Well I had been in the day before, and the person that helped me really tried to find the right type of cabinet screw for my special project. That was great. Today, with all the rain, I needed boots. Of course it was the end of the season and a lot were purchased. I have to tell you that the person, the lady, that helped me was a gift from heaven. My size and narrow foot made it impossible for me to fit in the ankle height. But she sure did try, did it in such a nice way, and her patience is incredible. None of them fit but she knew the products well. Liked having a woman helping me. An Ace Hardware Emerald Isle Nice Matters visit today. Thank you angel in the middle of a rain storm. read more

This Ace Hardware is amazing. There are times that my husband sent me to get something and I have no idea where to look for it. The staff is always helpful and all about customer service. They have a fabulous selection of all different things. I love going to it because of the fun things they carry. My husband loves it because he can find most everything and it's on the island. Good prices, helpful employees, and a great selection make it a 5 Star Pl. read more

Very friendly and helpful staff. They have a good selection and carry the items I need, from small screws and o-rings through yard and garden items. Prices are comparable to big box stores, but with the advantage of Ace carrying replacement parts that wear out from normal use. read more

Great inventory for rental house odds and ends. Competent staff, always easy to find advice. Prices reasonable read more

Sound Ace Hardware - Mousse loves exploring sound ace - Hardware Stores Near Me - Emerald Isle, North Carolina

Great people, knowledgeable and helpful. Decent prices. Happy to see this place still doing well after all these years!

Needed some double stick tape & was excited to come in and check this place out because I love an excuse to get too much stuff at a hardware store. Disappointed to see a Trump sign, but that's y'all's business I suppose- drew the line at maskless employees though- I'll find what I need elsewhere. read more

I have NO clue why this store is an Ace Hardware store!?!! They don't adhere to Ace programs! Had several items to buy and get the cash register and the lady said we don't use the Ace program and was actually kinda of rude to my wife and i when we questioned cause we didn't understand! So I told her to cancel the transaction and walked out. We went to a Real Ace Hardware in Atlantic Beach!!!! Plus their customer service is so much better than Sound Ace!!!!!! Definitely won't step foot in this store again!! So everyone Beware of this and their prices!!!! Bought a water hose at Ace Atlantic Beach for $19.99-the same hose was Sound Ace was $27.99!!!! Jacked up prices at Sound Ace!!!! read more

I love this store. Great people and very helpful, friendly. I look for work to do around the house so I can take a trip and kill an hour looking at stuff. Highly recommend the experience - beats the big box store sprawl. Watch for the cat! read more

Sound Ace Hardware - They even have cats! - Hardware Stores Near Me - Emerald Isle, North Carolina

See all

This is the nicest Ace Hardware I've ever been to and it's all down to the staff. We were greeted at the front door by the neighborhood kitty and then inside the door by the resident cat Ace. A very friendly and helpful gentlemen helped us find a shell scoop and a yeti wine glass and we enjoyed chatting with him. Amazing selection of Yeti, Cartwright, and all sorts of other things for the home. Great store and great people! read more

Terrible staff member named Ryan I believe. Younger boy about 18. The worst customer service possible. It was honestly embarrassing for him to be representing this store. I asked for help finding an item and he just ignored me multiple times. I hope he is fired. read more

Very bizarre that at the height of a pandemic 5 of 6 employees can't manage to wear a mask correctly. The customers were all doing their part, but the employees can't be bothered. The older gentleman behind the register had his mask on his chin. Why even bother? Pathetic. read more

I reside in Emerald isle and do business often with Sound Ace Hardware mainly because it's local, the people working there are fantastic and helpful. On August 5, 2016 I went into the store with an unusual issue with a beach chair I had purchased some time ago and had no receipt. I buy a new chair every year from the store because I'm looking for a particular chair that's difficult to find and thankfully they have it. I was greeted by the Assistant Manager, Melissa, and explained my issue. Melissa was very patient and genuinely concerned about customer satisfaction. After examining my beach chair Melissa had a brief conversation with the owner, Janel White, and I was immediately provided with a new chair...no hassles, no back and forth posturing. In closing, many other businesses would have refused to take any action on the customer's behalf and that would have been it. I truly appreciate this business and those associated with it's ownership and the employees they hire. One of the countless blessings to living in Emerald Isle and doing business locally. Hands-down my go to place for everything I need as a homeowner on Emerald Isle. Yay Ace! The staff is so friendly and so helpful I always feel like I'm spoiled rotten wood and the minute I walk to the doors. I get everything I need and then some. read more

Boy Scout stuff!! So helpful. The employees go out of their way to help find what you need. Worth the drive from Jacksonville

It's SO nice to have a hardware store right here on the island, but they don't just sell tools. This Ace Hardware has beach gear, garden decor, gifts, and so much more. Definitely worth a visit. Also, one of my favorite aisles has traditional kitchen items. They carry brands that are hard to find anywhere else. On top of everything else, their prices are right and the staff is as friendly and helpful as can be. read more

I have had the worst experience at Ace with one of the WORST employees in my life. I was in there looking for a Milwaukee 44-7-8in Corded Band Saw Kit (11 amps, 120v, 380rpm). I asked the following associate if they had this in stock. He proceeded to ignore me as he slept in the plastic Ace shopping bags. To get his attention again, I booped his nose, at that time, he blinked rapidly, yawned and then abruptly jumped off the counter. Though the employee was quite adorable, he definitely requires additional customer service training. I am still rating the business 5 stars as they are one of the first companies I've visited that has such a diverse staff. And yes, this employee was a cat. Meow. read more

I'm proud of how the Ace Hardware in Emerald Isle, NC has developed. The staff is composed of sweet elderly people who will assist you immediately with a smile. They also carry ammunition now! read more

This is the best hardware store we have been in. Their prices can't be beat ( and we have tried!) They stock a little of everything... Especially goods for fixing stuff at a beach house. Fishing, beach items, even toys help you spend your island time having fun. The people who work there are also top notch. Save money and enjoy your experience by skipping the big box stores inland and spend more time on beautiful EI. read more

Excellent! Friendly and very helpful employees! Usually have everything you need and they don't price gauge you.

Helpful staff to helpyou find exactly what you need. Why fight bridge traffic to get to big box store? You find help and ok prices without hassle. read more

Wow what a great experience compared to the big box home improvement stores. Please type of great help...I was asked twice by different people if I needed help. In addition to normal home improvement/repair items they had a huge supply of beach chairs, coolers, sunscreen, etc as well as a huge supply of fishing poles and gear. Definitely will head back here again for essentials at the beach. read more

We live here and I come into the store often. They know EXACTLY what you need/want even if you can't say what you need, they find it for you and their prices are fair and reasonable. Support local business, this is better and more personalized than a box store. I always shop here because I value my time and like having someone help me. read more

Always a helpful staff and they always carry whatever you need. I also refer a lot of people here !
