all the emails and phone calls. Be very carefully doing business with this company. If they treat employees and subcontractors like this how can they be trusted. They are in legal battles and might have another one regarding this balance. read more

Thanks to poor design (window in the shower) the exterior wall in the bathroom failed. Failed as in when they removed the sagging tile, you could put your hand through the cardboard that used to be a wall. Chose Renovation Resolutions based on reviews. Their estimate was in line with the other contractors. Renovation Resolutions was on time, they kept to the estimate, and the bathroom, including the new wall, new tub, new vanity, NEW CEILING FAN INSTEAD OF A WINDOW FOR VENTILATION! - really, new EVERYTHING looks like a million bucks. read more

I would not recommend hiring this company. We had our kitchen remodeled, and under counter lights installed. The contractor doing the very sloppy backsplash used a sealant to cover up the lights under the tile, and basically ruined them. The back splash was a joke. They removed it and tried again, still horribly uneven. We made numerous attempts to contact Matt, and he did nothing. we sent a certified letter, still nothing. Very disappointed in the lack of acknowledgement of the sloppy results of very expensive under cabinet lights. Very disappointed in always being directed to talk to someone other than Matt. After the first day, i never saw or talked to him again. Ended up asking the crew to leave, hire another contractor, who finished the backsplash, and it looks wonderful. Never received any acknowledgment from Matt on the lights that were horribly expensive. Think twice. Very costly for not having a finished job. read more

There have been so many contractor horror stories out there, it's like a gamble every time you use a new one. I was fortunate to get a referral from a close friend, and contacted Matt with Renovation Resolutions. My house had hardwood floors destroyed by my dogs nails, carpet destroyed from my dog marking it's territory, and stained doors destroyed from my dog scratching them with his claws, plus a stained wood and glass exterior door that looked extremely faded from 9 years of weathering, along with a lot of areas that needed touch up. There was broken tile, and a bathroom with peeled away paint and exposed sheetrock due to a leak in the shower head. I had Matt visit to look at the job, and he helped me come up with a plan and a timeframe. He's genuinely helpful, and the more I got to see him, the more I was convinced he's just as honest as he is competent. His quote was completely reasonable, his timeframes involved no delays. By the time the project was done, everything looked brand new, and there wasn't one penny charged above the quote. He double checks all the work of his crew, and if there are any snags, he's all over it. I don't think it's in his DNA to leave you disappointed. Right before putting the house up for sale, I felt like we got our real house back because it looked like the day we bought it. I would not even comparison shop if I needed to use a contractors service again. read more

This review is for initial contact only during Matt's visit to our house for an estimate. Didn't have any work done, so I can't comment as to the quality of their work. First, I would like to qualify my review by stating I was chairman of the board of trustees at my church for over 10 years. Our church and its schools sit on almost a full city block and is worth well over 5 mil. I have gotten bids for numerous projects both large and small while as a trustee, so I am very familiar with contractors and bids. My husband and I were wanting to do a very modest remodel of our master bath. As both of us are retired, we prefer to spend our money on travelling and not house remodeling. We had scheduled an appt for Oct 25th between 3pm and 4 pm. At 2 minutes to 4:00, I was notified that Matt was running late and they were cancelling the appt. That's their 1st strike. We set aside the afternoon so we could meet with Matt, and I don't like my time wasted. We had other things to do. We rescheduled for Fri. the 27th. Matt did show up on time, but the first thing I noticed was that he was chewing gum. To me that's not very professional. We had a shower that was the full width of the bathroom. We wanted it shortened so that a cabinet could be installed as the bathroom had no storage. Almost every idea I told him on how I wanted the shower and cabinet done was met with almost an arrogant "that is not a good idea", and he would proceed to lecture me on the right way to do it. We are in our 60's and wanted a pre molded shower pan as it easier to clean than tile and grout (can't bend over to clean the shower floor too well), and it is non slippery. Matt preceded to lecture me, while drawing pictures, as to how the more expensive tile floor is better than the shower pan. Since we have used that particular shower pan in 2 previous bathroom remodels, we know it stands up well to wear and tear. When I mentioned that I wanted a 90" high storage cabinet inset next to the shower, his first response was to tell me to put in something like a make-up vanity. Didn't listen at all as to why I needed a full size cabinet. I told him no, that we needed a full size enclosed cabinet for storage. He kept fussing at me that since it was next to the shower the top would get wet from the steam and seemed rather irritated that I insisted on a full size cabinet. Thank-you for the info, but don't argue with me if I still want to do it. It was very off-putting. We have remodeled bathrooms in a previous house so I know what works and what doesn't. I have received 2 other bids on this project and none of the others lectured me like that. The reason I mentioned my stint as the chairman of the board of trustees is that I do have a feel for contractors, and I knew that this wasn't a good fit. Matt's visit was on Oct 27th, and we still have yet (Dec 14) to receive a bid. (We had a contractor out on Oct 24th and received their bid 4 days later on the 28th.) Obviously, our remodel was too small for him to consider. As I mentioned before, we are using our money for travel not expensive renovations. Oh, and one other thing. Matt had a folder with him that had a tag on it with someone's name and the date of Oct 25, 4:30pm. Hummm. Since he was running late on the 25th, was my appt cancelled so he could keep his 4:30 appt.? Just throwing that out there. read more

If you want a contractor that does what he says, and actually shows up on time, then you should call Matt. He and his crew did great work, and delivered what they said they would. Matt is the owner, and he took care of everything. He worked with us, communicated clearly with us, and took care of every aspect of the process. I highly recommend Matt and his business. We are very happy with our experience with Renovation Resolutions. The owner, Matt Jackson, is very knowledgeable, very detailed in his bids, communicates at every turn, fairly priced, and on time. We had a slow water leak that caused damage to our rental home's second flooring landing structurally and to the drywall. My insurance company gave me a low ball estimate on the repair cost, but Matt gave a detailed line by line estimate and submitted it to our insurance company and the insurance company finally agreed to nearly double their original estimate. The insurance company must have thought we would just take the money and not repair it properly. Matt's company had employees come out and put down RAM board to protect the floors, and plastic to protect the carpets before the work even started. He worked with our schedule to try and not inconvenience our renter to much by scheduling dates and times that worked for us. His structures guy was thorough and quick. The drywall guy took his time to do it right where you can't even tell there had been damaged. The mudding, taping, texturing and priming was excellent. They did a good job cleaning up after the job. We decided to hire Renovation Resolutions again to do granite work in our bathrooms in our primary residence. His granite installer was always on time, communicated with us consistently, installed in one day, left the place clean afterwards. The people Matt employees are very professional, on time, and do quality work. If you need an HONEST contractor with FAIR prices that does what they say they are going to do, then you should consider hiring Renovation Resolutions. We have ample experience dealing with contractors in our line of employment (real estate agent and project manager). Usually, we try and do everything ourselves since we have had many bad experiences, but in this case we didn't have the time to fix the damage ourselves. After meeting Matt, we decided to hire him to quickly repair our rental. Matt has definitely renewed our hope that there are still good contractors out there that put their client's interests first, are fairly priced, do QUALITY work and finish on time.
