They carry the top brands including General Finishes to Paint Couture to Miss Mustardseed's Milk Paint! My fav is Paint Couture, because it self levels to minimize brush strokes! They have a cute children's boutique, several jewelers & home decor booths, candle & soap makers plus a charcuterie board booth. There are a few antique booths towards the back too. So many cute gifts for any occasion! The staff was attentive, greeted me upon entering and asked if I needed help finding something in particular. James City may not be in downtown New Bern, but it was worth the quick drive across the bridge.

An old time hardware store is not like a big box hardware store, like the place that rhymes with Dome Stepo. This place has the items that you need for your project except they don't sell lumber (that I saw anyway). The other parts of the store had some great crafty items from both local, from near local places in North Carolina and also globally. I was truly blown away. A great place to stop in while you are walking the downtown New Bern area.

Little balconies with furniture have staircases leading up to them. It is like having two smaller second floors! On the ground level, there is a door in the back leading to another room filled with merchandise. This building definitely nailed the looks. As for the actual merchandise, this building has a variety! There are small pieces of furniture, like chairs, dressers, and small tables. There are also useful, and sometimes funny, accessories for the house. One of my favorite things for sale was a kitchen towel that said, "Alexa, Skip to Friday."
